This was the first time that the Super falcons failed to play with their heads low. They failed to understand that it is a team game and not about individuals. They were taking it from an individualistic approach which almost cost them the loss. Ghana were the better of the two sides in the second half unlike the first half which was a balanced affair. A lot of lessons to be learnt surely from this game because there lies huge challenges ahead. Not surprised that Ghana gave Nigeria a match today as they showed why they are the real rivals and not Cameroon or Southafrica. Kenya will still provide a good opposition for the African Champions as well going by what they performed in the previous game against Ghana. Their first half display was a pointer that the Cecafa championship was no fluke. Let's not forget that the match between Nigeria and Ghana was a champions affair as well. The African Champions (Nigeria) and the all-africa games soccer champions. Don't be surprised if we see a Champions final. Till then.

And may Ghana triumph over Naija and win the cup for the first time

A Ghanaian bride who shocked people by wearing sneakers to her wedding has explained why she did it


Vera Ewura Obeng said the decision to wear sneakers on the day of her wedding to Festus Attah Isoah Iso was informed by her experience as a wedding photographer.

She said she had noticed in her six years of taking pictures at weddings that brides were always uncomfortable in their heels and eventually had to replace them with something more comfortable during receptions.



Vera said she felt there was no point wearing different shoes for the wedding and reception, and so opted for the sneakers, which she said she wore for nine hours.

“What is the point in wearing heels to church and remove it during reception? I just don’t get it. If you want heels wear it throughout the event. I wore mine for 9 hours. I see brides complaining about the heels all the time,” she said.




Vera’s remarks came after some social media users mocked her for what they said was her odd choice of footwear.

Responding to those who described her wedding dress as too casual, Vera said she had opted for something simple that she could also wear to other events.

“I just don’t get the bit where I spend thousands of Mahama cedis on a dress I can’t wear again. I just can’t ‘think far’. Invite me to your baby christening and I will gladly come in it”, she said



Vera stressed that she was not opposed to brides wearing heels to their wedding.

“I don’t have anything against wearing of heels and gowns… at the end of the day it’s all about choices,” she said.

Butcher denies claims of woman selling human flesh

A butcher, Ali Bakari, has denied claims that the woman arrested at the Adabraka Market last?Wednesday was selling human flesh.

The 37-year-old butcher, who owns a shop at the Makola Market, is said to have given his statement when the police visited his shop.

As part of their investigations, the police went to the shop from where the woman claimed she had bought the meat.

On Wednesday, a woman (name withheld) was nearly lynched at the Adabraka Market in Accra after some traders had accused her of allegedly selling human flesh as meat.

The woman was found roaming the market with roast meat in an aluminium pan and some of the market women suspected it to be human flesh. They raised an alarm that led to her arrest.

The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mrs Effia Tenge, said the butcher, in his statement to the police, had claimed the woman had bought the meat, which he described as beef, from him about 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

She said the butcher claimed that although a kilo of the meat was sold at GHC10, the woman bought two kilos after pleading with him to sell it at GHC8 and that although he was reluctant, he agreed after they had bargained at length.

“We have a statement indicating that a butcher sold the meat to this woman from the Makola Market. He is Ali Bakari and he has given a written statement to that effect,” she said.

She said the woman’s husband also confirmed that his wife was only following a directive from her pastor whom she had consulted for a solution to the mysterious death of her two children.

Mrs Tenge said the meat suspected to be human flesh was currently undergoing laboratory test and added that the result of the test would be ready today.

The woman, according to Mrs Tenge, had since been released on police enquiry bail and was expected to report himself to the Adabraka Police daily.
