It’s not about successes. Right from when they are kids, there is always one you emotionally attached to. One that easily gets his/her way with you.

You see, parents do it involuntarily but other siblings notice it. You might think you equally do, but people around you will observe your soft spot for one of them.
I see...

You are right about that. But denying that you “equally” love your kids is false.
How does it work? At what point do you start identifying a favourite child? At the point of success? Does your favourite choice change with time the way your favourite food, football club, profession, etc. evolve as you age? How does it work?

Finally, the networks can begin to reinvest in their infrastructure and improve on service.

Most Nigerians don't even understand that the networks have been turning off cell sites because of the price of diesel and have also been sacrificing other aspects of their operations to cut cost.

How can the prices of everything else go up and you tell them they can't increase prices? Very unfair and this has led to a lack of new investments in the telecoms sector
How frequently have you pushed on this forum for more jobs and better income for Nigerians who are forced to pay the ever-increasing costs caused by your political choices and affiliations?

If truly you care, you should be more concerned about the people sacrificing their income to pamper the poorly thought-out and negative policies of the APC administration.

Bolaji Akinyemi should shut the hell up.

See an old man like him full of fear for his fellow man.

No wonder he said Nigeria should not have joined BRICS.

Must have been out of his fear of Trump.

What will Trump do to Nigeria? Invade us because we asserted our rights as an independent nation?

USA can do NOTHING to Nigeria.

As a BRICS nation we are allied to Russia, Brazil, China, India, etc, so unless Trump wishes to start WW3, he knows not to try any shiit with Nigeria.

That is how you should be reasoning Mr Akinyemi, if you weren't paralysed by your colonial fear of anglo-saxon reaction to asserting your rights.
Is this pride not too much for a man who fled the US and forfeited drug money, and who also claims that disclosing his Chicago academic records will cause him irreparable harm? 😂

Just calm down. Even Tinubu won't dispense this pride and courage. You no go fear CIA ke? Dey play?

You can't compare the experiences (trauma) of an 18 year old orphan who has been victim of sexual and physical abuse in the hands of relatives, strangers, etc. with a 30 year old lady raised in a nuclear, happy, and loving family.

Same logic applies to why you would see many 21 year old professional p rost itu tes while some 30 year old have barely had two relationships.

You can mask your ignorance with insults and some emoji, but facts won't bow to your ignorance. So, fix up.

Let justice prevail in this case.
Are you sure you want "justice to prevail"? Because if justice gets served today, you and your fellow midnight criminals will spend years behind bar.

The screenshot is a report from EFCC's own website as released a couple of months ago.

Per this report, anybody masquerading as EFCC official raiding your home at mid night is a terrorist and should be treated as such. That settles the whole matter. The other side of the case is the legality of the firearm in his possession, but that's a different matter entirely - and it's not EFCC's business to investigate.

I am worried about his health. He complains himself that it is mentally draining. Last year we had a situation and if I weren't an emotionally strong person, it reach to have high bp. But the second he was fit, he continued from where he stopped. We would agree A, he would do B. If he slumps now, world people would say he was hustling to give his fair wife. Whereas I have talked and fought. I just pray God touches his heart this year.
Since it involves his health, I believe if he hears it from more people in his cycle, it might sink in more. What do you think? But honestly, you’re handling the matter well. Many don't see this as a problem so long as there is a steady cash flow. A lot of us have the mindset that we’re not working hard enough unless we’re physically and mentally drained.

the truth is we all have a limit we are not going to go below

because we know what comes with it

there is a reason one left some things behind because of the stress that comes with them

poverty is also a problem that can put you in a never ending cycle

yesterday i changed the tires of madams car. the week before the battery

some silly child will say manage it

thats when the car will break down at in oshodi and you find yourself facing a a whole new set of problems from area boy to local govt task force to lastma.

don't package yourself properly when meeting client and they will lowball you. same way you will size up an artisan and decide how much to pay him, na so client go also size you up.

and the cheapness of some accommodation also comes with the lack of security
I agree with this perspective. Well said, bro. The cost of poverty is too high, and what is life without hope? Many people try to rebuild, believing that things will eventually get better, and that’s what keeps them going.

Living within one’s means is important, no doubt, but then the depression from living off loans can sometimes be less than the deep despair that comes with extreme poverty. At the end of the day, we all have a personal threshold we won’t cross because we know the stress and problems that come with going below that line.

Honestly things are so hard these days. I calculated our most recent expenses and it is much. Many families have indeed lowered their spending. The only option now is another source of income or return to the village.

But what of us with men that we have begged to reduce work? Any advice for us? 😃
Absolutely right. Staying afloat requires more than just cutting expenses these days. I’m starting to think about some radical changes myself, like living alone for a while to cut down on certain costs and create room to focus on more work.

Ah, I get you! The challenge is that hardworking men usually don’t see more work as an issue. it’s just how they’re wired. Honestly, as long as the work isn’t having any detrimental effects on health or bonding time with the family, omo, I’d actually recommend work and more work. For some people with that kind of mindset, the goal may be early retirement, so at the end of the day, it’s a win-win. But if you’re worried about balance, maybe small adjustments here and there can help, like prioritising rest days. That way, they can still push hard without burning out.

He put himself under unnecessary pressure by taking up loans.

See one thing have learnt is one needs to reduce standards when the going get tougher.

Not been able to meet up made him worried and his BP got bad.

Imagine taking up loans and he was spending it on fueling cars and generator etc just to maintain certain lifestyles . That was a bad move.
I have to agree with you now that you've given a more detailed context. Some day-to-day expenses are avoidable.

Abeg o. grin grin

His post clearly said the man took loans to meet a standard. Doesn't seem like his wife persuaded him. However, I do agree that men should take care of their health and themselves. I am an advocate of 2kids. I don't think a middle class home even in the 90s could afford 4 kids and it is worse now that middle class has been stylishly eradicated. Most importantly, a wife that supports or at least knows to manage the available resources.
Ahah...

Yeah, I read the loan part. I guess he was used to a style of living and wasn't ready to return to trenches, which is why he went for the loan. I wouldn't blame him too much, sha, knowing that many families have already lowered their spending, and returning to the village is simply not an option. It's an unfortunate situation.

He was a well to do man . He had those kids when things were good.

We could ever imagine things will go this bad 10yrs ago.

You came blame anyone who got married 2010 who has 3-4kids. Things was good then
From 2010 to 2025, one's financial status can deteriorate significantly. Just one of Tinubu's poorly thought-out policy, like the subsidy removal announcement has harmed many families' ability to live a decent life.

The man did nothing wrong by hustling till he died. His family is not responsible for his death. He died for what he believed in: providing the best for his children. There was nothing else he could have done in that situation other than become a deadbeat dad or join a criminal group like the APC. Neither of the two options is appropriate for a sane, responsible man.
FamilyRe: Married Men Take Care Of Yourselves, Don't Die Young Trying To Please Anyone. by Acidosis(m): 11:45am On Jan 18, 2025
The thread reads as if you are blaming his wife and four children for his death... It doesn't make sense to advise a married man with four children to prioritise his own interests above all others, including the kids no one begged him to raise.

It is better to warn men against having children or even marrying.

At the end of the day, most of us will die for our personal interests. He wanted a certain lifestyle and standard of living and he went for it. It has nothing to do with his children. Many kids born in slums turn out fine. Na you want standard, and it's totally fine to die for what you believe in.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Good Morning Guys, pls I Need Your Suggestions And Opinion Concerning This Things by Acidosis(m): 9:18am On Jan 18, 2025
Your salary, job prospects, and budget should guide your choice of residence. None of the places you’ve mentioned is closer to Toyin Street in Ikeja than Agege and Ogba. From Agege and Ogba, you can easily get to your workplace in 15-20 minutes (max), but that’s not the case with Iyana Ipaja or Oshodi. Going to Toyin Street from Oshodi or Iyana Ipaja involves long, high-speed expressway journeys that will eventually wear you out.

If the job is worth it, consider relocating to Ogba or Agege. You will pay more on accommodation no doubt, but the convenience and reduced stress will make it worthwhile. Just one or two keke or minibuses will get you to your workplace. You can avoid those expressway-bound journeys.

CrimeRe: Yahoo Boys Kill EFCC Official, Injures Another In Anambra by Acidosis(m):
This is fake news. How did you verify the "culprit's" profession when you haven't even gained access to his personal space? If you were so sure that the suspect is into yahoo, why do you have to invade his home at 4am when you can easily walk in at day time? Why do we have the caption "yahoo boys", when it's been confirmed that only one man (a family man) shot the officers?

The so called yahoo boy should hire a lawyer and sue the other officers who raided his home at 4 a.m. According to the most recent report from other sources, the man has a licensed gun (pump action). The incident occurred on the outskirts of town, an area known for its high level of insecurity.

If this news is to be believed, the EFCC has no case. In fact, if they went on an illegal operation, as is most likely the case here, the remaining officers may spend some time in prison.
