dokasia:
PPR S [b]POF 100% gift deed from my father. Properly signed and notarized. I got my statement of account scanned and submitted with a reference letter from Firstbank.
LOE I explained a lot of things here. My wife’s name inconsistencies, my gift deed, etc. can’t even remember all
WORK REFERENCE LETTER I have only worked in one company since graduation, March 14th 2019 makes it 5years. I had my regional coordinator draft out the letter with appropriate Job description. We used a seal on the document and he signed. We submitted our application on the 5th of November 2018 (my brother created the profile, and uploaded all the documents. I didn’t even know the password to the account till after submission)
POST SUBMISSION I told myself I wouldn’t check my profile like a lunatic. I was lying to myself. I became that lunatic. Naira land was my home. I joined more than 5 WhatsApp groups. Well the one created by RamJ still has a special place in my heart. We are favored on that group. Oh yes, did I tell you my wife is actually Ify on the group? Hahaha. Don’t eat me guys. After submission, MEP was December 7th 2018, that night we booked an appointment for Biometrics at VFS Abuja for the 10th of December. Arrived ABJ on the 9th. Used google maps to locate VFS the next day, the whole process took about 45mins and our profile It has ended in praise!!! See me here shouting like an ambulance. Congratulations. Your level of faith is amazing. Wow! God honoured you bro. Congratulations once again. |

On another note, I was refunded the sum of N1665.30(by CIC) about a week after my application was submitted. Other than a credit alert, no explanation was given. Has anyone experienced this? Could there be an explanation for this?
Another thing is I submitted a generic letter of introduction from my bank, a certificate of treasury bills and a letter of non-indebtedness from my bank. I didn't submit any statement of account. Should I be worried? Can someone also assist in adding me to the February ITA group
Once again, please you guys should help a confused me Hi, I think the docs you submitted as POF are sufficient. When was your AOR? I think you should join AOR group instead of ITA group since you are post-AOR |

Progress2468: Good Afternoon my people,
Please I need help. I just received my ECA report from WES
somewhere was written, "the names on one or more of the credentials submitted for evaluation differ from the name above"
I looked carefully, only to see that on my NECO evaluation, my name Progress was spelt as Profress. Meanwhile I dont have my name spelt as such on any of my documents
Thought everything is fine in my bachelor's degree
Please what do you advice? What can be done? Is it something to worry about.
Although I still hope to evaluate my Msc later in the year One and same person affidavit would help. WES made the same comment on my evaluation report because I had a different surname. On a closer look at my credentials, I discovered that my first and middle names were spelled differently on my birth certificate. I did one and same person affidavit to rectify all the errors. |

PORT OF ENTRY
You can legally cross the Canadian border at any Port of Entry with your Valid COPR and other documents. Canadian port of entry includes the following:
Port of Entry (Air)– Canadian Airports which are recognised as Port of entry are Vancouver International Airport, Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport and Montréal – Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. Port of Entry (Land)– Canadian Land port of entries are Niagara Falls – Rainbow Bridge, Windsor – Ambassador Bridge, Boundary Bay (BC), Chateaugay- Herdman Border (Quebec), Scobey – Coronach Border Crossing (Saskatchewan). Rail Crossing (Land) – Cross the border with the help of a train at Niagara Falls, Cantic (Quebec), White Rock. Port of Entry (Water) – Ferry crossings and seaports are considered water port of entry, like Prince Rupert (BC- Ferry), Yarmouth (Nova Scotia -Ferry), Belledune Port (New Brunswick – Sea), Sept- IIes Port (Quebec – Sea) and St. John’s Port (Sea).
What happens when you Enter from Port of Entry? STEP 1 At the port of entry when you enter, you will find a queue. Queue up in the newly immigrant section as it is different from the regular immigration section at most of the airports. The first thing is to make a declaration in front of a Machine, which will scan your passport and take a picture. Make sure you answer all the questions carefully (ask for assistance if you do not understand anything), declare any money above C$ 10,000.
Step 2 Once you are done with the first step mentioned above, you will have a printed slip, which you have to carry it along with you. You will next provide your documents to CBSA officer and tell him/her, that you are landing as a Permanent Resident and provide your Passport and COPR. The officer will ask some questions and some relevant documents. After the satisfaction of the CBSA officer, the COPR will be filed and stamped with the landing date mentioned on it (it is advised to cross-check the landing date). At this point of time you must provide an address in Canada, where you want your PR card to be delivered. If you do not have an address in Canada contact us.
Step 3 After this, you might be asked to visit the customs officer. At this point, you must carry Two copies of Personal affects accounting document(List of goods and their value accompanying) and a Personal affects accounting document (List of goods and their value which will come later). You might not be asked about these documents, but if you have goods like jewellery and expensive items which will be coming later, you must get these documents signed and stamped.
Step 4 At last, collect your baggage. Sometimes the above process will take 2-3 hours depending on your time and month of arrival, but do not worry. Your baggage is securely removed from the luggage belt and kept next to it.
Note
If you land during working hours, you might see an office of Service Canada. You should apply for your Social Insurance Number (SIN). This saves your settling time. Service Canada is generally located next to the CBSA officers’ section, but it varies from different Port of entries.
Once you are done with all these steps, you are welcome in Canada and you can start settling down. |

PopularGingo: soo I'd like to share my testimony regarding IELTS.
Last year I registered for the exam in may, I looked up sample questions and videos for listening, reading and speaking but totally ignored writing because confidence and the fact that I lived and schooled in the UK for 7 years. I went into the exam hall with the mindset that its just english and i've never had problems reading, writing or speaking. when results came out, I was humbled. I had LRWS - 7.5, 7.5, 6, 8. worst part i didn't know about EOR then so I focused on work and finding money to retake the test again.
In december, I made up my mind to retake the test in March. I struggled to get the funds and this time i started practicing all aspects and reading day and night using Liz, ieltsonline and ielts advantage. I focused on writing because i felt that was problem area, of course it didn't help that all my friends had failed writing too. Exam day came (23rd march), I wrote like my life depended on it recalling every point i had made in regards to getting at least a 7 for writing.
April 6th, result came out LRWS - 8.5, 7.5, 6.5, 7.5. I was weak, I mean i thought i wrote enough to get a 7. I made up my mind to remark, waited a week and paid the fee. this morning, i woke up thinking where i would find money to retake IELTS again. my mind was just focusing on the fact that it took long to get result meant it won't be changed. Lo and behold, this afternoon, while making my hair i got an email, writing has been upgraded to 7.5. i'm over the moon.
Moral of the story: if you believe in yourself that you've put in the effort and still get marked down especially in speaking and writing, please apply for EOR ASAP. Be confident in your abilities.
Sorry for long story o, I'm just excited and i thought everyone should here my story and hopefully i can encourage someone. Both exams were written with MOD Lagos imo, these examiners ought to be sued. How and why did they mark you down? |

iaatmguy: all those with PPR OR COPR as the case may be, please do not forget to get PTA ( personal travel allowance )from your bank. you are entitled to $3000-$4000 at official rate also start booking your ticket(s) as well for cheaper fares. the closer the date, the less chances of one getting a fair price. All the airlines' stop-over are usually similar, as there are no direct flights to Ca from Nigeria yet. Can I start booking my tickets too? Meds is yet to be passed. |

raphrulz: Thank you for reiterating my point in clearer details.
You see, the reason why people like Indians would always be more successful than us, is their free spirit to give back. They gladly give details and respond to even the most stupid questions i would cringe at. They are very welcoming and supportive. That's why I have not left their group even after getting PPR. I have even gotten to know most of them on a personal note. Great people.
But here.. when it's time to give back, that's when we remember its nobody's right... not compulsory. Why then did you ask on the group. You should have just researched on your own naa and not asked any questions.
Well, like I have said again and again, I will always be very appreciative of people that started this thread. I learnt more than 85% of what i know, used in my application and advise people, from this platform. It even spurred me to perform additional researches here and there.
We cannot all discount the fact that this thread has been invaluable... Well, social responsibility is not compulsory sha. I agree...an indian built an app recently, just to help others on this immigration journey. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by Adunnee: 1:36pm On Apr 26, 2019 |
ladymarshall: I wanted to say BULL... but I take it back, this is a peaceful thread and we don't want controversy. I respect your opinion sincerely but
@bolded 1, if this was the attitude those answering questions, sharing their experiences in-depth, assisting with IELTS/NOC etc, have had, I do not think this thread will exist and thrive as it has. If we tell everyone here "google is your friend", I do not think you would be here, there is something more you seek (of course besides the fact that nairaland thread is on google).
No one here asking for more depth to PPR stories feel entitled to anything. Active members are all making the same efforts as silent readers. PPR scripts does not feed us, put money in our pockets, give us more opportunities etc. In fact, we can do without the scripts. If it is about timelines, we can as well just stick to following immitracker (not forgetting the fact that people who share their procedural timelines on immitracker do it voluntarily, they do not owe us anything, yet they do it and it benefits us all).
Now do you know how many PPR stories on this thread have become reference points for future applications? Do you know how many follow-up questions and answers have emanated from PPR stories, assisting even non-followers of this thread? Do you know how many indepth PPR stories have helped confused applicants pre and post-AOR? For many questions regarding grey areas which are not specifically answered by IRCC, do you realise that some of the responses we give are just smart guesses and are based on indepth PPR stories which are a positive and successful validation of the process, documents, choices etc we make during EE application?
And yes, there are other sources of information but I can tell you having researched EE from different sources, that with the exception of CIC website in terms of authoritativeness, this thread provides one of the most diverse, indepth and accurate information on EE than any other source (part 1-7). And indepth PPR scripts contribute to that information. Infact one of the most unique benefits of this thread that you would not find on any other platform, is not the hard information, it is the feelings, struggles, fears, determination and victories of successful applicants like you and me which serve as inspiration and motivation and nothing captures this better than indepth PPR scripts. If indeed you want to show gratitude, help, motivate, inspire, encourage and uplift others after you, it is your public service responsibility to this thread to share your PPR story indepth. No one is forcing you, it's your choice as Ifeoma said. But if your heart moves you to share, please kindly do it indepth. Errrrrm....ma, pls ma, are you a lawyer? As in, are you a Barrister? |

dorothy0324: Hello Aunties and Uncles, I think I have shot my myself in the foot “again” #ifyouknowyouknow
While filling my EE profile I answered I had $13000CAD ( I still don’t know who sent me message) even when the required POF is $12669. I have a gift deed of about 3,750million from my father today. Problem: I have been using different exchange rates online and I have been getting different amounts (some higher than the POF I stated [13,000] while others are less than ) .
Can someone please suggest an acceptable exchange rate converter that I can use as evidence in my application. I plan on attaching a screenshot.
Thanks Hi, I used Oanda. |
