Politics › Re: Awolowo: Their Greatest Statesman Ever Liveth!!! by Adminisher: 1:51am On Jan 27, 2016
AWO had more brains in his left little finger than all other regional and national governments in Nigeria combined since independence. He set the pace and others followed and yet he never became President. When you look at the clueless drunken people we have had in that office you tend to believe that a people get the government they deserve.

Politics › Re: Defence Minister In Russia To Buy Arms by Adminisher: 8:09pm On Jan 24, 2016
GoogleAfrica:
The Defence Minister, Air Marshal Monsur Dan-Ali and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar, yesterday night departed for Russia to purchase vital military hardware needed to sustain the tempo of aggression against the terrorists.

The duo left for Moscow to inspect the war planes ordered by Nigeria in order to give the Boko Haram elements a final putsch and ensure they never harassed any community once such an area is cleared .
Specifically, the top brass officials left Abuja to purchase two Mi-35 Attack Helicopters and 10 Mushak Super Trainers from Russia.
According to the source, which pleaded for anonymity, “this is towards the commencement of re-equipping of the Nigerian military. This time, government wants to ensure that Boko Haram insurgents never return to any community once they are flushed out.
“The military will utilise these war planes to carry out reconnaissance missions and rescue operations and also provide needed aerial support to our troops. What happened in the last dispensation is gradually being surmounted.
“Because of the current successes recorded against Boko Haram, they have not just been degraded but the morale of the officers and men fighting in the war theatre is very high”.
Nigeria suffered severe international military blockade since the insurgents began their debilitating activities leading to the take-over of more than 12 local government areas in the North-East geo-political zone.
Also, efforts made by the military authorities during the President Goodluck Jonathan administration to purchase needed ammunition were frustrated, leading to sourcing of arms from the black market and the consequent embarrassment to the country.

Politics › Re: Buhari Set To Cancel Strategic Chinese Direct Investments In Place Of IMF Loans. by Adminisher: 5:43am On Jan 24, 2016
What kind of a NONSENSE thread is this?. It is not a criticism, it is not in support. It just annoys. IMF loans and Chinese strategic investments exist for different things. IMF loans are to support currency or fiscal regime or to provide guarantees to countries who want to take commercial loans. Some Chinese loans come with equity investments , some are low interest loans targeted at supporting you when you buy Chinese products or you patronise a global technology they are expanding into like high speed rail.

Nigeria should have a portfolio of options and Buhari is exploring them all.
Politics › Re: Financial Times calls Nigeria's economic approach the height of foolishness by Adminisher: 9:20pm On Jan 23, 2016
omohayek:
The true mark of cluelessness is blaming Kemi Adeosun for two areas of policy over which she has no control. It takes real ignorance to blame the finance minister for an FX policy which is actually set by Godwin Emefiele, the head of the CBN; she also had no hand in the NSE's difficulties, as the CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange is a man named Oscar N. Onyema.
Thanks for this.
Real economic experts don't call themselves that. There is even no such thing as an expert who knows anything about real economics. Whatever works in country A fails in country B. Buhari wants to keep two tier exchange regime and pivot Nigeria financially to Asia and the middle East where the cheap money is so that money can be released for infrastructure, education and security. We should stop listening to short term profit investors who move money in and out of markets on a whim. They failed the Jonathan regime and Buhari will not even give them face. What we need are people who want to invest in Nigeria long term. We have seen them before ; Shell, Mobil, Chevron PZ, CocaCola, DHL, FedEx, Lever Brothers, Heineken ..so many companies who will bring money and talent to build things and develop our manpower not fast money moving in and out of stock exchange like yoyo.

Guys like you make me believe we still have hope in this country.
Your have to be joking to think Nigeria can grow without loans after all the looting of the Jonathan era. Buhari in his first incarnation of Head of State was opposed to loans but the situation of things demand it. We have to throw unemployed young people at infrastructure projects and manufacturing. The money to do that has to come from somewhere. The last acts of Jonathan in office were to damage the Naira by over importation of rice and to borrow to pay debt to fuel importers. The people who called that guy clueless are not wrong. This particular bond is low interest and is to finance capital investments.

Every country fights every enemy at the same time. There is no schedule for fighting. Running a country is not a business.
If Cameroon attacks today, we will not say we are busy with Boko Haram, let them take more Nigeria territory.
I think Buhari should FIRE them more for making these statements . They seem to be the ones setting different fires - IPOB, Niger Delta, Senate, et.c to faze the government. This is why Buhari should be very rigid and hard.

It is important to realise where we are coming from in all these. A few years ago, a man and his clique stole 75 billion in pension funds, he got a slap on the wrist and was later seen worshipping with Dr Clueless at Aso Rock chapel. We are noworking are a stage where a great portion of stolen funds are to be repatriated back to Nigeria.

There are very many dull PhD holders and sharp WASC holders.

PDP caused the current situation we are in. A bunch of crooks riding on an incompetent president, how would they have solved the problem?. They were even already destroyed before the elections. All the bright ministers abandoned Jonathan in the last week of his presidency. They also did last minute looting because Buhari said he was not going to prosecute corruption that happened before his government.

dialogue is not a destruction of Government property. Niger Delta own the oil but still most of their road is bad and their youth is jobless, what a senseless president. how many war did he want to create in one country? from Bokoharam to Biafra and now militant.
Correction please.
Niger Delta does not own the oil. The oil belongs to Nigeria. Niger Delta State governments own the land on which it is produced. Get things straight . No Niger Delta ethnic nationalities discovered oil that is two kilometers under the ground. It is not their property. It is the property of the entities that spent billions of dollars looking for the oil and producing it to the surface which are the FG and oil companies.

In democracy speeches are not that harsh except for dictatorship. This is not 83 but 16 of 21st century. I see ICC meet over nigeria. Boko haram is different from niger delta militants.you cant compare devil that is the former and the oppressed which is the latter.
Speeches are not harsh in democracy? Let me point out George Bush, Putin, Donald Trump. Even Hitler came to power in a democracy speaking very harsh words. I want you to research things well before posting . Niger Delta militants are not blowing up pipes. These ones are terrorists. The first thing Buhari did in office was pay up militants allowances. You have to be fair before God and man. This is all because of one man Tom Polo. Please always be fair to yourself and without sentiment.
The FG is asking one man to submit himself to justice for corruption and they are blowing up pipes after collecting payments for guarding goose pipes.

GEJ did more than dash amnesty to militants. He put himself and Nigeria's presidency under them and made billionaires and tin god's out of them. All in all the PDP is the party of cultists, kidnappers and billionaire militants. Well their nemesis is here . Everything comes to an end. NAF will rain death and destruction on them from 20000feet at night and they will be chased for months and years all over that region .

And that's Buhari's fault?

It's his fault that our economy is oil dependent?

It's his fault that oil price has crashed?

It's his fault that Jonah couldn't build upon our foreign reserves?

It's Buhari's fault that Jonah failed to save despite unprecedented earnings?

Wailers lack capacity for critical reasoning.
They don't. They are suffering from tribalism induced self hatred.
They know the truth and hate themselves for lacking the capacity to face it because it is an Hausa Fulani man that is doing what Jonathan should have done to change Nigeria .

Buhari as a military tyrant doesn't believe in negotiated settlement in regards to amnesty agreement pres Yaradua signed with militants.

He wants an outright military victory where by the militants will surrender unconditionally.
However,he is living in a fools paradise.
That amnesty money still pain am for body.
Negotiated settlement for people who bombed pipelines after getting paid for protecting pipelines.
This is the reasoning style that is making Nigeria a misfit in the world. It is sad. This is what Jonathan turned Nigeria to. A weak, big for nothing, undisciplined country of fraudsters and prostitutes. So Buhari should call the boys to Aso Rock and share money to them abi?
You guys are just cursing yourselves in this country.
