I have been thinking about Rule of Law, Democracy, Due process and etc. I believed so many people would have thought about them the same way I did.

Anyway the question that actually and usually comes to my mind is this; where rule of law failed, what do we resort to? I want your opinion on this issue. Thank you.

Technically speaking...they could be made ministers....but they would have to resign from the Senate...and a supplementary election would be held in their constituencies to replace them.

It has never happened though (Atiku was made PDP's VP candidate when he had just been selected as the PDP governorship candidate for Adamawa in 1999).

Not selected but won the governorship election given his vice the opportunity to became the governor of adamawa in 1999

Sometimes, it is like I am heartless but how can a man earning dat amount not know dat he shud zip up and quit bringing in more children into this world.. he hate to see them suffer but all he does is things that brings suffering... thank God for thisday newspaper..

There are things in life that go beyond human explanation. If this man had zipped up, meaning he has zipped up his suffering forever. God has His own ways of doing things that we can't explain.

Hear this, my parents were blessed with 7 children. If they had zipped up at the second attempt. Which were set of twins and the first daughter, only God knows my parents could still be living in a rented one room and parlour apartment. Our last born the 7th in the line was the that first built house for our parents parents.

Then people were saying 7 children are too much. This is a blessing to my family.

Politics / Re: Six Campaign Promises Buhari Will Never Fulfill - Opinion by aboabai(m): 7:16am On Jul 10, 2015
Some of these promises are achievable with genuine intention and sincerity of.mind. If you think about the annual loots of all our leaders from local government to state government to federal government and all government officials at all levels, we can genuinely conclude that yes some are do able.

I can write a proposal on some of these issues if our government can buy in to it, in no time some of these issues will be history.

We have all it takes to be in the league of countries ruling the world, one of our problems is we don't buy into people's idea as it's not your/our idea.

Election is over now, our primary concern now should be how to move the great nation forward not minding your political affiliation .

It should be a clarion call to all of us, let us lift this nation high irrespective of the weather condition. Let us service our nation with dedication and selfless service, there is no nation we can call ours except for this great nation.

Finally am willing and ever ready to help provided they can listen to this idea.

God bless Nigeria and her citizens. Amen

Why should I care if someone calls me a gorilla, when I know I am not. As far as I am concerned only someone who is disabled, deaf, dumb, blind, et al should be upset if he or she is in anyway insulted, because they had their way they would be able. If someone insults me because of my skin tone, as far I as I am concerned he or she is just being silly, and I won't feel bad. The only reason to feel bad is IF I WISHED I WAS WHITE, which I don't. If the tin pain you too much insult the guy back, pure and simple

Racial abuse is not just what you think, if you personally have been abused with some racial comments I can assure you that you will never taken it the way you are taking it now. This is a very serious issue around the globe now. If someone call you gorilla. Don't you know what it means, not just you is being called gorilla, the entire black race is being racially abuse. It's a very serious and sensitive issue. For instance, a white man visited your area and people were excited seeing white man, maybe your mum who happened to be there offer him a hand shake but unfortunately this man refused openly to sake your mum, maybe a press who was around asked him why he refused handshake and the only reason he could give is how can I shake gorilla right in your presence what will you do or say? 'I don't care I guess'. Think about it.

oduastates:
All states in the SW should go ahead and demolish all illegal structures, shacks ,rubbish and paanty which litters the region.
Remove those illegal structure and encroaching fences and what you will see is space . Living space ,Breathing space , walking space . Space which can be turned into sidewalks , build drainage , lay water pipes , fibre to cabinet or fibre to home lines, bicycle lanes.
All those wooden benches ,stalls and containers .
Those tomatoes seller should be given collapsible plastic stalls which must be removed at the end of the day.
High street which can be shut down for conversion into temporarily markets ,4 days a week ,must be identified and made available to those who are willing to pay taxes into the tills of the local government.
I was on holidays 3 months ago , the feeling I have whenever I come back into the mess remains the same as it was 6 years .
Nigeria is one big eyesore.
No greens, no open spaces , no planning ,no air to breathe . Just people living on top of each other .
Do not get me started on Those okada, tricycles churches ,mosques, generator noises, twisted wires on electricity and telecommunications pole, open drainage or lack of and beeping of horn .
The LASG should dust up her law books and start enforcing them .
The laws are mostly derived from the British common law. They should be enforced.
Spare part sellers , tomato seller, suya seller , yam seller, lacasera and everybody in between must be made to learn how to live and work decently.
Baba kekeere (jakande) was well known for his bull dozers.
The ogun state government should take control of the mowe , Ibafo area as well . Many areas in that axis have become a giant slum
Ambode should get rid of that Fashola's mega city project.
Where does he want to put 50 million people ? Ogun state has plenty of land to contain everybody and you can see this from the air when you are approaching murtala airport. Just organise/control the release and conversion of farm land into urban dwellings.
Instead of mega city, plan for a series of small manageable cities and towns linked by branching/lateral rail lines , and a central line linking Lagos , Ibadan and ogun . If you do not live in gbagada phase 2 , Victoria Island,Ikoyi , lekki, shangisha, magodo and places like that, it is very difficult find a decent environment to raise a child in a Lagos .
In fact , I would recommend that all states do the same.
Lastly tax (congestion charge) private users of cars like Singapore ( which conducts an annually renewable lottery for vehicle licenses and those who won must pay through their noses)and emphasise cycling .
Most journeys people make are less than 15 minutes by bicycle.
Too many damn cars and the resulting hold up/pollution

I actually support all your views, things needed to be done in the right ways, we have lost so many things to not doing it right and this has affected us in all works of life. The earlier we kick start the better.

For the demolition proper notice should be given and the actual date the operation will be carried out should be known so that government on its part will be fair and not as a result of just concluded political activities.

Let us all support good governance, majority of structures in Nigeria need demolition and reconstruction with well planned structure. All recreation lands in Lagos have been converted by our criminal leaders to personal properties and uses.

The earlier we start the better for us. So wherever the is pain there is always gain.
Politics / Re: List Of Roads Lagos State Govt. Has Scheduled For Repairs by aboabai(m): 10:19pm On Jun 27, 2015
Don't you think about this?

If all state Governors are doing what they ought to be doing at the same time, good roads, provision of water, schools, medical facilities, job creations etc.

What do you think federal government will be doing? Federal roads and sharing of of common wealth from the federal pulse. Less job for federal more jobs for states.
Crime / Re: Kano Sharia Court Sentences 8 To Death For Blasphemy by aboabai(m): 10:54pm On Jun 25, 2015
parisbookaddict:

Nigeria is a secular state technically but the reality is that Nigeria has 3 main judicial systems,

The sharia, customary and our constitutional court system modelled after the UK judicial system(tho in need of massive updates and upgrades).

In the north in a state that practices the sharia you can marry a 9 year old, be stoned for adultery, be beheaded for blasphemy, hands chopped off for stealing even if u are hungry and stole a piece of bread and lynched if u accidentally desecrate the quran and it is 100% legal because Nigeria approves of the sharia law as a judicial system.

Marrying 9 year old girl is allowed in sharia! This should be one of the greatest sins to God and humanity. I still do not understand. Men are taking stand of God in whatever they do. They fight for God, they even know more than God. Cutting hands for stealing for someone who stole because of hunger. There is nothing like rehabilitation, corrective measures, Repentance and ask for forgiveness. God have mercy.

There should be capital punishment for this kind of offence. They are not worthy to represent their households let alone people of Nigeria.
My suggestion is this , let them tender their voluntary resignation from the house as they are disgrace to human community and our nation. This is seen world wide. What are they fighting for? Their selfish interest and not people's interest.

Mine wasn't a job interview, wanted to collect my JSCE certificate in my secondary school recently, the principal was asking me questions, I simply said yes, she said I should say Yes ma! Well I took to the correction though. Another I heard was a guy that was defending his project before a panel, with professors sitted, they asked for his name and he said" Mr..." Instead of simply saying his name, they said he was proud and arrogant and simply walked him out.

When are going for any kind of interview you have to be very careful as the first impression formed about you could last till the end of the process and form an integral part of their decision making regarding your performance. Performance cut across everything you said and did during the interview. So you have to humble yourself when you are in an interview of any sort.

Yeah is an informal word in English meaning yes, in a formal engagement such as job interview you should be very careful as your action , your words, your approach to answering questions, your presentation, your seriousness , your analytical mind and skill are what will sum up to get you the job. Knowing fully well that you are not the only one for the interview. Elimination process can take any form, so be mindful of your choice of word during interview.

Buhari must not disappoint or go back on his words.

We are not afraid to call u a liar and cakll for your impeachment, if you do.

This is not an excuse. He needs to let us know the current situation of things. Whatever expectation you have just believe that Buhari will try his best to put this nation of track. Nigeria has derailed decades ago. A 4 year term is not enough to put everything right. All what we need is a brand new start and this will not just happen overnight without serious overhauling of the entire system. We need a workable structure that is corruption intolerant, to even start this process he needs couple of weeks to diagnose the handing over documents. The whole system is decayed you and I know that, so don't let us be too quick in judging this administration. I am neither APC nor PDP. I am a Nigerian who has the nation's interest at the centre of my heart. Take for instance David Cameron is returned as Prime Minister of Great Britain, over six weeks now it's meetings and reiterating of promises. This is normal as consultations and meetings with people and professionals in all areas and works of life are also part of the change process. So election is over let us give him time to concentrate and give us what we want. It's a very huge task that one month can not be use to measure his performance. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria, her citizens and the President.
