The next flight airlifting Nigerians who indicated interest to voluntarily leave South Africa would leave the country on Saturday, September 14th.



The Nigerian government had ordered the immediate evacuation of Nigerians from South Africa following a renewed xenophobic attack in the country. Already, a batch of 187 Nigerians transported by Air Peace had arrived in the country on Wednesday night with the Nigerian government promising returnees stipends and entrepreneurship training.



Confirming the takeoff of the second batch from South Africa, Prince Ben Okoli, President of Nigerian Citizen Association, South Africa (NICASA) said collation of names is ongoing by the Nigerian embassy in South Africa.

“We are busy doing the collating of names of intending returnees for the next flight. Hopefully, according to the consul general, the next evacuation will be done on Saturday,” he said.

A video which has gone viral on social media, captured moment Mike, Mercy and Omashola engaged in a discussion which centered on Tacha having body odour. 




Mike initiated the "body odour" conversation with Khafi who got quite close to Tacha after her love interest in the house, Gedoni got evicted. In their discussion after the Pure Bliss Challenge, Mike told Khafi to tell her friend to top up (apply roll-on) but also insisted that it shouldn't be taken as a big deal. 




He said, “Khafi tell your friend (Tacha) to top up ( apply roll-on)

“I said something to her but l don’t think she took my word. If anyone is musky in the house we should tell her. It shouldn’t be a thing.”




Mercy on the other hand alleged that Tacha might have body odour because she bleached. She further added that anyone who bleaches should always have a strong deodorant to pair it up with. 

Omashola also said that the odour was strong because she uses garlic to cook.


Recall that KimOprah talked about Tacha having body odour during her media tour shortly after she was evicted. According to her, Ella told her about it even though she didn't notice it.

Matchroom Boxing owner and manager/promoter of recently dethroned Anthony Joshua, Eddie Hearn, has come out to blast former British heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, claiming no one is interested in his fights.



Fury, who gave up his four heavyweight belts due to his battle with mental health four years ago and is still undefeated as a heavyweight boxer, faces unknown but undefeated Swedish boxer, Otto Walin on September 14th, and Hearn, who Fury has verbally blasted so many times in the past, feels Fury is fighting people he knows can't beat him.



Fury defeated Tom Schwarz in two rounds in his most recent fight, after a draw with Wilder.



Hearn speaking to Sky Sports said: “Fury has easy fights that nobody is interested in.

“He supposed to be the best heavyweight in the world? Nobody is talking about his fight.

“The interest in Fury is diminishing. It is nearly a year since he fought Wilder and what has happened? Nothing.

The top three winners of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) are yet to get money over the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) broke state.



It was expected that $14.2m will be shared between the best eight teams at the 2019 AFCON but the continental football body is yet to pay out the sum. Algeria was expected to get $4.5m for winning the football tournament. Senegal and Nigeria on the other hand were expected to go home with $2.5m and $2m respectively for coming second and third.



However extracts from the minutes of CAF’s Executive Committee meeting in Cairo on Tuesday September 10, which was obtained Sports Extra, revealed that the continental football body's present income does not match expenditure and its officials are dipping into its cash reserves to meet recurrent expenditure.



“It appears, from the analysis of the Finance Committee, that CAF has entered a cycle of structural deficit that will reach about six $6m at the end of this year if it is not reversed immediately,” CAF’s Finance Committee chairman, Fouzi Lekjaa was quoted as saying.

“There is a need to reverse this deficit trend by rationalising spending and making use of better revenue potential for CAF.”



Brila FM reported days ago that the Nigeria Football Federation only received $600 000 from CAF back in August, from the total sum for finishing third in the competition. Winners of the competition Algeria and runners up, Teranga Lions of Senegal, and fourth-placed Carthage Eagles

The Federal Government has asked the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to apologize to Nigerians for willfully distracting the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari with a frivolous election petition, instead of appealing the ruling of Wednesday’s Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, stated this in a statement issued on Thursday from St Petersburg, Russia.



He said while the PDP and its candidate reserve the right to pursue their petition to the highest level, “they will be better served by dropping their toga of desperation and realising that there is a limit to tomfoolery.”

He said, ”Nigerians are tired of this orchestrated distraction, and will rather wish that the opposition, having lost at the polls and in court, will now join hands with the government to move Nigeria to the next level.

”This is more so that the judgement validating the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari was unanimous that the petition lacked
merit, that the petitioners failed to prove any of the grounds upon which their case was anchored and that President Buhari is eminently qualified to contest the poll.”

According to him, instead of casting aspersion on the judiciary with their poorly-framed reaction to the ruling of the Tribunal, the
PDP and its candidate should be thanking their stars that they are not being prosecuted for coming to court with fraudulently-obtained evidence.

He said, ”It is intriguing that a party that trumpets the rule of law at every turn will present, in open court, evidence it claimed to have obtained by hacking into a supposed INEC server.

“Don’t they realize this is a criminal act for which they are liable? Instead of threatening to head to the Supreme Court, driven more by ego than commonsense, they should be sorry for allowing desperation to overwhelm their sense of reasoning. Enough is enough.”

The Minister commended the Tribunal for not only doing justice to the case but for explaining, in painstaking details that lasted hours, how it arrived at its judgement.



”We also thank Nigerians, who voted massively to re-elect PresidentBuhari, for their continued support,” he said

Tech giant Samsung has said it will launch its hotly anticipated first foldable smartphone on Friday, months after faulty screens forced an embarrassing delay of its release.

The world’s largest smartphone maker spent nearly eight years developing the Galaxy Fold, but had to hold its launch in April after reviewers reported screen problems within days of use.

It was a major setback for the firm, which was hoping to spark demand for its high-end phones with the launch of the $2,000 device, with profits plunging in recent quarters in the face of a weakened market and strong competition from Chinese rivals.

After months of “refining” the Galaxy Fold — which is ready for use on high-speed 5G networks in some markets — Samsung said it will release the smartphone in South Korea on Friday, followed by select countries including the United States, Germany and France.

The firm will also offer a programme to Galaxy Fold users under which the company would cover 70 per cent of the cost of screen repair once within a year of use.

Samsung shares were up four per cent in afternoon trading in Seoul.

The Galaxy Fold has been widely promoted as the “world’s first foldable smartphone”, while rivals such as China’s Huawei have been racing to bring similar devices to market.

Samsung has a history of humiliating setbacks with major products, most notably a worldwide recall of its Galaxy Note 7 devices in 2016 over exploding batteries, which hammered its reputation.

The firm has also been caught up in the intensifying trade war between Japan and South Korea stemming from World War II disputes.

The row saw Tokyo impose tough restrictions on exports crucial to South Korean tech giants in July, and Samsung vice chairman Lee Jae-yong — who called the situation a “crisis” — has visited Tokyo to secure materials.

Analysts have said the trade dispute will affect the delivery of Samsung products — among them the Galaxy Fold as it relies on a chemical film produced by Japanese firm Sumitomo Chemical.

The Enugu State chapter Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Chukwuma Igbokwe, has warned that if negotiations on the approval of salary chart for the implementation of the new minimum wage failed again, organised labour will be left with no option but “to take drastic action.”

Igbokwe gave the warning in Enugu on Wednesday while briefing journalists on the negotiations going on in Abuja.

He said labour had endured enough of foot-dragging by the government and would embark on industrial action and demonstrations if negotiations failed again.
“We have only one alternative and that is action. If the negotiations should end in a deadlock this time round, then our principals in Abuja will summon us for a National Executive Council meeting and then we will take a decision and decide on what action to take.

“When we meet, we will weigh our options and take a decision that will cut across the country and it will be total,” he said.

Igbokwe, however, expressed optimism that now that the Head of Service, Eyo Ita, had resumed duty and reconvened the negotiations, the acceptable salary chart would be agreed on by both parties.
According to him, what labour is asking for is not much and government should reconsider its position to allow for the smooth implementation of the minimum wage that had been passed into law since April.
