Yes. Is that the reason Naira is scarce and competing against Naira in value? Don't get me started on fuel or electricity.

Xscape1993:
Another waste of time and resources. Wike is not a good calculative politician.
He has always swam against the tide, but might not survive this one. His choice exposed his greed. One good outcome is the G5 have found their square root : Ugwanyi and Ortom for PO, Makinde and Wike for BAT. Ikpeazu must play hard ball now that his governorship candidate is dead, it won't make any difference for AA though. Also, expect the north to queue behind AA based on Wike's preference. The choice will be River's people to make, it might split votes but won't be called for BAT. The game changer will be when Tony Cole clinches the seat, Wike eyes will clear.

He forget the important rule: Think (not talk) like a man of action, and act (not talk) like a man of thoughts. He has talked his way to his political doom.

He is focused indeed.

Kwankwanso is unfocused, that's why he went to channels tv to speak against the demonic policy and scarcity hurting Nigerians.

Tinubu is unfocused too for first speaking against the policy and scarcity, literally telling APC (his party ooo) and Buhari to wake up.

Aisha Buhari too is unfocused.

Atiku too is unfocused. We all know mikano's selfishness no get competition; he still spoke anyhow anyhow, while sitting on the fence.

Pandora Anini was so focused on his ambition so such he didn't see or care that his obidients are suffering the fuel and cash scarcity. if they die of hunger or trek miles to reach destinations, or can't go to work; e no concern am. they're just tools to him to achieve his ambition. they don't matter.

Are you folks not confused? All you mentioned in one way or another played a part in PMB's emergence in 2015. Is it now that Nigerians started suffering under this regime that all of your idols have suddenly become advocates of the masses? Show me PO's picture or post amongst those who protested against fuel subsidy removal in 2012. He has always been talking about issues affecting the masses (check his Twitter page). I love how he has steered clear of the imbrolgio amongst enemies of our country. Nigerians know who's on their side.

When the president wanted to end the use of old #1000,#500 and #200 by January 31,he made it look as if he is trying to checkmate corrupt politicians from having naira note in their private vault, and so many sadist commended him thinking that it is the political class that will suffer, just three days down the line ,the reality is setting in and people could not buy or sell because of paucity of new notes and the politician that was taught to be the ones to bear the brunt do not join the ATM queue to withdraw the new note,in my area I have not heard of any big politician complain, its just a call from bank managers and bags of new notes are taken to their houses,so will want to ask,in your area who is bearing the brunt :the politician or the masses

The unfortunate masses, amongst whom are Urchins, Mikanos and Obidents; Ibos, Yorubas and others. Who says policies don't shape our collective future?

Politics / Re: How Emefiele New Naira Notes Scarcity Will Aid Vote Buying by AcetylC: 10:09am On Feb 02, 2023
Biodun556:
Some Nigerian banks are owned by politicians. In some, politicians are major share holders.
For this reason, politicians can not be denied cash. They are the first to be considered by banks in this situation.

Also, it is normal for banks to give priority to customers who are richer. This is why some big men don't go to bank when ever they need cash. Banks bring cash for them at home. Tinubu bullion van is a normal thing among Nigerians who are millionaires.

Since politicians have unfettered access to the scarced new naira notes, Nigerians will be willing to queue up for politicians during election just to have the new notes.
RenaissanceGuy:
Can that still happen now, especially now that CBN intentionally printed very limited notes and every bank branch manager has to account for every tranche of new notes received, especially between now and till the end of the elections?? No.

Extending the deadline was a miscalculated venture. People where already making plans to adjust, new notes would have been in circulation in a greater measure by now. Instead, new notes are presently being hoarded because of the extension, old notes are scarce (because many have been returned). No good public transportation system for an efficient cashless policy. If there's another extension, then there will be chaos of monumental proportion.

I hope you know 'real cashless societies' have good public transportation system. I am certain you know what I'm talking about (metro/bus) cards etc. Like I said, we rush to copy policies without contextualising the implementation frameworks. Like BVN, NIN, and the lots. Emefiele Has Weaponised The CBN And Is An Enemy Of Democracy - FFK

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has slammed the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, over the new monetary policy, IGBERETV reports.

The CBN in December 2022, introduced the newly redesigned N200, N500, and N1000 notes and has said they will cease to be legal tenders by February 10.

Taking to his Instagram page, FFK stated that Emefiele has ''weaponised the CBN and is an enemy of democracy.'' He called for the cancellation of the new Naira notes policy until after the elections.

He wrote;

https://www.instagram.com/p/CoE1qpHIquK/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

There's something wrong with FFK's display of brutish tendencies in the way he's always uses subjugative words like cage, animal, whip etc when referring to humans. If this is not fetishism, it most definitely looks like Anthropomorphism. He would be a despicable abuser in real life.

Well, if financial prudence is what Obi has to bring to the table, while taking account of the fact that his subordinate, Datti, doesn't have much of a record either, it's safe to say post-2023 would definitely steer Nigeria in a final direction.

Being a Yoruba man myself, I would like to see the potentials that my own people carry without being forced to live together with another tribe. If Nigeria must divide, so be it. I believe we'd be better off that way in the long run.

Either ways, may God's will for Nigeria be done. Have a nice day sir.

Oh, I would say his accountability, not prudence sets him apart. A true leader is one who believes he's holding power in trust for the people he serves, not act like demi-gods, which everyone in their government would try to emulate. That's the reason there is oil theft, vagrant abuse of power, curency racketeering today. We trust in God, but many people are staying actions till after the election. You make a solid point; we should approach our infrastructural development endeavours with caution, especially since most of them are financed through foreign loans and debts. Regardless, Nigeria has much need of infrastructure, most of which should have been built decades ago.

I just hope that if Obi becomes president he can 'put his money where his mouth is' by delivering on his electoral promises. APC complained for 4 years after assumption of office. Nigeria won't tolerate such from Obi oooo.

I always believe in antecedents sir. Check up the history of Nigeria between 1983 - 1985, you will find that all that PMB is doing now, is a textbook definition of who he has always been. The signs were there, we ignored them. If PO was accountable and prudent as a Governor, no doubt he will reflect these. To be fair to other candidates, we only need to check their record of service (style of governance, innovation and accountability) and then juxtapose with what Nigeria needs now. The choice of who to vote for will be as clear as day, for people that want this nation to change for the better. Like play, our generation is aging, we still haven't seen the country we hoped for. We blame leader but not the part we play in enthroning them. It's been a distasteful CIRCLE OF INTEREST, that's why the masses are still suffering today.

If a combination of PO and Datti can't make any mark, then we either change our constitution or divide peacefully. Hence, we need to try them (something new) for a change, so we can know once and for all, what Nigeria's problem is.

To be honest, Peter Obi seems like the better option amongst the top 3 presidential candidates. But let's not forget that awards and accolades are different from actual performance in terms of adding value to the state and its citizens.

A lot of Anambra indigenes supporting him now complained bitterly while he was governor as he didn't seem to do much in terms of infrastructural development in Anambra.

Regardless, I don't think Obi is a bad candidate at all, but let's not overhype anyone please.

Balanced sentiment we should be discussing, instead of tribalism or religion. While he's not a saint, the question remains: amongst the 3 leading candidates, who can put Nigeria back on track? Recall that profligacy, leadership ineptitude and unaccountability; are the greatest bane of the Nigerian society at the moment.

Nigeria is accelerating in the wrong direction. We know the trajectory of the 3 aspiring captains, if we get it wrong we become Zimbabwe fast. By that time, tribe or affiliations won't matter, as we will all bear the brunt like we're presently doing, in part.
