shollish:Kenya airways is from Lagos . Either way you’ll have to travel to Lagos. The delays with airpeace are on their local route but on South Africa and UAE( now suspended) they always keep to time. Also kenya airways will take you to Nairobi (5hrs ) and then another 4:30hrs to Johannesburg (excluding transit time). Just buy airpeace PH - Johannesburg and they’ll place you on the last flight , you won’t have to even worry about collecting your bag in Lagos as they’ll transfer it for you. Last flight will get to Lagos 9pm and you’ll have four hours before the second leg. |

powerfulguy:Lol atiku did not sell his shares anything. He’s only done what he did to dissociate his person from intels . The companies that bought his shares are indirectly his |
AltarBoy1:You have spoken well brother. Although business is not for everyone and some cannot deal with the ups and downs. But I tell people that in Nigeria every youth should strive to be a businessman or woman because most Nigerian employers are Terrible. The banking sector has been handed over to selfish hawks who have buried professionalism and careers for profits. In an environment like ours being a business person should be a must for most employees |
OlakunmiSMELTD:Do the right thing. Cousin does not equal sibling. You may need to present your birth certificate and cousin’s birth certificate and both have to show the same parent names . |
Prettiepearlz:I would would suggest BCS as you’ve got an IT background and I believe you work in the technology field . Are you planning to change fields to accounting ? If it’s strictly for immigration points you’ll need some serious commitment |
canttedra:Looking more like she’s not willing to make an effort. What happens after you get married and relocate her to USA on a spousal visa ? House wife ? Encourage her to take GRe and move as a student |
MrJibana:He’s a disabled man that was why they left him . |
Kaduna1stson:This particular passenger has been banned by arik and airpeace due to his violent behaviour. Only Dana and one other airline allows him to board their aircraft. I spoke to a friend who works at arik and he told me that the handlers of disabled passengers close at 8pm in Lagos thus he has been adviced long before now to plan his travels in the daytime. Oga showed up yesterday for an evening/night flight . When they told him that there will be no staff to evacuate him at the destination he got violent in his usual way lol break their computers and slamming their office. Interestingly nobody stopped him instead they were recording him in the act . |
pbayagbon:In as much as I don’t know you personally I’ll be glad for every applicant to get the PR with little difficulties. When you claim siblings points I believe there’s a documentation that will follow (may be birth certificate showing same parents names ). To successfully claim these points you’ll need maximum cooperation of your siblings. |
pbayagbon:Tobi should not push it. How can you not know the DOB of your sibling ? If you have enough points apply without them |
larrypha:This aligns with the NOC for a Software Engineer |
vigopress:90% of this money will come from the VAT collected in Lagos/ogun and crude oil receipts from the south-south. Some day true leaders will be elected at the different states/constituencies and put an end to this arrangement |
airminem:I used to say same if African and Nigerian airlines about 8 years ago but then aviation is a very well regulated industry and it all changed in 2014 when I worked on a ticketing app upgrade for an aviation company in U.K. and got to learn about the industry . Nigeria holds an FAA Cat 1 rating which was renewed in 2018 (a testimony that safety standards are up to standard). Ghana , kenya and many African countries have been unable to attain this. Secondly NCAA are very strong in their safety oversight on Nigerian airlines. Also arik successfully held EASA and FAA certification which enabled it operate into U.K. and USA respectively. In addition to other information I got to know about I began flying African airlines in 2015 and it has been a good ride all through at lower rates. |
Robert1da:My Ghanaian friend who worked at emirates was more pro-emirates than the emiratis. She used every opportunity to condemn Africa world in comparison to emirates. At the start of the pandemic she was fired in the most humiliating way. She’s currently in tema depressed and off social media. There is nothing as good as your own. If Nigerian airways was successful today pilots, captains and all would have enjoyed it. In the absence of that you either struggle to build the sector here or you work abroad. I’m glad seeing ex American Airlines and delta airlines employees doing great things in Nigerian aviation and fighting the anti-development aviation agencies who are ready to to kill all operators . All in all I’m for The development of African aviation. I remember how Ethiopian was in 2001/2002 but today they are a force to reckon with. Hopefully one or more nigerianairline will get it right very soon |
HigherEd:It’s an image saving response. It shouldn’t take any organisation more than 2-3 days to process a transcript request. I sent such request recently to my former uni and transcript was electronically transmitted to WES within 24hours with a response from the university. In Nigeria people just complicate simple issues |
SeniorGee:Lol does your family friend have a legal residence status in New Brunswick ? Please oohh there’s no requirement that you must have know anyone in Canada. Make your application like you are alone. A human being can disappoint you. |
Toludebs:More like 2174 |
Cassie74:Have you wondered why every airline keeps to time when they are new in the business and begin to disappoint afterwards? Same fate awaits ibom air. They currently operate only 4 or 5 routes with about 7 aircrafts. The moment they expand their operations you’ll find that they won’t be able to maintain punctuality. This happens because when operating maximally in aviation you have one aircraft serving multiple cities in a day thus any delay in the value chain disrupts flight schedules . When you have one aircraft leave Lagos at 6:30 am to arrive Abuja at 7:30am and leave Abuja at 7:15am to arrive uyo at 8am and leave uyo at 9:00am to Kano and so on. In this value chain if your fuel supplier disappoints you along the way your passengers across different cities will encounter delays throughout the day. All airlines in Nigeria go through this phase including the virgin Atlantic powered virgin Nigeria. Ibom air is currently loss making as there aircrafts are on the ground most of the time. |
NtoAkwaIbom:I don’t doubt you one bit even though I don’t know udom or been to akwa ibom. Udom believes the elite are humans and others are animals. Go and ask about udom in zenith bank and they’ll tell you how he treated the non-elite junior staff during his time there |
Saying one thing and doing another . Ethiopian and emirates built a hub in their respective cities. Ibom air is building a hub out of Lagos . From uyo they only fly to two destinations (Abuja and Lagos ) whereas from Lagos they fly to Enugu , uyo , calabar , Abuja and other destinations they are planning . Thus they are building a hub in Lagos and not uyo. Same way airpeace claimed to want to build a hub in Enugu but in real sense Lagos is their hub. |
flokii:All I can say is that there graduates still perform well in the industry irrespective of their style of learning which for me is a factor you cannot ignore. Secondly education is not cheap globally . Covenant gets financing from the church too otherwise feds would have been more expensive . |
JesusJesus:Well in this case ordinary travellers like me have always known about arik’s poor financial health but the management did everything to keep these employees on unpaid leave pending when things got better. Same employees continuously went to arik’s various outlets to disrupt operations and prevent customers from travelling. In my opinion Nigerian aviation unions are one of the worst set of employees out there . Currently they are also holding the aviation minister to ransom for trying to concession some terminal buildings to offer better services to passengers. They prefer the current system where Nigeria’s airports are one of the worst in west Africa . In 2003 knowing the kind of people that constituted the unions, Obasanjo forcefully used the police to shut down Nigerian airways and end the employment of everyone . It was anti-democratic but that was the only way he could stop the revenue leakage there. |
ednut1:Why not ask the person more questions to better understand his point |
Debbieeeeeee:Good job brother. Don’t relent or be discouraged . I saw the attitude of Nigerians first hand when I lived in Upper marlboro area of Maryland as a student. It was all about competing over who owned the best clothing, who partied the most and other frivolous activities. On Saturday a friend mentioned BCS to me and how he could earn 33 points if he passed it. Between then and now I’ve mentioned it to about 5 people who I feel may be interested or may stand a chance. I may not have POF to offer them but it’s my own little way of contributing |
ednut1:I don’t believe the Chinese and Indians always had money. This culture of theirs over the years is what has brought generational wealth their way. In Lagos the Indians patronise each other. Grocery shopping from Indian stores , dinner from Indian restaurants and many more. During the lockdown members of the Indian keralite tribe came together and chartered an aircraft ( Nigerian airline) and also lobbied their embassy to facilitate a landing permit for the Nigerian airline which evacuated them to their hometown (kerala). On my part I was added to a whatsapp group trying to get a flight back home and it was one confusion upon another with no level of consistency and some members of the group even vowing not to entrust their money with any Nigerian airline . To my amazement I saw Nigerians basically begging British airways to accept them (not for free). Plans eventually failed and we ended up relying on the high commission. This is an example of how we differ from the Asians. No collective interest in any form . All the same things will get better |
Igethope:Yes Nigeria has never been a major beneficiary of the Canadian PR system . Coming here you’ll think many people from Nigeria are migrating but it has been an average of about 400 ITAs per month with a good number of applicants applying from within Canada. My guess is this: The Asians have a very strong support system in USA, Canada , U.K. , Kenya and South Africa such that they tend to facilitate migration and share opportunities among themselves. This is contrary to the average Nigerian who sees the next person as a potential competitor. When you go on YouTube there are lots of Canadian immigration videos sponsored by Indian bloggers/vloggers actively sharing information and attracting members of the Indian community. I know a good number of Nigerians who would have qualified for express entry two years ago but have lost points due to age as they were not aware then. The dynamics is changing now and the numbers from Nigeria will increase gradually. On our part let us continue to encourage and support one another with relevant information on the application process, landing process, accommodation , settlement and job opportunities. |
tungamaje:These cities were settler colonies developed by Germans (Windhoek )and still pretty much in their control. Sometimes the ways of my fellow Africans surprise me . Anti progressive |
A great news to all those stuck at 469 and 470. Hopefully it will drop further in December for our brothers and sisters who are waiting |
