jenny i can understand ur annoyance but please this woman is pregnant, if not for anything cool down for that - ur quite harsh.

its not easy asking for help especially from our people so for this woman to come on here must have taken a lot - don't make someone feel bad cos of it please. I'm now begging on this woman's behalf.

ok - i think i get both sides of the coin now, we all want the best for our kids and we should strive to achieve that (i'm not going to lie, there are some things I am extravegant about)- but the way some people are putting their point across to a pregnant woman is harsh - i'm sorry if anyone is offended by this but it is. there are so many forums out there for mums to be and new mums that have sections specifically for the purpose the poster has raised, nobody talks down to these women, in fact in one of my baby groups one of the mums who has the same pushchair as victoria beckham gladly took the free pampers another mum gave her - when another mum dashed unused formula milk see how people rushed it - and these women are not poor.

honestly what the poster is asking for is not bad - the mistake she made was asking for it on a NIGERIAN forum - after all every1 in nigeria is rich so why would someone who is using the internet feel the need to ask for a second hand cot.

she should have a baby in the uk cos she is a british citizen - and i'm thinking that she may not have access to reddington levels in naija - also it will just make it easier for future generations in her family (her grandchildren needing to be born in the UK to get citizenship)

in my own case, i actually bought cot but my lil girl never used it. we had to pack it up. I was a lil disappointed thinking of the stress i went thru getting the cot cos i was abt 7mth preg wen i went shopping for it and started bleeding the next morning but God took control.

concerning used cloth even grown-up where them. dont be bothered. i got some for my daughter then. i washed well, rinsed with dettol disinfectant, ironed and it was good to go.

@johndoe - i'm very happy for you, i personally prefer to save the money for my daughter cos no body knows tomorrow - trust me up until my father was alive I thought I was a princess - chei my eyes opened after his death, I paid my university fees with my own sweat after he died. My daughter will have a fund built up for her so that she will never have to stress about school fees or if she wants a car or a deposit for a house in her 20s the money is there.

not every1 has the same pocket - obviously there are certain things one does not buy 2nd hand (like a car seat) but with clothes I honestly don't see a problem. Most of us that have kids pass things around anyway.

thank you siena - i had to email this story last night to all my friends with kids so that the next time someone tells me or them that I should stop treating my child like an oyinbo child after all "she is african" i will highlight this story to them.

imagine force feeding a baby - see me see trouble o! I don't know the last time my 9 month old had a proper lunch and when she rejects the food I just pour the food away and let her play - if she is hungry she will ask for food,

I 200% understand everything you have mentioned here and only wish you were here in the UK with me - gosh I would give you so much stuff you would beg me to stop (in fact I just dropped off a box of pampers this morning at my baby group) You see I bought a lot of second hand stuff for my daughter and managed to save about £600 from my original budget, you know what that money went straight into a savings account for her. People have given me so much stuff and some things only last a few months so why would I spend £80 on a moses basket when she only used it for 12 weeks, my dear I bought it for £10.50 from ebay (the lady who sold it was very clean and she dashed me a bath and some clothes when I went to her house to collect it) likewise someone came and collected the playmat and pushchair i sold on ebay.

I'm not sure about second hand clothes in Nigeria but here in the UK things are just to damn expensive for me to start dashing out money like that. Honestly all a child needs up to a certain age is love and attention plus food . Don't worry very soon they will start asking for their own laptop, phone and nintendo wii (while they are still wearing pampers o!!!!!)

I would advise you to go and see your doctor (an understanding one o!)

try and go out a bit more and interact with other mums or people.

If you can try and make some time for yourself to rest or just read a book, talk to other mums - also don't feel too bad and guilty about how you feel, PND is very common its just that people don't discuss it.

however, I know that there are very good hospitals in Nigeria but is it right that those hospitals you mentioned are only affordable to the rich/very rich, it is not. there are children who die from simple malaria cos their parents cannot afford the medication, some doctors giving out incorrect health advice (i have had personal experience of this) - if the average man or woman in nigeria cannot access good healthcare there is no need to talk of good hospitals in VI - what of those in other parts of the country, bit like some one in peckham saying to people back home that cos there are million pound mansions in mayfair, bishops avenue and knightsbridge we all live like that in the UK,

I am so torn with this story - but because I know toooooooooooooo many people who think its funny to abuse the system - I'm beginning to think Bimbo has been lying all along. If her husband is as rich as the paper claim then I find it a bit weird as to why they came to the UK and not America _ what do u have to gain from UK birth? at least in America u get automatic citizenship. This week an old woman in the UK was told by her council that she could not have a carer come round at night to help her (she had a stroke years ago) apparently the cost would be £22k a year - I thought of Bimbo and was like her bill would cover approximately 10 years of care for this old woman.

I don't know I don't know - she has broken all of her immigration rules but at the same time, she has just given birth to 5 babies - I know how hard it is with 1 so how anyone expects her to start taking 5 to nigeria is living in a dream world. As for her husband leaving her - abeg leave that one we all know that one is story - if his name is on the birth certificate then trust me they are very together, how does a man register as the father if "he ran away when he discovered he had 5 babies"

but i have to say the daily mail are really after this woman.

@ ada24 - yes it can take up to two weeks just to get an appointment with a GP.

Some of us do have to pay for our own eye tests, the only good thing is that you might find a good deal with one of the opticians. Last time I checked most of the major ones seem to be doing some kind of deal so you can get money off. Might not be a lot, but every little helps.

well I have never paid for an eye test in my life - like i said if you work with a computer as part of ur job u have to be provided with a eye test on a yearly basis thru ur employer.

first off u need to look for a new GP - 2 weeks that just ridiculous, as for the eye exam - um there are a lot of special offers that can give u a free eye exam or reduced rate - also if u work with a computer as part of your job it is u can actaully get free eye tests thru ur company (in the form of coroprate vouchers) u should also get money off ur glasses.

As a mother I am not sure how i feel about this case, I thank God I gave birth to my daughter here in the UK (and b4 people want to bring up old posts I have paid into the system) I know if I had given birth in Nigeria I might not be here (not saying women don't give birth safely there as millions clearly do) if this women felt that she had a better chance of good quality healthcare I am very sure all of you would do the same.

The issue I have with this story is that its from the Sun and that paper is really not a quality paper. Another one is this "missing" husband - those of us in the UK know that as a single mother with kids - u get a lot more sympathy from the welfare state. Not nice but the fact. I personally believe she has been advised to say her husband left her.

anyway what is done is done, what we should be talking about is how disgraceful an OPEC country cannot provide first class healthcare for its citizens - this is what people should be worried about and not how many mansions u can build if u leave abroad and settle in nigeria.

if you have your babies in Nigeria they will be British thru you, however, ur grandchildren will have to be born in the UK to be British if your own children are born in nigeria

And this my uncle goes to jand almost every year and he will tell us she is ok.
