my hubby said I will have to convince him very well but only after we r done with having kids.... I don't mind helping out. Inshort I've given it a good thought. My only ish is the morning sickness except mayb the gestational surrogacy which I wld prefer anyway.... I don't mind donating eggs too. This one my hubby is on board.
I'm a health professional so telling my colleagues et al it's surrogacy wldnt b an issue. Of course I will tell my family and friends. I wld only leave out the identity of the owner of the baby. It's something I really wanna do.

Honestly, I ve never thought of this. My experience in 11months of marriage without taking in was hell.(was under serious pressure from my in laws) I can imagine what these women are going through.
Today, am a proud mother of many children.
Sincerely, I would like to help by donating eggs, provided I get good medical care. My only concern is convincing DH.

Firsttymum, hope the ministry is moving forward.....

no it must not be from the embassy. as at early this year, i used the one from my lawyer and it was accepted.
Mom4ever:
Hi. Pls, for LA mamas, does the notarized consent form for American passport have to be from the embassy alone or can a lawyer's own also be used. I know fr Houston, I doesn't have to be from d embassy. Is LA also liberal?

ssn office confirmed no fraud yet and they have already put it on watch list.
my concern now is that she might be using it for tax.

thanks for the head up, i appreciate.

anonymousmum:

The truth is that I don't believe any fraud has been committed...yet.

Opening an account is not a crime. When (and If...) it is used illegally, then you have an issue.

For now it's all red flags (i.e the type of account she opened etc). There is no crime yet.

However I support your DH's stand, very pro active. but it may be premautre.

What you can do is tell the SSN office that you think the number has been compromised, and the SSN should be put on a watch list.. That way you are exonerated in the event of any yawa. Keep all correspondence with the IRS safe, as evidence later in the event of any issues.

In addition, you can get your husband to casually mention to your in law that the SSN may be compromised, that "someone" saw the SSN, and you have reported to the IRS so that "no one" does anything funny with the number.

That was she is informed (with style), and does not attempt to do anything funny

You can also ask her that you don't want the account again. Escalate at the bank if you have to. Is it not your child?

It's not easy. All the best. Wisdom is best to direct.

Oh thanks for the advice.
please how do i block the electronic access? the processes?
or better still should i inbox you?
Amother4life:

All you have to do is request that she close the account. You don't need to open an account to claim anyone on your taxes either. So,she didn't need to go through all that . Call the lady and share your concern after all she isn't a spirit. If you can't call send a polite email.

You can choose to block electronic access to your Social Security record. When you do this, no one, including you, will be able to see or change your personal information on the Internet or through our automated telephone service. You may want to block your information if you

have been the victim of domestic violence;
have been the victim of identify theft; or
have any reason you do not want your record to be available.
If you block access to your record and then change your mind in the future, you can contact Social Security and ask us to unblock it.

OMG part 4 already!

While am still trying to catch up.....

congrats to new mums and babies, successful poe's.... we give God glory.

@Lady G,
i commend your effort, well done.

@girlloom,
its quite a pity on your issue, anyways,we seems to have a similar story...not exactly though.

my in laws played a first one on me too.

on the exact day i will be leaving for Naija, the wife asked me to give her my sons's SSN so she can open an account for him, that she normally does that for her children for future purposes and afterwards i and my Dh should be crediting the account. so she open the account and returned with some documents and handed them over to me.

i was happy at her kind gesture and thanked her, not knowing she had a plan...

meanwhile, this same woman told me not to give the no to anyone that it is highly confidential.

when i traveled to the US few months back(different state), i decided to check on the account, deposit some money and open an account for my LO.

i discovered the woman open the account in such a way that she and my child(when he is 18) will be the only one that will have access to the account. i and my Dh can only credit the account and nothing more.(so strange)

the bank said i can only have access to the account if she adds my name...

the bank explained that there is a monthly debit that occurs from the woman's personal account to my child's account.(such generosity is really hard to come by this days)

it was at this point i realized that there is 95% confidence interval that she is most likely using the no for tax claims. efforts to get the bank to close the account proved abortive.

so i went to ssn office to check if there is any fraud going on with my child's ssn no, but they said everything is ok. further dive into the issue, i was made to understand that the woman opened the account so as to claim responsibility of the child and make tax claims easier.

so i decided to discuss the issue with my Dh and possibly get him to confront them since they are his relative

but to my greatest surprise Dh said he does not want to be involved, that i should notify IRS immediately and log in my complain. so i told him that the implication will be disastrous, that i suggest we thread carefully but Dh turned down my idea, owing to the fact that they should have considered the criminal implication.

honestly, my conscience wont let me do as advised by Dh and i wont want to confront them either. besides, if kartakarta bursts, the family(inlaws) will point a finger at me.

but on the other hand, what about my child's future?

i decided to narrate this story, so others will be alert and learn.

@justwise,
can blocking my child's ssn help? if yes, how.

Some shops/stores like macys do tax refund for foreigners, but i think you get back only 50%. U need to have your passport and your return ticket. The catch there is you need to be returning to your country within 2weeks, on your ticket if you still have more than 2weeks to your return date, no tax refund. If your gonna buy much, you can wait until about 13 days to your return date before buying.thats the last i know of tax refund as of last yr.

Wow! Interesting. Information is power.

Is tax refund applicable here in the US? If yes, what are the requirements/processes?

I had a still birth on 7th Jan. Its such a very sad experiece.
I used Dr Amanjoh of Methodist sugarland, I have no regret whatsoever! The baby has already passed by the time I got to the hospital for delivery. She stopped being just my doctor and is now my sister. D staff of methodist sugarland and dr Amanjoh are smply great, even as I grief for my baby, I reckon with them, I will simply choose dem again.

And Soulcare woman? God bless her for me, even thogh I'm alone in America with no friend and family, they filled d vacum well. She stayed with me all tru my CS, my 1st thought was to run out of the hospital and board d next plane back to Nigeria wt my pregnancy, but she stayed and held my hand tru the c section, her whole family stayed truout d day helping wt my grief, hers is more than a concierge, it's a calling.

To my roommate, you know yourself, I say Thank you.

To God, I bless ur name, cos you have already given me the fortitude to bear the loss, even though I waited 3 years for this journey. I thank
you for defending my own life, and for all.

To my husband, God be praised, I appreciate you more.
Oh dear! I honestly do not have words to say how I feel. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May the lord comfort you and bless you.

But u don't av a specific Dr.. It's kinda like a teaching Hospital.
the ward isn't a room to urself. It's divided...

(But u can Remove the epidural fee from the hospital u av seen so far and it'll b cheaper)

Before my pm is bombarded By people
That's all d information I have...
I don't have any other extra information about it pls.

Not sure bentaub bills are straight forward. My good friend had a terrible experience with them late 2013.
Do make sure you confirm their rates and agree with them first. To avoid stories that touch.

Theres a way Amazon does it, they can bill you direct in Naira, which is way better than bank exchange rate, or they bill you in Usd and the bank changes with ther own rate. Open an account with Amazon and choose Naira as ur currency or when you enter your card detail

Good, thanks for the info

For me, they checked mini-shawlar's travel docs twice; when we were checking in & @ the boarding gate. I had to show them his ETC when they checked his blue pali and saw no visa there... It was d immigration officer in 9ja that omitted asking for it. You have to get either a 9ja visa, 9ja passport or Emergency travel Cert. in order to travel to 9ja

Congrats to all the new mothers in the house.. May your LO's continually fill ur homes with Joy...,

With ETC, they are correct. For me, no one checked visa when leaving US, but on entering Nigeria, they will ask. You just submit the ETC to immigration at the airport, and keep a copy that you will use for 9ja passport for yourself

I think some have done it in the past and got away with it ( Naija style).
I patiently waited for the attendant Checking us in to ask for baby's visa. When she finally did and I showed her, I then asked what if baby didn't have it? She said it means baby's not going anywhere and invariably I'm not going anywhere either.
They've been asked to check that all documentation is intact before you board. Also, the American passport enables you travel to a lot if countries visa free, but not all countries.. e.g Nigeria
Hope this helps? Also, you can Google it.

Thanks. good to know,I for enter one chance.
