Your question is betraying your age. This was a Nigerian Army General in civilian government. This people are trained not to forgive disloyalty and double dealing in any shape or form.
Only Abacha, IBB, Buhari, Ojukwu, Gowon, Mohammed and other former military heads of states are the other ones who can understand what was at play here. Nigerian military generals don't understand and cannot abide disloyalty. It was drilled into them from a young age and they have seen death of friends and family in coups and counter coups in the 60s and 70s. Obasanjo will also never forgive GEJ for promising everybody he begged on his behalf from the north only one term in office. Whether it is right or wrong not to forgive or not is besides the point. The man remains unforgiven, you cannot negotiate a permanent thing.
This Obasanjo man is very dangerous, he is actually very bitter with a lot of people, Atiku and GEJ are prominent among them. He is in his late seventies, has seen everything, heard everything and does not give a damn even if the entire Nigerian fraudulent political system has to crash down around him. I think we should be thankful for that.

This is actually a good commentary on Jonathan, no interference. It is one of the few things I praise him for, that and the lack of political prisoners. Otherwise he is a generally clueless, corrupt, self absorbed, clannish president.

If he did the survey in PH, it is probably true. What you can say is that it is non representative of the entirety of rivers state. As you move away from PH, things start taking a different coloration. Wike might actually be stronger (not to the extent of leading by a wide margin) in the Ikwerre heartland however Kalabari, Ogoni, Bonny and Andoni areas are probably strongly against Wike.
PH has a large number of other ethnic groups and Wike is going to lose by a wide margin in that city, same for Bonny.

May I remind you that as Minister of State for Education, Wike had two bosses whose imprimatur were needed before concessions could be made to striking lecturers? Buhari' s interview is the best I have seen by a presidential aspirant so far. The carriage and the marshalling of points was superb. I liked the way he reacted to the suggestion about him possibly leaving APC if he fails at the primaries..."but I signed, I gave my word that I would not leave"....That is a presidential material, the same question asked of Jonathan was bare faced lies on national TV.

OBJ is quite wicked. He knew the man's limitations yet he foistered him on Yaradua as VP. When Yaradua was sick he harangued his family to admit the man was indisposed to be president so that the deeply flawed GEJ could be president. The calculation was that he would be the mentor and power behind the throne not knowing the simpleton, a-level teacher and NDDC man was going to fall into the hands of other godfathers and a powerful Niger delta mafia. The result is where we are now.

This Buhari guy. very very sound. He is operating from a broader political context than most people commenting here can understand.
I just watched all the clips. This guy is a far better material than GEJ. Most of his examples coming before 1985 have most of the younger people staring into space which is sad, why can't you read history. For the Ibo youth, a lot of them can regurgitate thrash about Ibo massacres but probably were not told that Nigeria was going to develop atomic power in the 80s, that Nigeria airways had the most aircraft on the African continent or that Nigerian Shipping Line had about twelve ships. That Nigerian heads of state speak at the UN general assembly and the world shakes.

The Babangida and Atiku kind of people should not near the seat. It is not an insult on these.people, it is just fact. Most departmental budgets are padded, half of the capital budgets are for non existent projects and stolenby individuals. We need.a president who would send IRS after tax defaulters without fear or favour.. We need someone who will watch our dishonest FDI partners who bring in say $1bn to build a business, then take $1bn back home every year as profit...which means the tax code.is either not working or our tax people do not have good acxountants. Even a Buhari would be able to offer only his incorruptibility and at the end of the day he needs a nasty hatchet man for Ngozi Iweala's kind of office. Jonathan however.is not qualified at all for post 2015 elections Nigeria.

Ibos have all the rights and pedigree to hold elective offices in Lagos, there is no need to bad mouth yorubas about that. After the civil war in the 60s, my parents first landlord was an Ibo man. I still wonder now how that could have come about that an Ibo man could own houses of three bed flats in Lagos. The answer is the industry of the Ibo, the magnanimity of Gowon and the welcoming nature of Yorubas. In Rivers State, Ibos were not so lucky. The point is made Lagos belongs to everybody like everywhere else in Nigeria.
