I gave a friend of mine my Ecobank account number and the a sort code to send me money four days ago, he is base in UK he say I should check my account today ,right now I check my account with my ATM in different bank I cannot find any money inside , I need help please how to get the money , this my first time

send a mail to to engcontactcentre@ecobank.com and request for their correspondent bank details, that is what you will send to your friend in UK with your account number

Dial *326# to register for their mobile banking, but its better to download their mobile app on Andriod play store and IOS stores for Iphone, just search for Ecobank Mobile banking. and follow the promt for self registration.

An app that suggests names of unknown callers from It's online database of contacts, true caller, this is also one of the apps that could be found on many Nigerians phones in 2016.

9. Score!
Score! And Score! HERO where games that you'll have draw a path with your finger from a player to the goal post to score. These we hit games in Nigeria especially in early 2016. Tho people rarely play it now but the game can still be found in many Nigerians phone.

10. Twitter

Residents of workers village in Nassarawa State were thrown into mourning following the tragic death of a man and four members of his family on New Year Day. According to reports, the party which includes father, his son and other family members were on their way to the wedding fatiha of his eldest daughter when they had a head on collision with a tanker along Lafia - Agyaragu road.

A staff of Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, who confirmed the incident said two persons sustained various degrees of injuries and were admitted at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Friday, arrested four drug couriers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, while attempting to take the drugs to China, Indonesia and Qatar. Drug trafficking is punishable by death in the three countries. A statement by the spokesman of the anti-narcotics agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, gave the names of the suspects as Aniebue Peter Nnamma, 50; Sokpe Zubbye, alias Nzube Chukwudi), 37; Ugwuezumba Hyacinth Arinze, 38; and Obinna James Obi, 30.

A statement by the spokesman of the anti-narcotics agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, gave the names of the suspects as Aniebue Peter Nnamma, 50; Sokpe Zubbye, alias Nzube Chukwudi), 37; Ugwuezumba Hyacinth Arinze, 38; and Obinna James Obi, 30.

Mr. Ofoyeju said Nnamma, who sells clothes at Aswani Market in Lagos, inserted 11 wraps of cocaine weighing 460 grammes into his anus, while Zubbye, a freight forwarder from Anambra State with a Ghanaian passport, ingested 955 grammes of cocaine.

Both suspects, Mr. Ofoyeju added, were on their way to China.

The NDLEA spokesman also said Arinze, who sells musical instruments at Alaba International Market in Lagos, was caught with ingested wraps of methamphetamine, weighing 570 grammes and 1.560kg of the drug packed in his luggage while on his way to Indonesia.

The other suspect, an aluminium fabricator in Umuahia, Abia State, who was flying to Doha, Qatar, was caught with 5.2kg of cannabis. Mr. Ofoyeju stated that all four suspects are under investigation and will be charged to court soon.

He explained that if the suspects had been arrested in the countries they attempted to courier the drugs to, they would have been executed.

Commenting on the arrests, the NDLEA Commander at the MMIA, Mr. Ahmadu Garba, said that the agency will continue to ensure that drug couriers are arrested at the country's airports and other points through which they might want to carry out their illicit trade.

Also, the Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Colonel Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd.), expressed worry over the spate of execution of Nigerians abroad for drug trafficking offences and the number of those on death row.
Colonel Abdallah urged traffickers to see beyond the transient monetary gains of narcotic trafficking and appreciate the fact that they are actually endorsing their own death warrant.

He described the action of the suspects as unfortunate and shameful, saying that drug trafficking is a criminal offence that has caused the death of many young people.

“It is sad that the execution of those caught with drugs in these countries has not deterred them. Many have died prematurely while others are daily counting down to their execution. This development has left their family members and friends in pains,” he said.
In his confessional statement, Zubbye said he was promised N1 million by sponsors to smuggle the drug abroad.

"I work in China as a freight forwarder and I am married with two children. Due to the recession, I am having difficulty in settling my bills and I was lured into drug trafficking while seeking assistance. They promised me N1 million. Since I live in China, I felt it would be easy for me to go through security checks, but unfortunately, I was caught,” he said.
Nnamma also blamed his involvement in the crime on financial hardship.

"It was financial hardship that made me smuggle the drug. I was afraid of swallowing the drug, so I inserted eleven wraps of cocaine weighing 460 grammes into my anus. I sell clothes at Aswani Market, but poor patronage and family problems have turned me into a pauper. I regret everything" he lamented.

Arinze, confessed that he was given the drug along Badagry Expressway and was promised $3,000 by his sponsors.

Obi also admitted to investigators that he made a mistake getting involved in drug trafficking. He explained that the bag he was caught with was given to him by a friend for delivery in Doha, but during a search, NDLEA discovered cannabis inside it.

Ecobank customer cares are most useless set of Staff in Nigeria banking sector ( I stand to be corrected).

I lost my phone contacts last month and I couldn't find my account number on my phone again and I couldn't remember 2 of the middle digits of my Ecobank account .

I wanted to transfer some change into the account on Wednesday and there is no other thing to do than to contact Eco bank customers care for help. I sent them mail and requested for my account number but no call or reply for almost 1hr then I called friend who is a Banker in one of their branches, I was surprised when the guy told me he couldn't find my details in Ecobank!!


6:37pm I received their call , and the caller demanded for my details which I gave him everything offhand, he asked if I do received alert I told him yes,even I receive mail for every transaction then he asked me to send the screenshot to the customer care mail which I did immediately . since then I have not received any other mail from them or even call to update me on the issue.

the following day which is Thursday I went to one of their branches around Ladipo , the customer care agent said the same and she said there nothing she can do to it that even if I go to the branch where I opened the account 5yrs ago.

she made enquiry and she discover that only 2 customers in that bank branch bear one of my names and they are Female , I showed her my emails from Ecobank and all my bank alerts.

Thank God I lost the Account number , if not I wouldn't have known that am not an Ecobank customer.

I sent Watsap message to their Watsap number no response

Just STFU if you know nothing about banking. A DIEBOLD ATM can take up to 10M if the cassettes are configured to dispense 1,000 note. Again, do you think it is easy for Head of Operations or managers to just inflate what was stolen? Every kobo in the vault is accounted for and treasury department knows the exact amount every branch closed with everyday.

That is how they will just sit somewhere and be talking rubbish. The money the BM will inflate will come from where. are there not records of funds in that came in ad left the bank.

22000 Naira gave me 180 cedis on Friday. The more the Naira sink against dollar, it affects other currencies too. Plus the corruption in our financial sector, we are the one suffering.

So you guys dont know that the higher dollar rise, the higher the rate for other currencies. all other conversion is based on the dollar rate.

All you have to do is to call them and get your problem resolved instantly.

i always say this o. Ecobank has one of the best customer service in Nigeria. They have a lot of channels where customers can air their complaint and grievances. you can engage them on Whatsapp , email or call their 24/7 customer care line.
