I just bought a Nigeria used Highlander 2004 v6 car. Whenever I make attempt to shift 5he gear from pack to drive it usually make grinding/shaking sensation and also when on drive atimes the gear slip or lose traction.
When I put it on my scanner it showed codes for heater sensor and crankshaft/crankshaft sensor pending.
Sir what can you say is wrong with car and possible solution to it. Thanks as I look forward to your reply.

Sleeving is not the same thing as ringing.
Sleeving is when a cylinder is worn or cracked or damaged and it is expanded to accept a sleeve which replaces the former inner surface.
Ringing is a change of the oil rings on the pistons because they are worn out and now allow oil to sip into the combustion chamber.
Half engine is quite self explanatory - half engine.

Do you plan to do any of the above stated?
If yes, what vehicle model and year?

Can I do ringing for my Toyota Highlander v6 2004 that is allowing oil to sip into the combustion chamber, wetting ignition plugs and putting stress on the fuel pump?

Clear the codes and re-scan. The temp sensor code will mean u driving the car without a temp reading.

A 4runner or Pathfinder is the best bet. If you're buying a pathfinder, please, make it a 2001-2004 model. You can also look at the QX4 or a 2001-2004 Xterra.

Also out of the two which one will you recommend base on ease of maintenance.

But what about the option listed above. 4runner is very good but my fear for it is high consumption compare to those ones listed since is a 4.0 engine. Also my consideration is not only for my road to everywhere I want to go to in Nigeria. I mean driving on the highway and the city

Some of them have ball joints problems like Honda so which of year do you think is better. Also why preferring it over highlander or lexus

I don't like xterra because of high cost of maintenance. Between 4runner and pathfinder which one is better and the year considering the about criteria listed above.
