Hello house,

I just got an email notification informing me that i had a message in mycic account. I've been asked to bring my passport to CDHC "to finalize processing of my application". I did medicals on July 11th and my results were sent to the embassy on the 25th. God is faithful!

Well, I also paid my admission acceptance deposit but didn't attach it when I applied. I wasn't asked to pay tuition and board. I sent an email to cdhc to ask if there was any further instructions for me and I was told that no further action was required from me after completing my medicals and my passport will be requested for at the time it is needed. I have decided to wait for them to ask for what they need o! quote author=Onye oma]

Hi, I went through ebugirl's post too and she confirmed that she wasn't asked to pay tuition and board. She didn't pay anything and got her TRV.

She paid an admission acceptance of $200 and attached the receipt from the school (which as I said earlier shows committment, cos that is nothing to prove financial capability)...

Nuendo: Please how did you carry out the medical without the passport. Or are we meant to just go and do that and not worry about the package (tuition and board) at VAC??

Have others gotten their TRV's without these other instructions

Many congratulations!!! I got only the medical instructions myself. Since they didn't ask for any other thing, don't bother urself. If and when they need additional documents, they'll ask for them. Congrats again n where r u headed to?

Just to inform the house that i picked up my student Visa this morning at VFS.

God has used the wonderful month of Ramadan to bless me. I hope i have this same elated feeling wen my CFA result comes out tomorrow.

Submitted on the 21st of March via paper, went for medicals on the 25th of May, submitted back my passport on the 11th of June.

Guys I just got my TRV today!!! Saw the message in my CIC account this evening. I was sooo elated. After submitting my passport on the 8th of June. I applied online on the 26th of April.

Guy check the mailbox you typed in your application form. Check your inbox and spam mail. Bcuz the Lagos embassy would snd you an mail on further instructions and what to do and send to them. It's not just the cic message u look out for but the email from Lagos. I got mine the same day with my mail from cic account. And it said send your passport three weeks after medical.

It depends on the school, I think. I know concordia uni n mcgill r english language universities although knowledge of french is an advantage. In my own case, i didn't have to show french proficiency when I applied.

I am a self-sponsored applicant. My acct balance as at when i applied was N3m coupled with my funding package from the university. I have listed the documents which i submitted in my earlier post.

Well, after getting my admission, i gathered all the documents listed on the personal checklist generated via the MyCIC account. I submitted all the necessary forms, my admission letter, funding award letter, letter of introduction from employer, study leave approval letter, my Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria exam results, my letter of explanation stating my reasons for proceeding for my masters program, my CAQ, university transcripts, police character certificate, pay slips for 6 months, statement of account showing about N3m. That's all i can remember for now.

Then i prayed hard and left the rest to God.

Lo and behold, it was my medical call. God has really surprised me cos i applied June 8 online.

Pat98: I had a long peaceful sleep last night. I haven't had that in over 6 months...from admission result expectation to CAQ application to study permit application. There is no word to describe the quantity of information I derived from this forum. I went through the whole process alone with tips and advice from this particular forum. This has to be the best forum in Nairaland!

Now is the time to give back...and openly of course. If you have any questions on the ONLINE application process, please just mention me in your post. I will be glad to help as much as I can.

The online application process is quite delicate and you have to be sharp to avoid the pitfalls. Never give the VO the smallest excuse to reject your application...but of course the God factor is involved.

PS: I am a scholarship student so I only submitted my award letter. I also think if after several weeks of submitting you do not receive a response, you can shrewdly visit the CDHC

olutimi1: My wonderful people...GOD has done it , I am speechless..just got my medical instructions. Submitted April 17th. I have been so careful not to disclose here that I submitted for a study permit along with a TRV for dependant my two year old son. We have both been issued medical instructions...my husband is our sponsor though I also have a full research funding for my LLM..God is great.I wish you all would also have awesome testimonies soon IJN.

You'll be surprised how much these guys appreciate honesty and if you succeed, everybody will start rushing dat way! besides, the quota allocated for such sponsors may have been left unused through the years!

I don't think the bank statement is a problem. You scanned a copy of your bank statement when you initially applied, i believe what they want to see is that copy of your bank statement which you had earlier scanned in support of your application currently in your possession.

I'd advise you to try paying with a card that isn't Nigerian. I had the same problem when i tried to pay with my Mastercard. I had to transfer the money to a friend in the US to help me out. It took him less than 5 minutes to complete the transaction. So you might want to try that option.

Two weeks after I had submitted my tuition fees receipt, and about a month after my medicals, I decided to go to the embassy and inquire about my application hoping it would remind them of my file. I filled the form at the entrance and submitted it with a letter of tuition payment from my university. In about 30mins, my phone rang and a lady asked if I was at the gate. I was then called in and given my documents with the visa. It was just done. na God do am! my start date was may 1st and that was on the 6th so I dash go airport, collect ticket waka that day. I didn't submit any extra extra document except an evaluation of two properties my dad owns. All the rest was what they asked for. I prepared my docs using info from this from and I'm very grateful for all your all, Oga Siga and others too numerous to mention. Any of you guys coming to Montreal, hala at your boy! meanwhile, make I continue to search for apartment to stay Good luck to all applicants! God dey!

Is there anyone that has successfully applied for TRV through the online application system. It seems pretty straightforward though. I am only required to fill the application form and attach (i) my CAQ (since i'll be studying in Quebec); (ii) Family Information; (iii) Proof of Means of financial support; (iv) Passport or travel document; (v) Digital Photo and (vi) Letter of Acceptance.

I haven't completed the online application yet because i am awaiting receipt of my CAQ. I would like to know if anyone has successfully applied through the online application here in Nigeria. Thanks

GboyegaD: Ok. I don't know what the paper application checklist is however a friend of mine going to Quebec and applying online wasn't asked all this in his application and he just applied last week. If your checklist requires it, please add it.
