Show me how these people helped in the formation of the ARPS in Gold Coast. What kind of assistance did they give?
How come when when the Land Bill which was to take lands from the chiefs was being introduced ,it had to take Caseley Hayford,Mensah Sarbah and co in 1887 to go to London and argue their case

They had no help from the so called branch in London in its formation.
In any case if it was really related to the one formed in Cape Coast, how come Mensah Sarbah and Co had to travel to London in 1887 to argue against the land bill that was being introduced in the Gold Coast.
The so called London branch could have stood in and spoken for the people of the Gold Coast

I list few of the malls in Accra which combined size exceed 91,000m2.Instead of you to accept that you goofed, you are still on that narrative
How can 80,000m2 be greater than 91,000m2

Liar. grin

Did Ghanians form Aborigines rights protection society? grin

So who formed ARPS? Nigerians wink Do some reading

Gold Coast Aborigines' Rights Protection Society
The Gold Coast Aborigines' Rights Protection Society (ARPS) was an African association critical of colonial rule, formed in 1897 in the former Gold Coast, as Ghana was then known. Originally established by traditional leaders and the educated elite to protest the Crown Lands Bill of 1896 and the Lands Bill of 1897, which threatened traditional land tenure, the Gold Coast ARPS became the main political organisation that led organised and sustained opposition against the colonial government in the Gold Coast, laying the foundation for political action that would ultimately lead to Ghanaian independence.[1][2] J.W. de Graft-Johnson, Jacob Wilson Sey, J. P. Brown, J. E. Casely Hayford, and John Mensah Sarbah were co-founders.[

The Gold Coast ARPS formed as a conglomerate of different groups of intellectuals in Cape Coast and Southern Ghana who sought to protect the traditional land tenure practices of the indigenous Gold Coast peoples from being usurped by the colonial government of Britain. One of the initial goals of the Gold Coast ARPS was to ensure "…that every person may understand [the Lands Bill of 1897] the same".[4] The Gold Coast ARPS became a voice for the rights of indigenous peoples by both broadcasting their aims in their own newspaper, Gold Coast Aborigines, and advocating on behalf of indigenous land rights by presenting the reasons for their dissent of the Lands Bill of 1897 in front of the Legislative Council.[4] Particularly, John Mensah Sarbah, a key member of the Gold Coast ARPS and a lawyer, helped to advocate against the introduction of the Lands Bill of 1897 by arguing that it was no different from a previous, unsuccessful bill in 1894; that its introduction would break family and society ties, and that the land was valuable to indigenous peoples for its religious significance.[4] The Gold Coast ARPS then sent a delegation to London in order to advocate for the dismissal of the Lands Bill of 1897 in front of Joseph Chamberlain, the Secretary of State of Britain at the time. A notable aspect of the delegation is that it included not only members of the Gold Coast elite, but also "prominent merchants".[4] It was through their meeting with Joseph Chamberlain that the Gold Coast ARPS was able to get support for the denunciation of the Lands Bill of 1897 and the assurance that "native law would remain and prevail with regard to devolution of land".[4] The Gold Coast ARPS eventually fell out of fashion in exchange for newer nationalist movements, such as the National Congress of British West Africa (NCBWA) in 1920.

Influences on the founding of the Gold Coast ARPS
The formation of the Gold Coast ARPS came at a period during the late 19th century in which the educated Gold Coast elite were systematically barred from high-ranking positions in the colonial government.[6] It was this exclusion, in part, that fuelled both the "cultural nationalism" and "anti-colonial political activity" that led to the creation of the Gold Coast ARPS in 1897.[6] As part of the emergence of cultural nationalism during the late 19th century, members of the educated elite throughout the Western African region began to return to their traditional roots by either reclaiming their "original African names, when these could be discovered…" or "new African names when they could not".[7] This reclamation of nomenclature influenced the naming of the "Gold Coast Aborigines' Rights Protection Society," as it was originally conceived as a branch of the Aborigines' Protection Society of London but later renamed so as to serve as its own unique entity with a direct connection to the African continent in general and the Gold Coast in particular.[7]

Stop mentioning the collapsed Tinapa where there is not even electricity to make the supermarket lively and chill frozen stuff that ought to be in freezers and fridges. wink smiley. Darkness every where in Tinapa

I will list some malls in Accra and not even Ghana as a whole as you ignorantly claim and you do the maths.

If it does not add up to the non functional Tinapa you are so obsessed with, i would add another 3 within Accra

Oxford mall is 5,580m2
Junction mall is 11,592m2
Achimota mall is 14,622m2
Marina mall is 9,000m2
A&C mall is 6000m2
Accra mall is 23,000m2 after expansion
West hills is 27,000m2 soon to be expanded to 40,000m2

Tinapa: Nigeria’s $450 million white elephant
adekunle adekunle

With its futuristic film studios, luxury shops and elevated light railway, Tinapa should be a showcase of Nigerian dynamism, a commercial hub for West Africa raking in millions of dollars.

Aerial view of the reception area of Tinapa Resort.

But 10 years after it opened, the resort in southeast Nigeria is a ghost town and has become a symbol of monumental waste.
Its majestic contours and avant-garde domes rise defiantly out of the bush and palm trees. At the entrance, a giant signboard proclaims: “Tinapa back on track!”

But the few visitors who venture inside are quickly disillusioned.

Apart from a few idle employees, not a soul stirs in the endless aisles of shops and warehouses that should have made the capital of Cross River state, Calabar, famous across Nigeria’s south.

“It’s empty there, we have no clients, it’s like a cemetery,” said one shop assistant in Da Viva, which sells the popular brand of wrapper skirts.

“Many have left already,” he added, pointing to shuttered premises.

A huge supermarket still displays clothes, furniture and foreign-made knick-knacks but in virtual darkness: the electricity was cut off some time ago.

Inside, an old man snoozes in the suffocating heat.

Tinapa, with its 80,000 square metres (861,000 square feet) of warehouses and shops, cost $450 million (413 million euros) to build.

But it has become a financial black hole for its backers.

– Economic development –

At the turn of the century, Nigeria was on the point of becoming Africa’s biggest economy and leading oil producer. Newly returned to civilian rule, everything seemed possible.

A handful of businessmen and architects got together and imagined an international centre of commerce and tourism in a free-trade zone.

Nigeria’s biggest banks fell over themselves to finance the project, which was opened in 2007.

“At that time, everyone was excited. Tinapa was going to boost economic development of the whole region and create thousands of jobs,” said Bassey Ndem, who was in charge of the project.

It aimed to attract Nigerian millionaires, who ordinarily jetted off to Dubai or London to go shopping, as well as make Cross River a commercial crossroads on the Atlantic coast.

A plush 242-room hotel with a view over the lagoon and a water park with slides were built to cater for the cream of high society and their families.

Alongside luxury tourism, imported goods would provide for Nigeria and its neighbours such as Cameroon, Chad and Niger, competing with the country’s commercial capital, Lagos.

“Everything was going well at first,” said Ndem. “At the peak, in 2009, we generated $30 million of revenue. But we faced a lot of resistance from the customs.

“They really didn’t want the tax-free zone to work.”

Goods were supposed to be exempt from import duties in the free-trade zone.

But from the beginning, the customs — which has a reputation for rampant corruption — blocked containers destined for Tinapa in the ports, paralysing business.

– Top down, trickle up –

Ndem left in 2012. None of his successors has managed to get Tinapa off the ground.

“There was clearly a lack of political will” to make the project succeed, he said, describing himself as angry and frustrated at a “wasted opportunity”.

For the economist and blogger Nonso Obikili, Tinapa’s downfall was largely because of a lack of existing infrastructure to transport goods: bad roads and an average-sized port.

“It was a wide project conceived with the deep sea port, which was supposed to enable big ships to come to Calabar,” said Obikili.

“It was the responsibility of the federal government but finally it wasn’t done,” he told AFP.

In the end, no big name jeweller or pret-a-porter line wanted to invest in the paradise promised by its promoters and the hotel remains desperately empty.

The cinema studios have likewise been unable to attract Nollywood’s stars, who have largely preferred to stay in Lagos.

In “Looking for Transwonderland: Travels in Nigeria”, the British-Nigerian author Noo Saro-Wiwa castigates the leaders in the country of her birth.

Few of Nigeria’s nearly 190 million inhabitants have benefited from the riches brought by oil; most still live in extreme poverty.

“This top-down approach to boosting Calabar’s economy seemed hollow,” she wrote.

“I’d heard Nigerian politicians’ endless talk about theme parks, tourist resorts, shopping malls and their ‘trickle down’ effects on the economy.

“But there’s no such thing as ‘trickle down’ in Nigeria — money trickles upwards or evaporates on contact with air,” Saro-Wiwa wrote in 2012.

It's clear hypocrisy. It's like the mayor of London talking about a knife crime problem in another city or country. Op you're right Nigerians don't research and just love the feeling of being criticized by outsiders a little too much. It will be on a smaller scale in Ghana because there are less Fulani herds men. Nigeria has the largest concentration of Fulani people in Africa whose lively hoods are cattle related. If the GH president is talking about Abuja, it's very close to the North so you would see herding. There does need to get strict grazing laws, paths and areas and maybe mandatory movement of animals by cattle trucks for parts of the trail. Clearly, there should not be cattle trailed in the middle of Abuja for example.

The lack of concrete reaction from Buhari is because it's his people doing it and he keeps cattle himself. He has a clear bias and does not want to go against his tribesmen.

Jonathan should provide us with the audio/video of the alleged statement. He should mention the platform where Akuffo Addo spoke
