Politics / Re: Jonathan Goodluck's REPORT Card - Your Assessment by addey(m): 11:17am On Feb 14, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Very impressive! But I think some of the information in the Report card are incorrect. For instance:
-The eastern rail line have not been completed. It will be completed later this year
- The Abuja-Kaduna standard guage line is almost 50% completed, not 35%

Also I think it is confusing to lump together the Enugu-Onitsha road and Enugu-PH road. The Enugu-Onitsha road is being reconstructed while what is being done on the Enugu-PH road is palliative works.

Politics / Re: Things That GEJ Has Done In Your City/state In 2 Years by addey(m): 10:05am On Jan 25, 2013
taharqa: In the last two years or so, these are some of the changes that have happened in Benin City/Edo State under GEJ:

- Significant improvements in public power supply in Benin City for almost a year of an average of 18 hrs a day (except for few times when there are national systems problems), much more than I have ever enjoyed in Nigeria except perhaps when I was a kid (and I am in my 20's).

- The fixing of the ever notorious Benin-Ore Road, which has been almost complete finally after more than a decade of terrible experiences on that road such that it became routine to sleep on the road while travelling cos of the terrible traffic on bad spots Or having to pass through 'unknown' routes in different states before getting to Lagos. Presently one can get to Lagos in 3-4 hrs.

- The Remodelling/Reconstruction of the Benin Airport, an Airport that was an eye sore, a DISGRACE cos it had not undergone any major renovation since it was built over 25 years ago even though successive Govts had been appropriating money for it. Today, the airport has been completely re-made and expanded in 1 year.

- The coming back into operation of the moribund Oredo Oil/Gas field after many years, and the building of a new Gas plant which would not only supply Gas to the newly built Ihovbor Power plant, plus other plants and LPG.

- The completion of a new 450MW Ihovbor/Benin Power plant that is in the pre-commissioning state presenting. The 1st in the state.

- The Resuscitation of the critical Benin Depot after 5 years of inactivity. A very important development Edo State such that Gov Oshiomohle was ecstatic and was very liberal in his praise for the development.

- The recovery of the washout in along the Auchi-Okene Road in Edo state.

- The supply of Fertilizers and seeds to more farmers than at any time in a very long time through the GES programme of the FG in collaboration with the State Govt.

- And in one of the most obvious, better Election Systems that have enabled us to elect pour leaders ourselves. Comparing the 2007 Elections when Anenih and his Gang prevented us the opportunity to elect our choice in a display of Brazen Rigging supported by The FG, and 2012 when the choice of the people was reflected in the best State elections probably in the history of the state. The difference is that 2007 was pre-GEj and 2012 was GEJ's. Etc, etc , etc.

These are some of the few I can recall at this time; there are obviously others including ongoing ones. There are however still some promises that have not been met.

I personally have never been able to point to these many No of projects done (or been done) in Benin/Edo State by any previous Federal Govt within this short 2 yr period. And the GREAT thing is that there is still about 2.5 yrs left....

Politics / Re: Major Economic Achievements Of Goodluck Jonathan Administration by addey(m): 7:50pm On Jan 24, 2013
ifihearam: MAJOR ECONOMIC ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE JONATHAN ADMINISTRATION

The Economy

Improvement in Economic Indices - In October 2011 International Ratings agency, Fitch Ratings revised the country’s Outlook upwards from Negative to Stable.

Standard and Poor’s another internationally respected and independent ratings agency, revised Nigeria's ratings from stable to Positive.

Signing into law the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Bill 2010 (Local Content Bill) which has increased Local Content in the Oil and Gas sector.

Ø As a direct result of that law Royal Dutch Shell awarded a N7.8 billion ($49.9 million) contract to a Nigerian firm, S.C.C Limited, for the manufacture of high pressure line pipes that would otherwise have been awarded to a foreign firm.

Ø As a result of this law, Exxon Mobil awarded an off shore platform contract to a local firm, NigerDockNig. PLC that would otherwise have been awarded to a foreign firm.

Initiating the Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF). A seed capital of $1 billion was provided to kick start the fund as well as establish three sub funds- the Nigeria Infrastructure Fund; the Future Generations Fund and the Stabilization Fund which will be the pillars of the SWF.

Launched the Youth Enterprise with innovation in Nigeria (YOUWIN) initiative on the 11th October 2011 which is the administration's job creation centre piece.

Ø On Thursday April 12, 2012, 1,200 Nigerian youths emerged winners of the competition following a transparent process. Each winner receives a business start up grant of between 1 to 10 million Naira.

Foreign exchange reserves rose to $37.02bn by May 14, 2012, the highest level in 21 months.

On March 29th, 2011, The UK Government in London described Nigeria as the fourth fastest growing economy in the world.

On February 13 2012, President Goodluck Jonathan launched the Public Works Women and Youth Empowerment Programme, an intervention programme designed to employ 370,000 youths in the year 2012 with 30% of those jobs being reserved for women.

The Federal Government under President Jonathan has secured investment commitments worth 4.89 Trillion Naira.

Launched the NigComSat-1Rsatellite which will help expand Internet Bandwidth, monitor the weather and provide early warning to prevent natural disasters like floods, crop monitoring and urban planning. It has the attendant benefit of reducing the over $1 billion spent in purchasing Internet Bandwidth from abroad.

Nigeria’s banking industry rescued and stabilized by the establishment of the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) in the year 2010.

MasterCard made Nigeria its regional headquarters for its West/East and Indian Ocean islands zone raising the profile of Nigeria’s e-commerce industry.

Nigeria’s GDP grew by a record 8.29% during the last quarter of 2010 and by over 7% in 2011. In the first quarter of 2012 Nigeria had verifiably become the fourth fastest growing economy in the world as recently attested to by several multilateral bodies and trading partners.

Revival of the Textile industry via the 150 billion Naira Textile Industry Bailout. As a result the United Nigerian Textile Limited was reactivated amongst others and 2000 employees re-engaged.

Non oil exports from 2010 (standing at $2.3 Billion) and subsequent years are ten times what they were in 2000 (which were $200 Million) as a direct result of this administration’s intervention in the Textile Industry and Real Sector.

It better u go to your village in Bayelsa and tell your people this stupid story of yours. Senior muntula

pictures: Oritsejafor was given a jet to make his work easier at his level ,I don't
know the main reason why these people are pulling out of CAN. Nobody has showed
evidence that the jet was solely bought by the govt. Oritsejafor
has single handedly lambasted Boko Haram without fear and risking his life ,he
should be highly commended for standing for Northern christians.
Okay , they want him to carry placard and be condemning govt all the time like
Bakare. Show me the difference between now and all past govts. None.
Now that it is south's turn to rule Nigeria, they are pulling out of CAN.
If there are issues with Oritsejafor's style of leadership ,
there are proper avenue of dialogue within the ministers in CAN to settle their grievances.

Politics / Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by addey(m): 8:52pm On Dec 26, 2012
thelastPope: Big question for these ACN trolls on NL

If Fashola is such a big success in Lagos like their media want us to believe, why did ACN loose several LGAs in the last LGA election to PDP and ACN had to rig it?

SMH at the level of propaganda from these peeps!

If you want to be sincere, then you have to talk in specifics, not this generalised successes you lot talk about.

What has he achieved in:

Education: Lagos schools are worse of today than they were 10 years ago. Dilapidated structures everywhere with not enough teachers and it isnt even free because the students still pay all sorts of fees. In Lagos, it is only the very poor who cant afford private schools that send their children to government schools. In Benin city, which is ironically another ACN state and in which the governor has done less time than Fashola, It is the other way around. People are widthdrawing their children from private schools and sending them to public schools because the public schools are great. Fashola is the only governor in Nigeria and in the history of Nigeria as far as I can recall, that has increased schools fees by over 1000%. He increased LASU school fees from 25k to 250k and as much as 300k for some courses. This is not even imaginable. It is as diabolical it gets. Then when the students protests, he sends in bruttal policemen to chase them away. Many have had to drop out from school because they cant afford it. This is the same guy who said the FG was too high handed by sending the army to Ojota

Health Care: This one is just humorous. Fashola and ACN in 13 years havent built one new hospital for Lagos. Still the old LUTH and general hospital. No change. Instead, they are praising him for renovating small 30 by 30 maternity centers. centers that where even renovated by MTN foundation, with their sign post conspiciously displayed. His only achievement here was to sack 788 doctors in one day. That is one of the worst administrative blunders in the history of Nigeria. I laughed when I read a previous post that he is a great administrator! Great administrator? Someone whose solution to doctors strike was to sack the whole doctors in the state? Ha! Is that how he will rule Nigeria? The presidential guard will pursue him back to Lagos! lol! If he cannot manage such crisis in one state of Nigeria, how will he manage Nigeria? Those who call GEJ clueless forget that he has continued to manage crisis after crisis and continues to pull everyone along. Love him or hate him, he has continued to hold everything together from North to south.

Roads: Its about six years now and Fashola cannot point to one major new road built in Lagos. I am still wondering where Lagos allocations go. It is funny that every time some credit is giving to Lagos in terms of facility and infrastructure, some of these ACN peeps quickly shout "Fashola is working" as if the facilities are built by Fashola. Lagos has become a business city powered fully by the private sector. All the infrastructures we enjoy in Lagos are built by the private sector, not Fashola. From the cinemas to shoprite to the various entertainment centers et al. I dont understand how that is Fashola working. Propaganda of course. After adding extra lanes to Lekki, he introduced toll gates to a residential area. I mean, that is a first again in Nigeria. Toll gates in a residential area? Some people go from Lekki area to main VI like 5 times daily and back and they have to pay toll fees each time they pass the road. And when the residents protest peacefully, the response, just like the LASU one, is a bruttal assault by his thugs in alliance with the police. He attacked hapless old men on a peaceful protest, yet some pumpkin heads here want us to believe he is a sane and civil guy. If it was GEJ that bruttalized people like that, these same political and tribal jingoist would not let us hear word on NL! Ridiculous to say the least!

Water ways: This is just a funny one. Promises and more promises right from Tinubu's time. Nothing has even left the ground. Total failure here. Nothing to talk about

Transportation: This to me should have been his biggest achievement, but the ban of Okada has rubbushed it. How? The ban of okada has shown that the BRT project is a failure. Totally inadequate. Doesnt even come close to solving half the problem of Lagos transportation. Now, people are trekking like real villagers that Fashola has turned them into and they are swearing for him while they trek. Lagos is now total chaos. The traffic has escalated like times 4. What Okada ban was supposed to achieve, has turn into a total disaster. 3 to 5 hours now to go from Ikeja to VI or back, gauranteed! The traffic is alraming now! No transport on the road. People wait at the busstop for 2,3 hours trying to get a bus or keke. That is the legacy of a failed administrator who knows nothing of how to manage a metropolitan city. He thinks you can just wave a magic wand and scare everyone into submission. And some propaganda crew here wants us to believe he can manage Nigeria. He tops it up with the enactment of the Lagos traffic law 2012. A draconian law that looks like it was written by arrogant baby lawyers. I have read and re-read the law and it makes for a fine comic relief. many of the laws there will not stand a challenge in court. They are as draconian as it gets and many parts of that law contradicts the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. The late Gani would have made a piece meal of it!

Public Amenities: Another big zero! Lagos, after 13 years of ACN rule, still doesnt have public water. I mean in 2012, you cannot open your tap and get clean portable water. You cannot even get unclean water, with all the water in Lagos. A city where you dig only 5 feet in some places and hit water, you cannot get pipe borne water in your house. Yet the state government collects all sorts of taxes like there is no tomorrow. I dont know how a government that cannot even provide something as basic as public water is considered fit to rule Nigeria. Only sychophants would endorse that!

After 13 years of ACN rule, Lagos still reminds me of the movie, slum dog millionaire! That movie should have been shot in Lagos. Would really fit! Fahosla is like a doctor who rubs skin lotion on a sore and closes his eye lid tightly, believing that when he opens his eyes, the sore would have been completely gone. That is what he did in places like Oshodi. He brought in bulldozers and task force agberos and chased everyone away and celebrated the clearing and cleaning of Oshodi. But he forgot that the dirt in Oshodi were created by a depraved and down trodden masses. So by clearing the dirt and not alleviating the plight of the depraved masses, he only rubbed body lotion over a bad sore. Now Oshodi is fast becoming like it was before. And several more Oshodis are springing up. Like Egbeda, Ketu, Ikorodu, Ojodu Berger and many more are becoming the new Oshodi because the problem was never solved. It just got replicated! Please if you want to talk about Fashola's achievements, talk specifics and we would take you serious. as for specifics, they are not impressive. They are all wash! Propaganda at its best. The strategy is simple. Do a project with 1 million naira and promote it with 100 million naira. Fashola will be a very good music artist manager in Nigeria!

Fool! - know u are paid to do dis, but can u pls show me one thing ur uncle Ebele did when he was in Bayelsa and since he came to power in Nigeria.

If you are using post paid meter, you are paying average of =N= 2,500.PHCN bill has become a nightmare to some people here is how to reduce your PHCN bill.00 per month but suddenly your meter reading went up which result in bill increasing up to =N=6,000.00 or more.
Please check your neutral cable if there is power on it i.e. if you are using single phase in house I mean two cables come from the pole to your house. The cable has one live and a neutral, it is the live cable that should has power i.e. the cable that is connected to either line 1, 2 or 3 on the pole the other cable which is neutral should not have power. You can text this with a small tester.
If you found out that neutral cable is showing light, what it mean you send sending power to the earth because on your distribution board both neutral and earth are connected together.
What you need to do is to connect the cable with power to live side and the cable without power to neutral. The will save you from paying bill for what you are not using.
This also applies to does using prepaid meter.

Oyedepo for instance has never taken any political stance, he is not seeking the favor of any political leader to be relevant. He is not seeking their favor for anytn.

I respect Pst Tunde Bakare so much, infact I campaigned for and voted for him in the last election even though I know he sometimes speaks b4 editing. He is still anointed and he is a prophet but he should not join the camp of the accuser of the brethren. Kukahs own is understandable becos the leadership of CAN has left the erstwhile cold catholic approach to become a voice of its own

You a canal Man and not lead by the spirit of GOD.
Car Talk / Re: How To Know If You Have Been Under-dispensed At The Fuel Filling Station by addey(m): 5:09pm On Nov 15, 2012
addey: I f you want to know you have been under-dispensed in the fuel filling station.

Whenever you are at the petrol station, as the attendant start to dispense the fuel the litter reading will not start from zero it either start from 0.2 or 0.3 that means they are taking 20% or 30% of a liter from every liter you buy.

But if the liter reading starts from zero then the station is giving you 100% of what you are buying. But this can only happen in few NNPC stations.

I have be in this type of mess before.

A family friend was trying to get a loan from a Bank but they refused and
my wife went a get de loan on her name and give it to them, hoping that they will pay back
but they refused to pay.

I was the one that pay back the loan when the bank was on my wife's neck.

So we all have to learn from this cos most people are not credit worthy

Obama prepared two speeches either WIN or LOSS
This will never happen in Nigeria cos the president must WIN at all cost
