Burshh: Definitely not Mojec . Quite sure you came up with this because it is a big industry name in metering and headed by a woman. How shallow? You better stop pulling people's name down under the guise of assumption.

Previous thread https://www.nairaland.com/8097443/margaret-oyibo-onah-missing-abuja[/quote]It is sad. The uncle just narrated that this lady was in abroad with the husband (allegedly occultic man) whom she had two kids for. The husband sent the lady back to her parents in Nigeria under the guise that the lady has become unstable. Depression took hold of the woman and perhaps she became mentally unstable, resulting to the reason she absconded from the house and maybe got into the hands of wrong persons. Still not obvious if she committed suicide or if she was murdered. May her pretty soul rest in peace.
WannaHowzit: The Secretary to the Parliament of South Africa has presented the latest update on the rebuilding of parliament – which has ballooned into a 3-billion rand project ($170 million).
The oft-delayed repairs and upgrades to the Old Assembly and National Assembly buildings in Cape Town are being done after they were gutted by a fire in January 2022.
The National Assembly will be demolished and replaced with a biophilic structure (mimicking nature) – in this case, resembling a protea, South Africa’s national flower and symbol of parliament, as well as having a design conceptualised around ‘sitting under a yellowwood tree’.
While R2 billion was initially projected to be the cost of the repairs and upgrades, this has been revised upwards slightly to R2.1 billion.
The re-do will also encompass the replacement of ICT infrastructure and an overall modernisation of the facilities which will cost a further R943 million.
This brings the total up to R3 billion – with the additional budget for the ICT infrastructure.
Timelines for the project have again been revised, with the final handover and completion moving from December 2025 to 20 April 2026. The final account and closeout is now expected in July 2026 (previously February 2026).
Demolition of the old parliament was previously expected to commence from April 2024 with construction starting in May – but this has also been pushed back, to July and August 2024, respectively.
As part of the update, parliament has also launched a new website to track the process, as well as a WhatsApp chatbot where South Africans can “have their say” on the project.
Parliament also presented a virtual tour of the build, along with other concept and design images.
It looks intelligent and smart for a serious nation unlike Nigeria National assembly complex that looks like a mosque

tuzle: I was discussing with a friend of mine who is a teacher in a private school. I jokingly told him that as par there will be a public holiday tomorrow, that he would have a day rest when work hasn't started yet. That was how he told me that the school asked them to come around tomorrow, that they will be going for publication to distribute fliers around the environment.
Now my problem with this is that this particular school each arm has A to E (for example jss1 A to E) and they have more than 30 students in each class. So I was wondering why they are now troubling their teachers for something that isn't in their job description.
Like why can't the owner employ people to help him do the publication or go to radio or tv station for advert and the fact the teachers won't be paid for what they are doing as it is counter by the owner as part of their work. Is this behavior proper because it kinds of sounds annoying to me working in the sun on a public holiday just because of the owners selfish interest.

Your friend or you are a lazy greedy staff. What's wrong in publicising where you work and salary being paid to you? If the school increases and more money, your salary can increase too. We meet in school tomorrow
Good day my people, Please, what do I really have to do now?
I started a Master of Arts program in 2019 which was unfortunately obstruced and delayed by the prolonged ASUU strike and COVID-19 national lockdown.
We eventually completed the program in 2023 and I proceeded to get a clearance to apply for the statement of result, but to the shock of my life, I was denied clearance because there is a deficiency in my Mathematics which is P8.
I have a P8 in mathematics while i have grade A and C in the other 8 subjects, including English. Interestingly, it is the same result I used to gain admission and graduated at the undergraduate level with a Bachelors of Arts in the same University.
Also, using the same result, I applied, got admitted and was cleared to undertake a Master of Art (M.A) program in the same University. Even, at the point of clearance for admission, there was no concern raised about my "pass" grade in mathematics. Since we started the program, we were not at any time advised to make up for the deficiency, but I was really shocked when the Verification and Clearance desk refused to clear me, insisting that its a new policy in the university. I was advised with the option of registering and writing a SSCE to obtain Credit pass in Mathematics or get waiver from the HOD and Dean of the Faculty.
I approached my HOD, but he said there was nothing he could do and that the only option left for me is to write a fresh SSCE and obtain the said credit in Mathematics. He even said the situation could also affect my chance of being recommended for admission for my PhD program which I had already applied for.
I need advice and way out of this cul-de-sac. My head is hot please.
I just stumbled on a video showing Made in Nigeria vehicle tyres!
After the exit of Dunlop and Michelin, good news is here with this new tyres line. I hope the tyres are affordable to Nigerian users and sustainably so. It's good news anyway.

In a startling scene, children in Fiji are seen swimming across a turbulent river just to reach their classrooms.
The footage, shared widely on social media, shows groups of schoolchildren in their uniforms bravely navigating the swift current to reach the opposite bank.
This incident took place on the main Fijian island of Vita Levi, up in the Sigatoka Valley at the Wainiagwai stream, which eventually joins the Wainimala river.
This situation arose because the bridge, usually positioned further downstream, was washed away during floods.
