I'll advice you to go for A fresh passport. If your old passport didn't carry your husband's surname, you'll be told to visit Abuja which will cost you alot of money. Apply for a fresh passport to save yourself the stress pls.
And you think is easy as that?

She should contact a qualified medical doctor.

But some of this infection needs local root and herbs. There's one I gave my wife after visiting hospital and treatment with no solution.

Funny enough it was just N200 and that solved the issue. I do not sell and don't mention me for it.

This is what I saw after tracking my application, what should I do,.....I've gone to NIMC office for validation then asked to check if my info on their site is correct, but they said its not coming up as their network is down from Abuja
This stage of NIMC mismatch is the new trick of NIS officers. If you're sure you gave the right info relax but know it may take another one month to cross this stage because even when network is restored no one will push it further for you in time as they will be busy treating their client passport process.

This thing almost destroyed my jnr cousin brother, to the extent he feels ashamed of living the house, it cover him from head to toe within the period of six months, he can't go to work, he scratch and his body pieces fall off like powder. He has received series of injections and drugs on different occasions. Until one day a taxi driver in Abuja met with him at a car wash and sighted this ailment on him and he told him it's a small thing that he had the local Herb remedy for it. And that was the end and he's still using those concoctions as I write this because their meeting is barely three weeks now. Am not advertising please just a concern, if you need to make a contact with the man, make your intentions open here I can assist you for a try.

My Passport Collection Experience at NIS HQ Sauka, Abuja, was something else.

After waiting 8 weeks from date of capture i was tired and then decided to visit the NIS HQ Sauka, to know whats going on, i was told by the officer who verifies at the collection centre that my passport is still in production he then wrote E on the paper i gave him, i probed further to know what E means and was told thats the final stage of production, i left in disappointment.

Then at the 11th week of waiting i got a text from NIS clearly indicating that my Passport was ready for collection, i waited for the next morning and joyfully zoomed to the collection section at NIS HQ Sauka, Abuja. The officer at one of the counters checked and said i should submit to those at the collection room/store, after waiting for others in line when i gave them my paper the officers said it was too early for collection that i was supposed to wait for at least a week that they dont have my Passport yet, again i left in disappointment.

Then the 12th week after 8 days i went straight to the officers at the collection room and gave them my details on the sheet of paper then the officer told me to sit and wait for them to check, names where called for collection and people where trooping in and out, so after waiting close to 30 minutes the officer called my name i was really happy to hear my name but then the Officer said He cant find my Passport that i should check back in another weeks time, by now Anger don d enter me but i try control my anger and expressed my self that this was the same thing the other officer told me the previous weeks that what is going on? And immediately a very Kind Female Officer said its like she saw my name that i should wait She will check now within 2 minutes of checking She brought out my Passport, na so my Joy returned oooo, i thanked Her again and again(God bless the good officers). So i was then asked to register it and Activate it at the other counter.

So we have good officers who do what is right and care about others then we have bad officers who care about their pockets!
The official timeline is not being adhered to, especially when you are following the right steps without bribing anyone.
You finally got your passport. Congrats. We captured the same month and at Sauna Abuja but mine has been with me since 2 months ago. DIY is not for the weak

Yes changing it in Benin republic will favors u because the exchange rate will favor u compare to changing it in Ivory Coast that would not make naira to have much value to cefa ( I don’t know about the current rate)

Yes to carry such money is safe because the road from Benin republic to Ivory Coast is not like the one in Nigeria ( I don’t know about now because am no more there) cheesy

But i will advice u to carry like 300 to 500k then once u get there u can go to the market to search for those Nigerians who do this business of sending and receiving money from Nigeria ( although there are charges to pay)

But u can still carry it along with u if u are not ready to pay charges to receive it

The other options is your master card GTB or ECOBANK , but no put mind on this please because it may not work out when u get there
I know you are gathering info about UAE for us. Coming soon " My Sweet Dubai" Memories by EMEKUSBOY9 wink wink wink wink wink wink

LESSONS FROM THE UK JOB MARKET

It was quite interesting to know that the UK had more jobs than people were willing to work. That for me, was a good sign of a thriving society.

Before leaving Nigeria, I was positioning myself to get into the tech industry here, having gotten some experiences from back home.

I applied for several roles, both tech and non-tech roles, but I soon realised some things to help scale my application which eventually resulted in my new job.

Below are some lessons from that process;

1. Have transferable skills. They'll be relevant in whatever role you choose.

2. The UK job market is vast with opportunities.

3. Experience counts more than certificates. Certificates will get you on the interview list but your experiences and skills will decide you procession to the next phase.

4. It's better to research the UK job market before leaving home and get all the necessary skills and certificates to function in your chosen field while still home.

5. As an immigrant (especially from third-world country), your previous experiences/roles would not be automatically equated to the UK market's.

6. Have multiple CVs and cover letters and be ready to tailor them to each person specification of the role in question.

7. Be ready to go low but know what's too low for you. I knew I wouldn't venture into sales, store or warehouse Jobs. Generally, discarded any muscular or healthcare job. At first, I applied for several mid and high level jobs (banks, NGOs, creatives and tech). Got invited for the interviews and got to the last phase but they all reached out saying they couldn't give me job cos I have no in-country experiences. The defining feedback was from a London-based recruiter who reached out to me via LinkedIn. She told me my skills were relevant for a role at Meta (Facebook), but she soon realised I was fresh in the country and tol me they couldn't proceed because of my limited in-country experience. Interestingly, she's a Nigerian and told me as an aside that it would be hard to get those mid and high level roles as a newcomer to the country. She advised I start from lower positions.

8. Research about companies, their work policies, environment and benefits. The first offer I got within the first two weeks of arrival was looking good but after reading reviews online, I wasn't convinced to start with them. Stalled on the Friday before my Monday resumption despite signing the contract. I just believed better offers would come.

9. Give yourself time.
As a Chartered Accountant any hope for me there?

I think getting a passport is easier and cheaper for those of us in remote northern states.

A friend paid 35k here in Sokoto to an officer (express as they claim, cos they usually charge 25k) and got his passport in less than 24hrs. He was captured in less than 1hr after payment.

I choose the DIY path since I will not be needing it anytime soon, paid N17800/person for myself and wife last Saturday.

We didn’t book any appointment, just walked to there office in sokoto today being 16/08/2022 with all required documents in a file. The officers weren’t discriminating if it’s through them or DIY, they see it as their duty to attend to you.

We were both captured after going through all the processes and left there in less than 40mins. We were told the passports will be ready between 4-6 weeks (fair enough for us).
It's not the enhanced ppt. They don't use NIN over there.

Please, I've captured since May 12th, I was at the Immigration office (lbadan) last week, and they said my passport isn't ready.

While tracking it online, it hasn't ticked the last option. Will I get a text message when it's ready? Please help.
Sure all things being equal you will be notified from the track site or via SMS but check again after a month if you've not be notified via those platforms

Anyways, we have resolved on getting a new birth certificate to reflect the date that was changed!
Wow. Typographical error . A new birth certificate is better than another round of stress.
