We have precedents of the National Assembly inviting public functionaries to appear before it to answer questions and make clarifications.

Justice Umar is certainly not above the law and therefore should honour the Senate summons if he has no skeletons in the cupboard.

Infact Justice Umar should have been barred from presiding over the CCT pending the determination of the substantive suit preferred against him.


Nigeria belongs to all us. If APC/Buhari can trump up some extraneous provisions/laws to try to teleguide the Senate, it will then be delusional to expect that the Senate will not look for a loophole to get even or stem their excesses.

Falana should go on deceiving himself with some self-serving legal interpretations. One would have expected him to be cognisant of the fact that he holds no monopoly of knowledge.

Actually I should be asking you how old u are because any intelligent person knows that once a case is in court it has become subjudice and nothing shld be done to tamper with the statusquo. By the way, ask your self, what is the end result of the senate's inquiry? Is it not to develop a case that will still have to go to court for conviction?? And for which the case is already in court. So whats the point of inviting him again? Or is the senate now a law court that can convict? Pls be rational when commenting

an illiterate is someone tht says he is fighting corruption since he came into power & told us the masses tht he hasnt selected his cabinet yet for over 6 month coz he was searching for corrupt free citizenns to appoint as ministers but still went to appoint amaechi,fashola,fayemi,etc tht looted all the states they ruled & some has even being indicted by corruption tribunals from their respective states.

Can you imagine the rubbish? The Senate is summoning the CCT Tribunal Chairman to appear immediately the CCT ruled that the trial will run daily!

The Senate is amending the CCB act with with lightening speed.
