Important Point to Note
If you are in the pool awaiting ITA, please increase your settlement funds amount way above the required minimum for your family size before January 1 2020 so your profile will not be rendered ineligible and also to avoid tie breaking issues if you fill in another profile. Minimum Settlement funds required by CIC increases every year. |

A friend of mine got ITA but they just got married like a month ago, no change of name yet or she's not planning to change her lastname. Would this cause a problem for them?
Thank you in advance She doesn't have to change her name. She can retain her maiden name. |

Already transferred to Lagos for stamping on the same Friday you submitted it. That's good news. I'm sure it'll be processed and returned to you within 2 weeks. i think the person you referred to probably had their's sent to Accra because I believe Lagos processing only started like 2 weeks ago. I hope so too. Oh you are right. Fingers crossed then. |

kintipsy: My people please i need your advice.
I evaluated my Bsc using ICES and I am considering using WES to evaluate my diploma that I just got. What is the implication of not using the same evaluating body?
Will I still get two or more certificates if both bodies are used? Thanks for your anticipated response! Yes. |

Did you include a letter from your bank? No. I used Axa Mansard letter + Money Market fund statement, Pension Fund letter + Pension fund statement. I'll send a PM if I find any useful info on the new MPs. |

Suspectzero: Congrats once again. Please were you able to clarify upon submitting your passport at vfs that copr is now processed in Lagos and no longer at accra? If so, did they give you any new timeline for receiving it? Thanks. Yes. The transmission fee has reduced and I got an email saying our passports have been transferred to Lagos for stamping. Timeline is 3 - 4 weeks. I know someone whose CoPR was issued within 2 weeks but she didn't receive it until after another two weeks. So, fingers crossed. |

Ottawa can be miserly with info most times. But have you checked your application again to be sure you filled all information correctly and submitted all required documents? Have you tried to send an email to any of the new PMs? |

The process was quite straightforward. Though I experienced delay in verification and my sister who is an alumnus of the school went on my behalf and "changed it for them". Before then, I had gone through a lot of fruitless attempts. |

NanaF: Congratulations!
This makes me feel a bit better because your POF composition (my mutual funds is with a stanbic though) is the same as mine and I also included a breakdown. I have been waiting since February and I sometimes think it has to do with my POF. Same VO also.
Wishing you all the best! Oh! That's a long time. Have you tried to enquire about the status of your application? Through gcms notes, call, cse, etc. Thank you for the kind wishes. |

DadR: Welcome back Adunnee & big congratulations re your PR.
A quick question, please. Was your 25% of pension funds a buffer or part of the required POF?
Hakuna Matata Thank you. Initially, It was part of the required PoF. But when I raised the CSE to include the statement, the funds in MMF was enough to cover the entire POF. |

Please I need clarification on this ACCA/CPA issue.
My husby has 3 more papers to write. His intention is to write 2 papers in Nigeria and the remaining one in Canada.
Does he mean he won't be able to convert his ACCA certificate to CPA upon completion?
Thank you. |

This night, May 9 2019, I could not sleep because I had some things on my mind and having read some people’s detailed PPR gist, I decided to start typing mine.
JOURNEY started in May 2018 with WES evaluation. Shortly before that time, my bestie relocated with her husband. Prior to her departure, she encouraged me to start planning my EE application. I had known about this since 2017, I was not just interested, partly because we lacked the funds. Even, I granted my bestie- who was my colleague as at then, days off to write IELTS exams…as “almighty HRM”. Lol.
So, I decided to start the process and I started reading up. My husband was originally interested in relocating to Australia so I started research from there. Later, I discovered that the process was somehow complicated and we may not even get PR because of our occupations, which were not in demand. After much ado, I settled for Canada, darling husband was still dragging his feet. I am resolute once I am sure of my decision, so I did not mind. Sometimes, I would whine and fake cries but it did not deter me from the process. Luckily, I got some amount of money from the company I resigned from in May, so I used part of the funds for ECA. I evaluated my Master’s degree from UNILAG. ECA was ready by August 2018. By that time, husby was ready to follow me into the pool of transit to Canada. Shortly afterwards, we commenced the evaluation process of his OND and B.Sc. WES caught us in the demand for SSCE. In all, his ECA was ready in December 2018.
Between September 2018 and December 2018, I had attempted IELTS two times. Listening was my major issue. I have short attention span. I remarked listening at the second attempt. EOR was negative. In January 2019, I gave IELTS another shot, hoping that I will scale through because it was CBT, but listening did me strong thing again. I was upset up to the point that I refused to pick up my TRF from BC. The day I checked the result online, I was angry. I later calmed down, and then I got the inspiration that I should tell my husband to register for IELTS while I register as well. My thought was that even if I do not get the desired score, maybe he will and then, he will be the PA. We registered for IELTS exam, CBT, wrote the exam on 14 March. After 5 days, we got our results and mine was the most beautiful result ever. Guess what? I got a 9 in Listening. Darling Husband also supported me with his scores. CRS shot up to 457. We sat pretty in the pool. *Yemoja things*
Meanwhile, in the spirit of optimism, we did medicals in December 24 at QLife Clinic. We got there before 8am, left around 1pm. My BP even went up; I did not know what went wrong. I had never had a high BP. We got ITA, 3rd April. Submitted 11 April. God came through for POF. Saved funds in Money Market Funds. My bestie who I mentioned earlier, paid for our application fees, including RPRF. Brethren, within a month, we passed IELTS, got ITA, and got AOR (from 14 March to 11 April).
To submit, we scanned the documents and placed them in their rightful positions. I wrote LOE to explain the breakdown of funds because I used Mutual funds with AXA Mansard and 25% of Pension funds. We also included the exchange rate calculation. We used the one from www.oanda.com
Medicals was passed in May, 22nd. We got BIL two days later. Biometrics was done 27th May. Then, SILENCE! We raised CSE 3 weeks after BIL and got to know our application is being processed in Ottawa. I called, raised CSE about 2 times afterwards to find out the status of our application. Nothing was passed. I think criminality was passed later in August. We ordered for GCMS notes in August but we didn’t receive it. The wait was excruciating, draining and tiring. The silence was loud. We mailed our darling Uncle Ralph end of August. He said nothing special about the status of our application. September and October were the slowest months so far. Everything in me wanted to get out of this country, but our dear IRCC had other plans. In September, I remembered that we did not include the statement of Money Market account. Thanks to Topsmamen, he encouraged me to raise CSE with the statement. I did immediately and it was acknowledged after six days. We got re-medical request Oct 22, earliest date from IOM was November 5th. Meds passed November 8th. Ghost update 14th November, and the almighty long awaited eagle landed at 10:46pm same day.
I am grateful to my bestie (my one and only Oyinye), my husband, my kids, my siblings especially my brother and the angels I met through this platform who later became friends. You all are amazing. Stencil (my love), Adepeju (my baby girl), LadyMarshall, iaatmguy (my sweetie ) Topsmamen, Yemblaze, you guys rock. I love you and I can’t wait to unite with you in our land. You guys made the wait easier than it would have been.
Finally, to God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask for, I give you my unreserved praise . |
