FYI oliseh and emenalo have little or no coaching experience and u feel they would win d afcon and take nigeria to d WC semis ?
Its one thing to be a good analyst,its another to be a good coach.
Analyzing football on t.v is different from coaching a football team.
Some very poor coaches are good analysts.
Oliseh should coach one of the youth teams(U-17 or U-23) 1st to know wether he is a good coach or not.
Cos for now,we only know him to be a good football analyst.
If he succeeds with a junior team,then we can CONSIDER making him the coach of the senior team.Or he can be made assistant coach.
You cant just appoint someone with little coaching experience as the coach of the senior national team,same with emenalo.
Emenalo is just the sporting director at chelsea and also the chief scout.He is NOT a coach.
Emenalo and Oliseh are the kind of people you make Technical assistants NOT head coach.

With all sincerity, I believe that whoever does residency in a particular specialty should be appointed a consultant. Physiotherapists stand a very high chance of becoming consultants who would be useful in health care practice. Very very useful.

But, what will be the role of consultant nurses, lab scientists and pharmacists? From my research, consultant nurses and pharmacists in US and other advanced countries don't work in hospitals. They work in places like psychiatric and geriatric homes. Their working in hospitals will cause a lot of confusion, as it happened in a teaching hospital where a consultant pharmacist went inside a ward and started cancelling prescriptions made by a consultant cardiologist.

If other health workers will develop their post graduate colleges and start residency, then they can be appointed consultants when they become specialists, but not based on years of service. In that case, they will be willing to face the risk of losing their jobs and applying afresh as consultants, in which they may or may not be employed. Also, the onus lies on each hospital to determine how many consultants it will need. Believe me, most hospitals in Nigeria won't need consultant nurses and pharmacists, cos they have very little extra to impart in the health care as consultants, compared to how much their salaries will be.

JOHESU is an amorphous body. They should come and fight as individual professional groups. What applies to physiotherapists may not apply to nurses. Consultant physiotherapist makes sense, but not consultant nurse. There is also no need for consultant radiographers and optometrists when consultant radiologists and ophthalmologists are available. What value will the consultant radiographers and optometrists impart that the radiologist and ophthalmologist can't? It will bring anarchy in health care practice. What will consultant lab scientists do in the labs? Even abroad, they mostly don't work in hospitals, but just consult in different facilities just like consultants in other disciplines generally.

I just pray the government will handle this issue maturely and bring a lasting solution to this chaos. God bless us all.
