obynocute:The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, Samuel Nsowa-Djan, has called on the Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Major General Obed Akwa to call some soldiers deployed to Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region to search for killers of Captain Maxwell A. Mahama, to order. Captain Mahama was lynched by irate youth of the community on suspicion that he was an armed robber after a group of residents from whom he asked for directions during a Monday dawn jogging session spotted a pistol on him. The community on Tuesday 30 May turned into a ghost town as residents fled from soldiers sent there to investigate the circumstances leading to the murder of their colleague. Reports said the soldiers were allegedly arresting and beating up residents. Reacting to the development on 12Live on Class91.3FM, Mr Nsowa-Djan appealed to the soldiers to operate within the remit of the law. He was of the opinion that the situation could escalate if the youth of the town strike back at the soldiers. Speaking to Jonas Ofori-Yeboah, the lawmaker, who disclosed he was on his way to his constituency to ascertain the facts for himself, said: “According to sources, over 30 people have been arrested including women but I can’t confirm it. But just now, I’ve been told that a lame man has been arrested and molested and when a situation of this nature happens, it is also going to lead to another problem. “What the community did is very bad and I condemn it, but the way the military is also taking the issue I think it’s a whole lot. The community I’m told is now virtually empty. They have fled to the neighbouring communities and their farms and other places. So I’m appealing to the military, the Minister of Defence, and Chief of Defence Staff to call his people to order because if the people are to retaliate, the end result will be very bad.” |
I pray those responsible for this dastardly act are apprehended and dealt with severely. Rip MM

mansakhalifa:The pipeline got damaged for over a year forcing the VRA,the generator of electricity to buy crude which is more expensive to power their plants. Switching from gas to crude greatly affected their balance sheet and delayed payment for gas supplied earlier |
mansakhalifa:The gas is never supplied for free,it is paid for even though there are occasional delays. The price at which gas is sold to Ghana is more than what is sold to you guys |
We feed Ghanaians, cloth thier citizens, establish businesses in their country for their citizens to work and still we supply them gas? Where is that ungrateful jiggahmangh and his fellow Ghanaians who constantly run their mouth on nigerians. Ghana ought to be annexed by Nigeria as our 37th state. They depend on us for everything [/quote Nonsensical talk from a chest beater. Was the gas being flared and going waste? In any case isn't the gas being paid for? |

Hbuyosh: You guessed right. Achimota School is one the best public secondary schools in West AfricaThe establishment of Achimota School in 1927 was the first concerted effort by the British to extend education to the people of the Gold Coast. Hitherto the three secondary schools in the colony were operated by the missionaries .Achimota was conceived to have a primary department, secondary ,teacher training and university all rolled in one. The role of Achimota in the development of Ghana cannot be over emphasized. In 1948 when the people of the Gold Coast opposed the idea of the establishment of only one university for the whole of West Africa to be sited in Ibadan, it was Achimota School which hosted students and staff of the University of the Gold Coast until a permanent campus was constructed at Legon in 1951. |
Nigerians and their wahala with Ghana I can bet my last dime that it was a Nigerian that posted that pic and tagged it as egusi. Firstly Ghanaians don't make egusi stew. It is not a Ghanaian dish. Sometimes when making kontomire stew some people like to add egusi to it but it still is no where near or taste like the Nigerian version of egusi stew. Please let Ghanaians rest. Well said |
