Adol84:That’s why I make reference to doing what works for you as no two situations are the same . A lot of Nigerians have flourished in USA . A lot of Nigerians have also flourished in Nigeria. It’s all about finding out what you want in life and going for it. Some people cannot live with power interruption and all. Some people will rather have an alternative source of power than leave their home country due to the dilapidated infrastructure. It’s an individual decision. |
MrBrownJay1:Wonder why you are attacking him. He accomplished in Nigeria what he wouldn’t have accomplished in USA. Everybody’s situation/case is different and best to do what works for you. One of my father’s friends became ACCA certified in the mid - 80s. They were less than 10 in Nigeria then but he kept complaining about the problems of Nigeria and relocated to U.K. working one contract job to another. The best he got out of it was a council house which he lived in till he passed on early this year. He insisted on being buried in Nigeria claiming he had suffered too much in the England. Know what you have and do what works for you. |
dingbang:I meant $50,000 for the set of 12 tyres. It’s a typo bro no need being all aggressive. |
segun18:Not a joke. He/she probably doesn’t know that aircraft tyres are filled with nitrogen at 200psi. Set of tyres for Boeing 777 cost about $50,000. Will you buy a tyre for that amount and take to a road side vulcaniser to fill up ? Do road side vulcanisers even have nitrogen pumps ? |
Shellsploit:In what capacity are you recommending this ? A tyre blowout is not abnormal in aviation and that is why there are two tyres on both sides of the aircraft to complement each other. AIB inspected the scene / aircraft and returned the aircraft to the carrier because they found nothing abnormal . |
sweetoma:There was a PNP draw . Canadian government don’t care about FSW or CEC or PNP. All they want is to meet their immigration targets. For now CEC and PNP are taking them closer to their targets so they are doing as they please |
nowhere:How do you know ? Many have shared their encounters ( both positive and negative feedback ) |
You guys always building mansion in the air how far with Green Africa airline and Nord motors una wan copy Anambra guys Airpeace and innoson
Are you minding them? On this same nairaland someone told me I was jealous of green Africa And all that telling us how they’ll run Airpeace out of business . One thing I like about Airpeace is their talk and do spirit . In 2018 Allen Onyema said they’d launch operations to UAE , India , Johannesburg and China . As at today they’ve launched operations to UAE and South Africa with many charter flights to Indian and China. He said they’d buy 4 wide body Boeing 777 . Today they have 3 . He said he has ordered for 13 embraer E195-E2. Today 3 have been delivered . He said he ordered for 10 737 max 8. I know it will be delivered . Green Africa told Nigerians they had ordered 50 A220s and we believed. I checked Airbus order book (published online) didn’t see a thing like that when I mentioned it here they started attacking me lol. Now they leased some 3 ATR aircrafts and started selling tickets (16k) for June 2021. Today is July 20 2021 and they don’t have an AOC yet . Customers who bought tickets have not been refunded . They have all gone to rest . |
Furious1:How do you know ? There are many successful businessmen in onitsha that are not even known . Before the United Nigerian airline founder launched his airline he was not well known, if his airline grows and dominates the airspace the way Airpeace did people like you will start asking questions about his source. |
Where did hair dresser Alakija got money to buy stake in Agbami, do you know it was Atiku that funded the purchase of Globalcom licence not Adenuga money
Why are you even answering them. The last time I checked Allen onyema’s Airpeace had commissioned the embraer 195-E2 into service as the launch customer for Africa. Tomorrow his company is kickstarting operations to Freetown , Banjul and Dakar. Next month they are launching operations to Gombe and Yaoundé (Cameroon). Man’s company size , staff strength and contribution to FG revenue is growing while some people are here on nairaland asking about his source of income. At least I watched the fidelity bank CEO admit that they funded the acquisition of the first 7 aircrafts Airpeace started operations with in 2014. When someone is labouring for a business nairaland distractors are no where to be found when the business starts yielding fruits they start throwing stones. If Allen Onyema was not successful why did FG award him multi-billion naira contracts ? Why did the oil giants fund his projects ? America accusing him of transferring $24milliok is not enough reason for me to call him a frontman as I know the west has never seen anything good in Africa so I don’t expect them to praise him. |
sweetoma:With the backlog from 2020 issuing out ITAs without clearing the outstandings will only add to the issues . At least they should consider those who are losing points due to age change |
adexyone:Kindly exercise patience as there is not much you can do to speed things up. A reminder that life is not all rosy out there. A teaser of the quality of service delivery after paying CAD1400 + in application fees . No communication or feedback or updates . Some will say covid is the reason but I don’t buy that in 2021. Please don’t put your life on hold. Live your life like normal and when they are ready they’ll email you. |
GraciousWords:There is a customised document upload function unique to each applicant. For person A the required documents to be uploaded will be different from person B. When I submitted mine I did not submit my IELtS result. Two months later I wondered how I made such an error/omission but upon review I figured out that it was not part of the documents requested. I asked at a forum and almost everyone bashed me telling me how my application will be rejected as it was meant to be uploaded as part of the education section. I applied for gcms notes and it stated that case analyst /program assistant verified my scores on the language provider site. If in doubt call IRCC so you don’t get confused by some overzealous people here |
illicit:He’s not sharp. Cheating a system doesn’t make one sharp . In Japan working conditions are very tough (for citizens inclusive) combined with working without a valid Work permit he’ll be in for some brutal experience. |
Rubyventures:When I use BA they fly me out of Abuja in their oldest equipments (Boeing 777-200er). When I use same BA out of London to Dubai or elsewhere they fly me in their modern A350 (more comfort ) partly because they don’t value Nigerians. When I fly Ethiopian they use there best planes out of Abuja or Lagos ( Dreamliner or the silent A350or the newer 777-300er) . The average Nigerian will pick BA over ethiopian any day because BA is British and Ethiopian is owned by poor Ethiopia. That’s the point I’m making. Not all Nigerian airlines offer poor service in any case if you are operating in the Nigerian aviation environment the quality of your service delivery will drop . Richard Branson was a global brand in aviation but the moment he came to Nigeria as virgin Nigeria his airline (in Nigeria) was no different from any other Nigerian airline . Poor baggage handling , delays , cancellations, disputes and all the issues common across Nigerian airlines . Baggage drop off is an option available to many airlines globally but if that option is made available in Nigeria our people will resist it because they trust the British system more. My opinion is my opinion . Don’t have to agree with it . Nigerian aviation is well regulated and maintenance flaws are not a norm. Recently Azman had its license suspended for flaunting some rules . The civil aviation airspace has suffered no disaster in almost 10 years . Do British airlines treat Nigerians any better ? When BA dumped Lagos passengers in Accra instead of Abuja some people helped justify the action by saying Abuja airport was not safe. That is an effect of colonialism. Praising bad treatment and seeing nothing wrong in what they do |
Niece:If a Nigerian airline asks its passengers to do this they’ll attack the airline and destroy their image both online and offline. Same Nigerians will go to U.K. and not complain. Colonialism really messed up a lot of us. There’s this belief that the Nigerian man / brand is substandard in anyway while that of the European/American is superior/perfect |
SmartPolician:He wasn’t jailed for corruption. He was jailed on contempt charges for refusing to appear before a panel investigating state capture . In any way that panel was setup to embarrass him and when he asked the chair to recourse himself and missed three summons they went to their Supreme Court and sentenced him to prison . No different from apartheid rollings. Now his supporters are causing a lot of damage to even innocent business owners . It’s not worth it . Would have been better if he was jailed for being guilty of corruption |
Raph82:He stopped honoring the commission's summons because he has an issue with the chair which believes will influence the outcome. He asked the chair to recurse himself but instead the chair remained seat tight and began to witch-hunt him. Something like Zuma having messy divorce with a relative of the chair or so (don't know the full details). Strengthening democracy on one hand and destruction of lives/properties on another hand. I'm even beginning to hear some of Zuma's enemies condemn the judgement. Apparently they even went straight to the highest court making it difficult/impossible for him to utilize his rights to appeal. On Zuma's part he should have seek better legal advice to avoid this |
Raph82:Nobody is above the law but in africa actions like this have implications that could lead to destruction of lives and properties. Zuma is still popular and many will not accept that he was sentenced without trial simply because he did not honor an invitation to a panel setup to investigate a nuclear deal and other state capture allegations. He’ has not been found guilty of corruption or murder . First offender for contempt , 80 years old , ex deputy president and ex president being messed up using the law will definitely not go down well with his supporters and hence the backclash |
Officialgarri:Well I learnt about 10 years ago from an Indian cab driver that holding a British passport doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy all the privileges due to a citizen. He held a British passport as his grand parents migrated to U.K. in the 60s but he lamented at how the system still didn’t recognise him and many non Anglo-Saxon of them each time he applied for one benefit or the other. In this case I’m not sure the British government are on his side . Calling on the Bristosh government to help out won’t do much as if they wanted to they’d have started making moves before now |
Youngvegetable:Lol the barriers to enter nnpc are so tough and tricky that even senior staff there advise young ones to get another job and be working while pursuing nnpc on the side. |
ELKHALIFAISIS:What could have gone wrong ? There are some young boys in their 30s who came out of flying school and joined Airpeace as freshers 2014/2015 . Some of them joined from arik before they turned 30. Today in same Airpeace these young boys are first officers on Boeing 777. 777 is a complex aircraft used by most major airlines globally. There is even one edo boy that use to be at aero and joined Airpeace shortly after they started. Today he’s a captain and also the fleet manager of there newest embraer . Those aircrafts are the newest release of embraer and even the first in Africa. Still surprised that this celebrity pilot is not up up there in the industry. |
georgeakins:A failed businessman running a multimillion naira business. If you’re a money bag or president today will you hand over money to a non-entity to setup/manage an airline for you ? Will fidelity bank finance deals for a failed business man? Will NCAA grant AOC to a failed businessman. I don’t agree with your submission . I know doctors that never practiced after medical school. That doesn’t make them a failure |
ELKHALIFAISIS:Perception/noise sells ooh as a kid the way I heard about her husband being a pilot I really thought by now he’ll be chief pilot of a major carrier or an aviation executive. Was surprised to see him flying the ERJ145 on Airpeace . That’s the smallest equipment on their fleet. But then I may not know anything about aviation to rank a pilot based on the aircraft type he flies |
Saynoomore:Cool. Work on your profile within the law and try not solicit assistance if you can. I mentioned to my high school friend that I applied for a PR and if it comes through I’ll land for three weeks to do some networking and return to naija to build on the network. Somehow he felt I was planning to stay in his house for that three weeks and didn’t respond to my message. He shared that thought with someone. And I told that person to remind him that in Johannesburg I lived at a service apartment (sandton Skye ) when his sister visited . In New York I lived at a concierge apartment in Manhattan . In Scotland as a student I lived at a 2-bed apartment when he came to spend a week with me .How does he now think I won’t be able to accommodate myself for three weeks in CA. It’s just funny how some of our people reason once they land in CA but that’s the reality so prepare yourself. One of the recent migrants who left Nigeria in 2020 told me he won’t be able to attend his sister’s wedding in October due to the security situation in Nigeria. I told him if raising ticket money was a problem he should say so and not make those in Nigeria feel like they are in war front lol (was joking with him but ). Learn the french and do your thing. Don’t rely on men |
Lagbaja88:Well I cant speak for Canada as I've never lived there but in the places I've lived these agencies exist as advisory bodies. They wont solve the problems most immigrants have. A chinese can house a fellow chinese for 8 months till he's able to get on his feet. Same with the indians. There are big businesses run by indians/chinese and they tend to employ each other. Nigerians tend to compete with one another. They also tend to be suspicious of each other. On another note Nigerians in the west are economically weak compared to the asians. All these factors make it difficult for those willing to extend their support to be able to do so. |
Goodnigga:Yep and I also like to add that people should plan every bit of their migration. I know people tend to believe being able to survive in Nigeria means being able to survive anywhere but planning is very necessary as the support system for new immigrants in the western world is kind of weak. Every man for himself . The Asians are a lot better in this regard but planning is good. |
lola0999:I've read about people getting procedural fairness letter to explain sudden lumps sums . I suggest you stick to naira if your savings/income is in naira and you have very limited time between now and when you'd submit your application |
Martinkev:Nobody knows what IRCC is thinking but its safe to say that the first few FSW draws will see a very high score but will eventually settle around 470 before the year runs out . For those in the 460s they should consider applying to PNPs as a backup |
Returned from my one week trip to j'burg yesterday. Weather is pretty much cold with most stores closing at 9pm due to the 10pm curfew that was imposed while I was there. Travelled on Ethiopian but honestly that trip was very stressful. I wish I used a direct flight but air peace doesnt operate the route on fridays. The return leg was even worse. Airpeace and ethiopian boarding gates were next to each other at Or Tambo with ethiopian departing at 11:30pm and air peace departing at 11:55pm. By the time I got to Addis ababa on monday morning (4:05 am nigerian time) and connected to the airport wifi my friend who boarded the airpeace flight messaged me that she had landed in Lagos and was waiting to exit the aircraft. I spent another three hours wondering around a boring airport and flew another 5 hours to Lagos. Nevertheless trip was good. Host picked me up from Or Tambo when I arrived, took me to their home and dropped me off at maslow hotel sandton where I lodged. Meetings/dinner took me to rosebank , pineslops and brayston (clubbing). On another note the demand for South african residence permit is very high. Most of the menial jobs are done by illegal immigrants from lesotho, mozambique, malawi, swaziland, zambia and zimbabwe. There are many illegal immigrants (nigerians inclusive). South Africa also has a history of unionism which makes it easier for employers of menial labour to hire illegal foreign workers who wouldn't stress them as the locals will do. Met Nigerian bouncers at a night club, Nigerian cab drivers and a Nigerian lab technician who took my sample for a covid test. Also rode in an Uber driven by a Nigerian but the moment he figured I was Nigerian he changed his Nigerian music and began to try to imitate a south african accent. For those going to study I suggest you target the prestigious schools as there are many colleges that offer admission letters to foreigners but with little prospect to employers after graduation. |
