Well it hasn't been too long i graduated either. And no, i did not continue in the Anatomical career. However, i actually may opt for a lecturing job in Anatomy which i have a means to securing. Or i may decline, depending on the outcome of what i'm already into (which is actually not related to anatomy).

So, i don't think i am in a better position to give you such advice. Do you wish to continue? If yes, with a master's degree or securing a job? (just curious).

graduated from Unilorin currently serving. I'm thinking of getting DE to Med... it's very competitive though. Don't really have a secured lecturing job on ground so I'm kinda still thinking about Msc and PhD, don't want to have them and still be in search of a job... what line are you now into if I may ask ?

The highest degrees, masters and Phd holders are working in Nigerian universities with average salaries of N100,000.

Some of them have been collecting half salary since January 2017 due to recession.

People lose sight of PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. How many degrees does Bill Gates, Jack Ma, Warren Buffet and Mark Zuckerberg have ?

All this running around, is it not to have peace of mind and enough money to spend on future family ?

Invest in PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, not PAPER DEVELOPMENT. If dem tell you the number of Nigerian degree certificates collecting dust inside peoples cupboards, you will know that paper is useless.

By the way I make way more than you are making but the cost of running 24/7 gen and staff salaries and recurring expenses clocks over 500k monthly. So take my advise and move at the speed of light. Coz 500k is not money and you know it. Those who don't earn that think it's money. It is not.

As a medical student, I asked this question severally and I kept getting contrasting answers. Some would say its around N400,000 and some would say it's up to N700,000.

Those in the know should please enlighten me on how much consultants in government hospitals are paid monthly.

NB: I'm just being curious. Residency is NOT in my plans.

No... I was into importation 7 years ago. Got so much cash that I had to invest into numerous goldmines like real estate and agriculture.. I have to stop importing.. Nigerians need to understand that tartiary is not the only way of education or how to get employed. I know of someone taking home N1.2m per month salary without ever seen the corridor of a university. And may I add he's barely 27.

In some UK universities, around 10% of medical students already have a PhD. In all around 60% already have anything from BSc to PhD before reading medicine. Many fresh ones will take a break of one year within medical studies to do what is called an " intercalated BSc".

Only in 9ja/Africa does a former senator feels too big to become an LGA chairman, a former VP feels to big to become a state governor. We feel to big for certain things.

If you are passionate, you can of course do it.

That is why in the West, Schools of medicine, dentistry, etc interview each candidate long-listed for possible admission. A massive job but deemed imperative.

Surprisingly, very little is asked about academic ability. You will have proven that stellar grades already. And they have it on record.
They focus on your personality, interpersonal skills, life experience, hobbies, knowledge of foreign languages, record of involvement in charitable, volunteer or community service. Better still if have been in a care home or hospital environment or the sick or homeless people of some kind.

Basically trying to recruit people who are more rounded instead of just bookworms only. It enables candidates prepared for the profession to be admitted, not just those pushed by parents or who just have top grades without passion for it.

This can be a big ask if people interviewed are under age 20.

This increasing focus on matters in addition to academic brilliance has seen the age of medical students increase dramatically. With many now holding MSc or PhD before returning to study medicine.

People study medicine after PhD? I'm a graduate of Bsc Anatomy and I which to further by going back for Medicine... I guess I can still make it
