deomelo: [s] Utter [s]nonsense, nothing comes easy in life and if direct primaries and end of automatic tickets and impositions regardless of performance means losing elections, so be it.
Automatic tickets and remaining in office without facing any kind of contest or primaries = Imposition and Godfatherism.
Direct primaries means democracy and you can not in one breath want and preach democracy while at the same time in another breath demanding automatic tickets and imposition. It's hypocritical.
Direct primaries is the Democratic and the best way forward, win or lose[/s] [/s] If direct primaries were employed in 2007 would BRF have won AC ticket in 2007?? If direct primaries were employed for ministerial positions you think BRF would be a minister? Now the APC Lagos leadership has made it obvious that because Ambode has blocked stealing and corruption and therefore want him out because their is no free money. The people of Lagos are smart and would not watch as a corrupt few dictate to them. |

Jerie: Ambode would not contest in the primaries. He would be told to stand down and save himself the embarrassment of defeat. No single APC member in Lagos has spoken in his favour since his ordeals started. They won't vote him.
If he decides to contest, he would be defeated. If be decamps, he would be impeached within 48 Hours. How will they speak when Tinubu controls Lagos APC. No one would speak obviously. Impeachment is not so easy like that. No impeachment had ever been legal in this country. An impeachment process against Ambode would fail immediately it commences. |

TrueNigerian300: Thanks so much for pointing that out.
I have been complaining immediately after his one and half year. I stopped complaining about it since people around me couldn't see his Failure. Anybody should just mention one major project he has embarked on or finished. Please dont tell me those useless bus stops. Most major roads he completed were initiated by the great Fash example the ikorodu road was almost finished by Fashola. The one in my area almost finished by Fashola and so many others. Now compare the standard of those roads with his. What do you get? Mediocrity!!!
I don't think this guy can perform as a commissioner talk more of Governor.
Open your eyes people this dude is a Failure. A complete one at that. People are just being emotional about his ordeal with his party.Well the truth is I dont think those fool s are fighting him based on performance rather than selfish interest.
But we must admit he failed woefully and should not be returned. I dont care whether he betrayed any party member or any of those fools making noise. My concern is that he failed and should not be returned.
Wise up Lagosians this dude is a complete failure. Capitol Road Agege Eze Njoku/General hospital way Gbagada And a host of others |

Jerie: Tinubu established LASTMA, Fashola funded. Same with RRS. Would we now say that they're Fashola's achievements? Because Ambode funded LASEMA'S operations, it's now an achievement. Give him a medal na.
Cleaner Lagos initiative in conjunction with the mediocre Visionscape that is the only brainchild of Ambode is a massive flop.
As for the bolded, lawyer or not, it's immaterial to this discussion. You said something about the 2007 law so I expected your POV on the law you can't make an assertion and abscond from same. Jonathan introduced TSA Buhari implemented it, who is receiving the praise?? Jonathan initiated the kaduna rail and Abuja metro rail but Buhari completed the plane projects. Who is being praised despite doing little or nothing. Btw Ambode expanded the scope of RRS and increased its funding. Ambode has performed and would win the primaries when conducted. |

Jerie: If Ambode didn't fund it, who would have funded it, my landlord?
Fashola started LASEMA and all. Ambode brought in Avant-garde Management Services as contractors. Ask how much he pays Avant-garde and he'll never tell you. Mind you, some Avant-garde board members are also on Visionscape's board.
By the way, have you read the law establishing LASEMA? Let me ask you that one first so that I'll know how to address your issues. The bolded has affirmed my statement, I need not elucidate on that point Bros just so you know I am a lawyer.... Do you know Jide Sanwolu is on the board of Carverton main owners/promoters of Visionscape ? |

Jerie: Here it is from LASEMA'S website.
The Agency is responsible for the overall co-ordination of emergency management in Lagos State, working closely with all its Stakeholders. It came into existence in February 2007, the legal framework establishing LASEMA was signed into Law on July 22nd, 2008 by His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) https://lasema.lagosstate.gov.ng
Ignorance is not an excuse and you should not dabble into matters that are above your understanding. Everything Ambode is doing was initiated by his predecessor. Ambode purchased the equipment and added fire fighting to LASEMA's activities. It is one thing to set up, it is another thing to fund it and Ambode funded it Osinbajo commissioned this facilities.... https://www.bellanaija.com/2016/05/vp-osinbajo-commissions-lasema-response-unit-and-security-vehicles-and-motorcycles-in-lagos/ |

A rally to herald the campaign of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has been called off.
A chieftain of the party told Daily Independent that they received an order ‘from our Leader’ that the rally scheduled to hold at the Blue Roof in the premises of Lagos Television (LTV) should be cancelled.
He said the decision may be the fallout of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on the political crisis in Lagos State. https://independent.ng/breaking-coast-clears-for-ambode-as-lagos-apc-cancels-rally-for-sanwo-olu/

Wisdomkosi: 'Stampede' at PDP Secretariat as Anyaso Submits Nomination Form With Big Cow (Photos, Video)
By Wisdom Nwedene
A Nigerian Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and the founder of NN19, Dr. Chima Anyaso caused quite commotion yesterday in Abia state as all the woman and youths of Bende followed him to the party office to submit his nomination form. Anyaso unlike other aspirants that have purchased and submitted their nomination forms gave a big cow to the party leadership.
Addressing his supporters who were singing a song of solidarity and jubilating in front of the party office after submitting his nomination form, Anyaso said he is not aspiring to go to the National Assembly because of selfish interest or gain but because he wants to answer God's call to serve his people and revealed that those whom he will describe as 'grandfathers in the race' will be retired come 2019.
In his words ;
"I am not in this race for my own selfish interest or gain, but instead I am in it as an answer to God’s call and the yearning of my people for a good leader. Some people have boasted that their assurance is from Abuja but my own assurance is from heaven and that heaven has never failed me and will not now."
"And to our grandfathers in the race, they should remember that they told us over 30 years ago that we are the leaders of tomorrow and they trained us well to take over from them when they are too old to continue the good works they have done as former ‘this and that".
"So we have come, not to retire them, but to take care of them as our fathers that they are. So, they should relax and pray for us because that is their responsibility now, not to be in the same contest with us."
"I want to assure our party that as the youngest aspirant in the party, that Nigerian youths will be happy with the PDP because of me and other young people and that is why I will use my office as the convener of the New Nigeria 2019 Movement (NN19) and the vice Chairman South of the Nigerian young professional’s forum to ensure that PDP wins all the states in Nigeria including at the National level, come 2019."
Speaking to newsmen after addressing the large crowd, Anyaso thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Senator T. A Orji for the good works they are doing in the state and revealed that Abians will reciprocate the kind gesture by voting for them.
"I want to thank our able Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for providing a level playing ground and for carrying the youths along. I want to assure him that Abians will return him to office in 2019."
"I want to appreciate the immediate past governor of the state and a current senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator T.A. Orji, who I always describe as an honorable man who keeps to his words and promises. I want to assure him that we will vote for him because he promised me that he will retire after his second term which signifies good leadership and not greed like others who want to go 100 terms and not give opportunity to others to grow".
"Let me equally thank the leaders of the State National Assembly , especially Engr. Chinedu Orji (Ikuku Abia) for his exemplary leadership and for making sure that Abia youths are part of this present government."
"I want to assure Ndi Bende of my commitment to serve them at the National Assembly come 2019. I will always be accessible and not like other people that go and come back after four years to buy their votes and disappear again. My words of encouragement to them is that they should not to be afraid of rigging or intimidation as God who has called me has also provided me with all the resources and contacts needed to finish victoriously. The Bible says, “When the righteous is on the throne the people will rejoice”, so my people will definitely rejoice when I win come 2019."
Finally, Anyaso promised to take care of the party office and give it a new look as part of his commitment to the party .

Reasons being that your money will be invested into other things. The savings thing that was talked about was just a trick. The main thing these people will do is to get funds from different deposits and do business with your money. What if their investments go bad?? I would prefer a situation where your money is just there and nobody is touching it to use for what so ever investment. It is insured |

MrMcJay: Dangote only thrives in monopolies where he controls production, distribution and exchange.
In 2004, there were rumours of poisoned Indomie Noodles. Not too long after, Dangote introduced his horrible-tasting Noodles into the market.
A few years ago, the guys at Standards Organization of Nigeria were shamelessly marketing Dangote's 3X cement. This is irrespective of the fact that it's not proven to set faster or be stronger than others.
Dangote's monopoly is not even felt now, wait till he's the owner of the only functional refinery in Nigeria. That's when Nigerians would smell pepper. If you doubt me, how much was sugar and cement before Dangote's monopoly, how much are they now?
The reason Dangote succeeds is because there is no Anti-Trust and Competition Law in Nigeria. The day we have Competition Law in Nigeria, Dangote is finished. How would someone buy up cement companies and shut them down because you don't want them to rival your inflated priced cement?
Unfortunately, the leading expert on Competition Law in Nigeria with a PhD in Competition Law from the UK was made a Federal High Court Judge in 2016. Today, he's in Abuja trying money laundering and anti-corruption cases. Nnamdi Dimgba we still have Tunde Irukera |

Education › Expelled Olusegun Kayode Bello Sues Nigerian Law School, Police by adaweezy(op): 5:01pm On Aug 08, 2017 |
Expelled law school student, Kayode Bello has initiated a suit against the Council of Legal Education controllers of the Nigerian Law School.
The suit which was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division with the SUIT NO: FHC/ABJ/CS/717/2017, also has the Inspector General of Police as the second Respondent.
According to a 9 paragraph affidavit deposed to by Kayode’s lawyer, Ayodele Ademiluyi, made available to yours truly, Kayode Bello sued Council of Legal Education for forcefully ejecting him from his room 017, Block F, of the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja in March, 2017 and was subsequently expelled from the school for a simple misunderstanding over sitting reservation with a colleague.
On the motion it was also stated that he was issued a query by the council for complaining, though he answered the said query, but was abruptly forced out of his room and expelled as a student without any hearing whatsoever from him.
The plaintiff is seeking an order of the Court to grant him leave to hear and/or entertain the present suit during the vacation of Federal High Court.
He is also asking the court to intervene promptly, since the Bar final exam starts on the 15th of August, 2017, so that he won’t miss the exam, thereby jeopardizing his career and future as a legal practitioner.
He also pleaded that none of the parties will be prejudiced by the grant of this application. The matter is yet to be assigned to a Judge. Sources https://www.lawyard.ng/kayode-bello-sues-nigerian-law-school-police/

The Lagos High Court on Monday, 15th day of May 2017 delivered a judgement declaring the marriage certificates issued by all local governments in Nigeria illegal and unconstitutional while restraining them from further issuance of “Local Government Unified Marriage Certificate” to Nigerians.
In a class action filed by Consumer Rights Lawyer, Olumide Babalola against Ikeja Local Government and ALGON (Association of Local Governments of Nigeria), in Suit No. LD/1343GCM/16, the Hon. Justice Ibironke Harrison of the Igbosere division, ordered as follows:
1.Declaration that the 1st Defendant (Ikeja Local Government) does not have powers to issue modified and/or customized marriage certificates different from that provided in Form E under section 24 of the Marriage Act, LFN 1990.
2.Declaration that the 2nd Defendant’s (ALGON) “Local government Unified Marriage Certificate” is unknown to our law, unconstitutional, null and void.
3. Perpetual injunction restraining the Defendants, their agents, officers, employees and representatives from further issuing modified and/or altar marriage certificate apart from the form as provided under Form E (1st schedule) and section 24 of the Marriage Act, LFN 1990.
4. Perpetual injunction restraining the 2nd Defendant, their agents, officers, employees and representatives from further issuing “Local Government Unified Marriage Certificates.
5. An Order that all modified marriage certificates issued by 1st and 2nd Defendants be surrendered to the appropriate local government where the marriage was conducted and an appropriate certificate in line with Form E should be re-issued to the Claimant herein and all concerned persons.
By this judgement, intending couples are to ensure that the type of certificates issued to them by local government marriage registries conform with the one issued by the Federal Marriage Registry in Form E while already married couples are to return their irregular and illegal marriage certificates to the local governments in exchange for the proper ones. http://www.lawyard.ng/lagos-court-voids-marriage-certificates-issued-by-ikeja-lga-others/ cc @lalasticlala |
