SangoOlukosoOba: The Chinese are very smart! They have studied Africans and are buying into our lapses. Those guys are going to recolonize Africans with debt.
A time will come when we will be so hooked to them and will have nowhere to run to.
Free loans with mad terms! China will give you loan, and still execute projects with same loan, with its own Chinese company.
Let’s be truthful, Africans are dumb! Africans are not dumb. It's the politicians in Africa that are greedy to collect those loans. Just see the way Rotimii Amaechi was bragging about the Chinese railway loan when convincing Buhari. They hardly care about the future of Africa. It's sympathetic How many of these Chinese railways are totally in use now |

Timoleon: Sad sad end.
Too many people are just one more frustrating event away from a total mental breakdown.
If you are currently going through hard times please stay hopeful. With the right level optimism and a steady grinding and hustling, you’ll breakthrough. Yes, you can see your mates and sometimes younger ones doing better, know this and know peace; there are many people who had their breakthroughs in their forties and fifties.
Get up, go out. If you have to do menial jobs, do it. You’ll earn money to feed and sort some bills. People wey you dey fear say dem go judge you no care as you dey hunger and frustrate so why care about them as you dey hustle to push yourself in life.
Stay strong brother, stay positive sister. This shall pass. Believe and push harder, it surely will. Thanks for this motivation. God bless you. |

You just typed the wrong thing above. Prof Wole Soyinka is the best. Achebe focused majorly only on books/novel while Nobel laurel PROF Wole Soyinka focused on everything about literature- poems, script writing, plays, poetry, novels, essay, research, introduction of new words in the English dictionary and world encyclopedia. nedekid: Last I checked, Charly boy is over 70 and neither did he address Soyinka as a fool. Yeah, it is easy for you to address people greater than you as fools or say they are stupid. Obviously, if they are as you say, it means you are the opposite right? You are smart and wise abi? Anyway as I always say, Nigerians have "mouth". Only in Nigeria will you see a poor man trekking pass a mansion and then say the owner does not have taste, that if the owner had consulted him, he could have adviced him on a better design. Only in Nigeria will you see millionaires discussing business, a job seeker will put mouth to advice them on how to make money. You that only recently applied for a job as a customercare staff in a mushroom company on the outskirts of Lagos is the same person addressing people obviously more than you as "fools" and "stupid". MikeofAfrica: William Shakespeare wrote the most complicated novels in human history. Only sound students of literature understood the shakespeare's English.
Yet his books recorded a huge success in the world literally market. I was a Science student but I could remember reading Shakespeare's novels while in secondary school. I was later introduced to the edited version of his " Lamp tales from Shakespeare " which was easier to understand.
Hence the excuse that you are giving for the flop of Soyinka's books in the literally market does not hold water. If any of Soyinka books is a masterclass like Things fall Apart, it will be a hotcake in the literally market like Shakespeare books.
Soyinka is a good author but when it comes to natural talent in writing and literature, he is no where near Achebe. What Soyinka has going for him is a more expose knowledge of literature.
This is understandable since Achebe was a medical student before moving into literature. Hence Literature was not his first choice of carrier yet he became the greatest writer in the African continent.
Comparing Achebe and Soyinka is like comparing Okocha and Mikel Obi. Okocha is a more talented midfielder than Mikel but Mikel was more expose than Okocha. Hence Mikel won trophies that Okocha never won.
However even with those trophies, we all know that Okocha is better than Mikel. Similarly, even with the Nobel prize, we all know that Achebe is better than Soyinka. You just typed the wrong thing above. Prof Wole Soyinka is the best. Stop telling lies. Yahaya Bello is a good example Mediahq: My First 100 Days As Governor of Lagos
I have a vision for a new Lagos Here is my action plan for the first 100 Days in office.
1.0 Increase Minimum Wage to N60,000 on Day 1 in Office, the salary of Civil Servants will be increased by 100% to N60,000 monthly. The target is to reach N100,000 as soon as possible. This will cover everybody including street sweepers.
2.0 Moral suasion to persuade the Organised Private Sector to follow Govt's lead by stopping casualisation and also increase their minimum wage to a living wage. Banks, telcos, oil companies, multinationals, large national corporates, etc will be incentivised with PAYE tax credits to stop casualisation and index their minimum wage to their capacity to pay rather than current market wage rates which are suppressed by high unemployment. A first step for a Lagos where every worker has health care, pensions and similar benefits.
3.0 Cancel Alpha Beta's Contract which costs the State N5bn monthly.
4.0 Use the savings from the cancellation of Alpha Beta contract to set up a grand Loan Scheme for Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises. Ensure at least 10,000 beneficiaries in the first 100 Days. We expect the scheme to benefit up to 1m beneficiaries in 4 years.
5.0 Establish a portal for publishing costs of all government projects and compare them to World Bank standards to eliminate waste and corruption.
6.0 Issue a 10-year order for 10,000 vehicles to an auto manufacturer that commits to building an auto assembly in Lagos with a credible plan to achieve 50% value added within 5 years.
7.0 Pull down all toll gates in the Lekki Ajah axis and Ikoyi link bridge.
8.0 Build a monument in memory of our slain sons and daughters at the old Lekki Toll Gate.
9.0 Advertise for the employment of 10,000 teachers with outstanding grades (First Class and Second Upper or Upper Credit) to start a process of repositioning teaching as a middle-class career.
10.0 Execute a Memorandum of Understanding with all Road Transport Unions for the implementation of a rehabilitation and retraining program, and take Agberos off our roads.
11.0 Invite bids for the design and construction of 100 km of rail across Lagos.
12.0 Host an education summit with all stakeholders to get buy-in into GRV's plan for partnerships to upscale public schools to the standards of the best private school.
13.0 Host a health summit with all stakeholders to get buy-in for partnerships to upscale services at Primary Health Centres to best-in-class, laying the foundation for an effective referral system.
14.0 A summit for various artisan associations such as bricklayers, plumbers, mechanics, welders, carpenters, tailors and other technicians with the objective of creating a process for their certification and access to small-scale loans.
15.0 Working with my Party, the Labour Party, appoint first-class caretaker Chairmen for each Local Govt, each appointee being skilled enough to be a potential Governor.
16.0 Set a date for Local Government elections.
17.0 Issue Guidelines to open up the BRT routes to all investors who meet the minimum standards. Create a program for widespread investment in public transport by all willing Lagosians and investors.
18.0 Issue Guidelines for markets to operate autonomously and appoint their own Iyalojas and Babalojas.
19.0 Release Guidelines for a new waste management system for separating waste to paper, plastic and organic from homes; a first step towards a world class system for turning waste into biogas and fertilizer.
20.0 Emergency rehabilitation of buildings and facilities in 100 primary and secondary schools pending comprehensive reconstruction.
21.0 Enumeration of all apartments that have been vacant for more than 180 days, and commencement of a program to ensure occupancy by 31st Dec. At least 100 such apartments are to be occupied in the first 100 days.
22.0 The commencement of the rehabilitation of 100 inner roads spread across all Local Governments in Lagos.
I am determined to set Lagos on course to become First World in 30 years. Hold me accountable after the first 100 Days.
