From my take, the VAR official felt it was a penalty but the referee believed he saw everything that happened and decided no penalty.

So when the VAR official insisted it was a penalty, the referee told him the incident happened outside the box and blew play on.

However, the VAR official insisted that then he should give a freekick to the Egyptians.

The referee stopped play and told the VAR guy to rewatch the incident and told him of a leading infringement. Not watched the replay carefully but my guesses are:

The Egyptian backed into Simon or there was a tug.

The VAR official watched it and agreed with the referee. That was why the referee laughed. Like, I told you I saw everything. Then blew finally, play on.

Tunisia vs Mali ref need to be sanctioned. Stopped match @ 85th minute and 89th minutes didn't even add extra time... Gave a harsh red card.

Moses Simon lost the ball 19 times yesterday? I would like to know who compiled those stats. Do you know what loosing the ball 19 times mean? A ten year old kid will struggle real hard to loose the ball that number of times in a game against Real Madrid.
This false representation of stats speaks volume of your real motive.
Very wrong stats.... He had at least a shot on target that Egypt goalkeeper caught.

We are playing Afcon and you are talking about play off... Won't one do well with present challenges first before facing the future one ?

You must be a mad dog. Afcon is a small tournament and it is very important to visualize the future and never carried away by 1 win…. The Afcon belongs to one of Nigeria, Algeria, Senegal but at the world stage, we aren’t one of the favorites

Rohr was a curse to this team.
Lol... Baba this match really sweet you die.

I pray we don't underestimate our next 2 opponents.

Super Eagles are usually known to start poorly then grow into the competition.

I pray this one nil victory against Egypt is as poor as it could get, meaning we are bringing the kitchen and the sink to the remaining games of the tournament.

Apart from his end product which he needs to work on, he put up a defensive masterclass today.

With Ekong's good passing range, will it be a good idea trying him as a DM given his frailties as a defender ?
I seriously don't know... He could pull it off though. My only problem with Ekong has been his lack of confidence aside that he can be good on his day, just like today

Awoniyi had a good game and he is here to stay

The earlier you know the better for you grin
I just tire oh... Awoniyi's movement off the ball was top notch.

Once he got the ball, he finds Iheanacho with a pass then make some runs and Iheanacho the agbalagba of through pass was giving him sweet passes. Awoniyi was just unlucky not to have scored.

Moses Simon was your man of the match?
Alright, your opinion, and i respect that.

Moses's performance was not a far cry from his previous performances.
Most of the forward passes was directed to him, making him look like our star man.

In my reckoning, as far as top performances are concerned, he is not even in the first five.
Even if Moses Simon crucify himself for the team, you nor go green say he do anything.

Iheanacho's goal was as a result of his cross if you don't know

Ekong dey pass die... Na only confidence e dey quick lack. I hope he maintains this confidence.

Iheanacho has proved to be our most clinical player and he has eye for that last pass to set up his fellow striker.

Moses Simon has been a menace destroying the Egyptians.

All in all they have really impressed me today

You guys need to put some respect on Musa's name... He has been our standout player at both world cup he played. He's paid his dues. He deserves some accolades.

As Nigeria's highest goal scorer at the world cup and the captain of the team, he has every reason to desire to play at Qatar 22.

If he choose to retire after then, all good.
