My little research on Naira land,concerning Edo elections,revealed that most people in support of Obasake,are really located in Edo stae,whilst most people in support of Iyamu are located outside Edo state.


Now I am convinced that Obaseki won in Edo whilst Iyamu won on Nairaland.

with all the federal allocation accrued to this state, plus NDDC allocation it beats my imagination that some of these core Niger-delta states are still in deplorable state, all because of Corruption.

Guy, you just took me down memory lane with that 2012 debate mention. Mimiko really TKO'd and took him to the cleaners. I felt even Oke performed way better than Akeredolu in that debate. It really was a sorry sight watching him speak -- no charisma, no depth, was incoherent, not eloquent at all. I sincerely hope his public speaking abilities have improved since then, for his own good.

My brother, I was really surprise. The moment that debate ended I knew Mimiko was cruising home to victory. He was just too bad.

Oke or Abraham would have been better choice for Apc, in my own opinion.

1.Was it a foolish choice ?

I can say only time will tell, placing the two figure heads together, Edo feel more comfortable with Obaseki due to the antecedents of those who surrounded Ize-iyamu , persons who impoverished the states during its darkest era. Oshiomhole (APC) made some erroneous decisions along the way during his last tenure, but we feel the impact of his dividends of democracy all around the states deserves continuity as we refused to throw the baby away with the bath water. Lucky's tenure was so bad they'll tell u they can't construct road because of Mermaid or control gully because we need to sacrifice albino yearly to reduce its ravaging impact and now add to it that ize-iyamu was his secretary then and he still feels it is best to associate with him. How sad ?


2. Was it rigged?

There was no ballot box snatching, no activity of thugs election went smoothly except in the case of money-sharing which has always been a recurring decimal in elections across the Country. Both party were culpable of this act and I feel the reason why the Apc engaged in it was as a result of what happened in Edo-South where igbinedion carried out this act to put his daughter up for House of Reps... Apc simply learnt from them and decided to outsmart PDP this time around a case of being beaten at your game.

If Edo election is so criticized even without bloodshed and what have you? what do we call Rivers' election? And as for the votes we heard all over the media were grossly false, even in Places where Apc cleared, some persons were still uploading results of pdp flawless victory. Let's think now.

I am good with Olusola Oke for governor but my concern is do the AD have structures on ground to ensure his victory?

Moreover Mimiko of PDP is a good strategist and a grassroots politician whilst APC has federal power to rig like it was alleged in Edo.

The coming gubernatorial election is dicey cos the candidates will do well in their strongholds but I hope Oke/AD will ensure solid alignments/realignment in other senatorial districts for victory.

Obaseki won bro, Edo hate pdp to the core... if you want explanation I can provided by simply pasting what I wrote is some other thread.

As for Ondo I don't see APC winning it.

Apc lost this election the moment Akerodolu was declared winner at the primary, the same SAN Mimiko schooled during a debate, I had to ask who was the lawyer and who was the doctor. He simply lacked charisma, talked as though he doesn't know what he was saying.

And the process of his ascension raised eyebrow too, the flawed process coupled with lack of internal democracy in APC at the federal level is also a minus.

At the federal level APC are yet to hit the ground running, and they don't enjoy the benefit of incumbency (like what played out in Edo where they had something to show as a way of campaigning).

Segun Abraham would have been a far better option in my opinion, or any winner provided the election was free and the delegates a rough sample of the people not manipulated, Olusola Oke leaving APC on the backdrop of a free and fair election would have correctly get the label of political-prostitute but the election was not free as observed and confirmed in some quarters hence he's simply contesting as a form of "messiah" for standing against what is wrong...

The battle in my opinion is between PDP and AD... (APC has lost it).

Wish I can give you more than one like for this, some people who say they are disappointed in Edo state don't even live in the state. They don't know how horrible it would have been if the godfathers in PDP were allowed to handle the reins again and that would have been inevitable if POI had won. And POI's credibility was also at a low ebb, I know there are no saints and he may have had plans for the state; the man was never known to be a fair player till he started his campaigns and he suddenly became Mr. Nice Guy but some people never forgot and even though they smiled with him, they didn't forget. He should go to court but he should know he who comes to equity must come with clean hands.

That's just it oh... our case is just complicated but thank God that we are intelligent people. I was scared that we may forget too soon and not appreciate what Apc did.

My prayer was never intended to be so dear, i just went over what I typed and discovered I left out "don't" for that I apologise and have made the necessary modification, and for telling me to shut up when I actually wanted to make you see reasons I forgive you. And let it be known that whether that story was fabricated or not, the moral is apt. These things are what happen in everyday life. Most of the books we read are usually figment of writer's imagination but does that take away from the message ? of course it doesn't.
