Benue Assembly is still one assembly I don't understand their politics.Before now,APC was in minority and they produced the speaker.After gale of defections that rocked APC members in the house,PDP now have a very strong majority i.e. 22 members out of 30.These 22 members impeached the former speaker..
Why on earth would they still make APC member their speaker is devoid of reasoning

Makurdi- Speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly, Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange and all principal officers of the House were Tuesday removed from office in a unanimous decision by 22 out of 30 members of the House at the emergency sitting of the House presided over by a Speaker Pro-tempore, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Minority Leader Mr. Sule Audu representing Agatu state.
Moving the motion for the removal of the principal officers, Richard Ujege of Konshisha state constituency accused the removed Speaker of high-handedness. His motion was seconded by Anthony Ogbu of Ado state constituency.
The lawmakers thereafter elected Mr. Titus Uba of the All Progressives Congress, APC, representing Kyan state constituency as the new Speaker of the 8th. Assembly following his nomination by the member representing Otukpo/Akpa state constituency, Mr. Egli Ahubi of the PDP and seconded by Mr. Steven Tyochir representing Gwer East State Constituency.
The House also elected Egli Ahubi of the PDP as Deputy Speaker following his nomination by Mr. Joseph Ojobo also of the PDP representing Ogbadibo state constituency and seconded by his counterpart from Makurdi North, Mr. Avine Agbom.
Other principal officers elected by members includes Kester Kyenge of the PDP who was elected the Chief Whip. Mr. Avine Agbom who earlier defected from APC to PDP emerged the Majority Leader.
The Speaker and his deputy were immediately sworn-in by the clerk of the House, Dr. Torese Agena.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Titus Uba thanked members for finding him worthy to serve in the capacity and promised exemplary leadership at the 8th. Assembly.
The House later adjourned sitting till August 15th., 2018 following a motion moved by Mr. Paul Biam of the PDP and seconded by Damian Cheme representing Ukum and Gwer West state constituencies respectively.

I was amazed when I saw it too.
For the record,this is a Nigeria project and not Buhari's.No matter how we hate this Daura man,Nigeria should come first.
Nigeria Railway was totally in comatose before someone thought of reviving it.Now see what we have as every successive government will continue to build on it till it gets better.
No matter how who started a project,so far it's for the overall interest of all,i think we need to support it......

Seriously, I have been reading comments here on Frontpage in my ghost mode, I can swear considering the fact that this is Africa's and Nigeria's largest forum, the comments here isn't encouraging to anyone seeking solace in this country..

The hates, negativety and naiveness is out of proportion.. Anyone reading through comments here will think that Nigeria is one slum, archaic and blinded habitat..
Common Nigeria isn't that bad ..

I feel bemused and saddened when I read these hatred here and sometimes I feel like getting emotional, not because of how bad the country is but because of the mindset on some of the habitats of this country..

To some people,probably someone like you,Nigeria might be an el-dorado and heaven on earth but for someone like us who have done everything needed to be done but still do not have any tangible work you can call job would be filled with hatred towards the country that can,'t guarantee anything for her citizenry.Hence,the vituperations of many towards the country and the leaders irrespective of the parties....
