Hotstepper, sorry to overstep as this has been addressed before on nairaland.
The catholic school boards accross Canada have different rules. Take the case of London, Ontario for instance. You have a French Catholic school board and an English catholic school board in this city. Each one of those school boards has its own set of rules.
Anyone can enroll their child in a French catholic school in London. A baptismal certificate isn't required by the French Catholic school board. However, to enroll a child in an English catholic school in London, the parent will need to provide a baptismal certificate.

In short, there isn't one set of rules for all Catholic schools even within the same city. Also, Keep in mind that there can be more than 1 English Catholic school board or French Catholic school board in a given city.

Thank you.

Good morning house, I'm a newbie here with no experience whatsoever and hoping to get assistance and advice in all areas please. How can i join any WhatsApp groups (if any) or meet with someone to put me through please. Thanks
Hi. You are in the right place. There's a link for WhatsApp group on page 1 of this thread. To join the group, you need to read all the information on page 1 because you'll be assessed based on those information.

Just joking, there's no WhatsApp group. All the info you need is on page 1. Cheers

Please while creating a WES account, is it advisable to use my maiden name or my married name since my credentials have my maiden name and my passport has my married name
Use your married name to register.

While filling the forms, there's a place for you to write out your name the way it appears on your certificate

2. I can't measure o egbon, but the Catholic school my kids attend is far from Liberal. It's very conservative.
In addition, I am an Anglican, so we had to wait for the schools to offer admissions to kids belonging to the catholic faith.

I guess they sometimes soften their policies depending on competition based off the number of applications they receive.
Thank you so much. Now I know there's a possibility for non-catholic children to be admitted in Catholic school. We pray to find same favour when the time comes.

They will.not admit a child that one of the parents are not catholic as you need to prove that and also baptismal card of your child
Thanks.

Do you mean that baptised kids with non-catholic parents will not be admitted?

1. Child or parent(s). They may admit but will first give admissions to those that belong to the catholic faith.

2. Advantage: Your kid goes to school in a christian environment. They try as much as possible to bring up kids morally. The school bus them to church once a week for like a 30min mass. They pray alot of times even when they go out for field trips.

3. Catholic schools are government schools too. However, It's believed that Catholic school educated kids fare better in test scores than the regular public school.
Thank you so much.

Hello Canadians in Calgary, I have some questions:

1. Is it required for a child to be baptised in Catholic church before he/she can be allowed to enrol in a public Catholic School?

2. How much of morals do public schools teach? Are they entirely liberal?

3. Are there outstanding advantages of public catholic schools over govt public schools?

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Please I need advice, me and my wife have been nursing the ambition of relocating to Canada but somehow we couldn't start the process last year but we want to start the process now.

The issue is, I want to use an agent for the whole process but my friend is advising that I do it on my own that it's possible and easy to do. Truly from what I have read here and from all the info I have gathered so far, I think I can do it in my own.

Please advice me people, is it better to use agent or to to do it on my own?
Answer in bold.

If you think you can, you can
If you think you can't, you can't

Please can you kindly tell me how you were able to create another profile? Am i supposed to delete or withraw this present profile before creating a new one or im i to just leave thia one this way and start afresh. Pls bear in mind that i have applied to the PEI province and hoping i will be sent an EOI. If perhaps they decide to send me an EOI, how then will i get it since my present profile is no longer eligible. Thanks

Pls anyone that has answers to my questions should pls help out. Thanks
Create another profile using another email address, update your PEI EOI profile with the details of the new profile. Do it ASAP.

Don't mind me, I hate procrastination on this journey!

He’s planning to write before August .
Okay. I hope you are in pool already. Maybe the scores will come down before he gets his results. I don't think you should do spouse not accompanying. The process of adding your spouse post landing will be tedious and will take more time.

So chill in pool, ginger your husby to quickly write IELTS, start gathering your documents and let's be hopeful the score reduces to below 451.

All the best.

I am married but currently not claiming any points for that. I have total of 3 yrs experience. A yr in a separate organization though.
Why don't you ask your spouse to write IELTS, it is faster and cheaper than results evaluation and he will give you higher points than results evaluation. Please act fast because of your age. You will lose 5 points once you clock 30.

Good afternoon house.

I combine two WAEC results because I do not have D7 in Mathematics in one and D7 in English in the other result. Please do I have to evaluate both results with WES?

Thank you
No, you evaluate one. WES is less concerned with your grades.

Good morning everyone, I'm new here and i need detailed guidelines on how to go about my Canada immigration... Please and please help a brother out.

Any whatsapp group to help out, here's my number
08134593656

Sure, why not? I run an "agency". First instalment N2m, 2nd and final payment of N1.5m when you get PPR. Other terms and conditions apply.

Can I send my account number to you?

Meanwhile, you can check page 1 if it won't be so much of a bother or you can't for any reason meet up with the financial demands of my agency fee. wink

It's a DIY bro!
