Obascoetubi: i think he had juju bullet proof, in is boday, pretended that, he don't involve in juju thing, did u know that, he used many human flesh as rituals, during election campaign... And we just lost the last shred of common sense on this topic. Were you there? Did you organize the human sacrifice for him? Any of your peeps missing? |

http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/news/173567-wada-stops-convoy-attends-to-accident-victims/url] Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State yesterday broke his protocol as he stopped his convoy to attend to accident victims personally along Kotonkarfe-Abuja expressway. The governor, who was returning to Lokoja, Kogi State capital, ordered his convoy to stop to attend to victims of the accident involving a trailer and two 18-seater Toyota Hiace buses traveling from Lagos to Lafia. A statement by Governor Wada’s special adviser on media and strategy, Jacob Edi, said the governor got out of his official car and ran across the road to give a helping hand to the victims and promptly used his mobile phone to call officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission who arrived at the scene within a short time. Moved by the fatality of the accident, Governor Wada said he will pick the medical bills of the victims who sustained various degrees of injury. No fewer than three people were feared dead in the accident while several others were rushed to the intensive care unit of the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja. Governor Wada commended officials of the FRSC for the professional way they handled the accident and sympathized with the victims. |
Bukka Seller: Do you want meat with your eba...? Broke guy: NO NO NO... I'm in a rush , I'm in a rush!!! |
If you are not just opposed to whatever GEJ does and look at the facts, this is not an uncommon practice. I'm not saying the man is a genius, but lets not get a knee jerk reaction to everything govt does. We all remember that even BP before the oil spill have contributed to communities and increased that help after the oil spill on the east coast. Many companies do it abroad and are proud to say so. That's why its called social responsibility. It also looks good on their profile. There is no doubt the local people of the area are getting the short end of the stick in this arrangement. The companies make huge profits and the locals bear the environmental costs. |
All the tips above are excellent! Now let me give you the "On-Ground" Tips 1. DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD Many of the things that seem to force you to get one you can do with a pre-paid credit card now. (Hotel, car rental on some cards even building credit) 2. AVOID THOSE NAIJA ODU EGONS There are many "egbons" here that pretend that they are looking out for you and ask "do you want to make some quick cash"? One asked me for my account number so he could move some money inside. I didn't know what he was going to do at the time but my father always told me there is never something for nothing. I politely said no. Later I realized it was cheque fraud! Can you imagine, new student to a foreign country and they try to get you in MASSIVE trouble! 3. If you need to call home, Cici is a good card. Readily available at gas stations and about 9cents per minute with no connection fee. There might be others. Get a prepaid call phone. BE VERY WEARY OF ANYTHING THAT IS A SIGNED CONTRACT WITH PERSONS OR COMPANIES. (This will make sense to you later when you arrive) 4. DO NOT BUY A CAR ABOVE YOUR BUDGET There is a temptation to buy, especially if you are younger, a car, usually German, that can be very costly to own, operate, maintain and insure. (On a side note, NEVER DRIVE WITHOUT INSURANCE). They will get you! 5. This might be controversial but, DON'T LIMIT YOURSELF TO NIGERIAN FRIENDS. You have paid a great fee to expand your horizon. Limiting yourself, as I see many do, to just the Nigerian crowd, puts an artificial ceiling to how much you are exposed to. 6. REMEMBER WHERE YOU ARE FROM Again, might be controversial but, no matter how much you might like it there, you are a foreigner. There are still, even with its chaos, greater opportunity for you in Nigeria to make it big. Unless you are not the typical money driven Nigerian. I know I am. The thing with Canada and other 1st world countries is, its all been done. Whatever you learn, always look at it from a point of view how to use it to better your country and yourself. There are a few more I can think of but I fear I'm sounding like a preacher now, Enjoy your flight and no carry anything enter plane for una pant O! |
That was the correct thing to do. |
Abi Malam dey occupy too? Why no update on prices? ![]() Anyone? |
can you send info and pricing to kendobo@gmail.com Thanks |
OMG, I would have instinctively thought the average Nigerian will be elated to hear about this. If for nothing, because the regular channels of letting your views know in a democracy seem inefficient in Nigeria. How many of you can talk to your constituents, house of rep, senators etc to get your views to the presidency? Now he puts himself out there and gets mocked? Obama's biggest tool for reaching the whitehouse was the internet, using social media. I know how much I learn about Nigeria from coming here and other websites. You can't deny it has been informative to you too. So why wouldn't we all be glad he is using it too, so that he can be more connected/informed? Give him a break! You don't have to like the man, his party or the direction he is taking the country but don't just ridicule without due cause. Ideally you should let your votes speak for you, but this is Nigeria so until that time, the next best thing seems to be facebook ![]() |
Thank you so much for the info. Will check it out. |
Thanks will look into it. I guess no actual store to walk into. |
I am talking about legit games, not burned copies. Is there a video games store in either cities? I'm asking for all platforms and PC |
I can only speak of my situation in GRA Ilorin. I am visiting home, (9ja) and power is near perfect. Every now and then we get outages for about 15mins then its on again for days, yes days! I heard the Kwara Gov also did some things to help the Ilorin situation. That being said. A lot of our local "Electricians" are a HUGE part of the problem. Untrained illiterates giving advice on what then don't know. Our house has 3 phases from NEPA. The piped them all into one phase so that whatever phase comes, there is light. That is a horrible thing to do. There is constantly low current and non of the appliances are getting enough "juice". Fridges are breaking down, A/C,s now powering up. I had them changed back to 3 phases and everything is back to normal, like I remember from back in the day. Hope this helps. |

Thank you so much. |
k*afolayan:thanks. Just to be 100% sure, I was told, post Jan 1st 2010, my un-expired old passport was going to be invalid. So this is untrue then. Sorry if I'm being pushy but the more drama I can avoid at Muritala the better ![]() |
No it is not but while I was in Nija last Xmas a customs lady said that will be the last time I'll be able to enter with it. Not sure if she just wanted a bribe or not but I didn't get a chance to get the new one before I left. |
I was wandering if anyone could clarify if I could still fly into Nigeria with my old unexpired passport. I intend to get the new E passport once in Lagos. This would be mid April this year. Thanks in advance. |
A man is only as faithful as his options If infidelity was unnatural, it will not be such a rampant issue in every culture. I believe the modern society that we find ourselves in warrants some form of marital structure that is why we are trying to adopt fidelity. I use the word trying because I don't believe it has always been like this. Can you imagine the chaos if you could freely "shag" anyone that was willing without society frowning? With egos, disease, finance etc, man's natural competitive nature, which will manifest as jealously in this case, will derail order. We have organized everything else. That being said, there is no one stick to judge a situation. There are loving polygamous homes. "Love" is hard to define and varies vastly. Like Chris Rock said about O.J. ; "I'm not saying he should have killed her, but I understand" ![]() We are all fighting our programming for the greater good. Its only human. |

My dad told me a trick that works. M A G I C He asked me if I stammer when I sing. My answer was no. So he said, just pretend you're singing! And voala, it works. Of course you won't sing really, but stream your speech like you're singing. PS. I didn't stammer till I started making fond of my brother who did, when I was seven ![]() |
