don’t waste money it won’t work I tried it when I once traveled to Canada I was refused based on immigration and purpose of stay in Canada now it’s so difficult trying to get study permit inside Canada you have to even submit the application outside Canada not inside

I am sorry it didnt work for you. We tried it. It worked, she got her PPR two days after AOR. We applied as though she was outside Canada (meaning we completed the forms that are for those applying from outside Canada) but used Canada residential address.

Hello everyone, when filling out the study permit application form, do I need to include application for my children (who are minors) with valid visitors' visa?

Since you are on a visitor Visa . You will need to leave Canada and re-enter if the application is approved.
Use the address of your home in Nigeria or country of residence.

Click on the link below to read for yourself.

I don't think this will fly.
Why apply for study permit on a visitor's visa in canada?
How will she proof hometie?
How will she show her status?
She is on a Visit visa haba!!
Let her visit and come back to Nigeria to apply which is her home of residence and which will aid her travel history while applying.

That application MIGHT be refused based on immigration status and might leave a bad record on her file for a next application.

She has maximum of 6months to stay in canada and she must not be out of status while waiting for a decision.

Thanks. We've read on IRCC website that she can apply got study permit from within Canada while she's on visitors visa. She only needs to follow the instructions of applying from outside Canada. Hence, the reason I asked those specific questions. She's aware of the rules and she does not intend to flout any of them.

Hello,
I have a few questions regarding the study visa:

1. Can an applicant currently living in Canada (Visitors visa) apply for study permit using the new IRCC link?

2. Would the applicant need to leave Canada and reenter through the border after the visa has been issued in order to get study permit?

3. Has anyone here applied for initial study permit from inside Canada? Please share information on how you packaged your application. I'm more concerned about how to answer the questions related to residence address, where are you applying from, etc.

Thank you.

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding IMM1294.

The applicant is currently in Canada with Visitors visa but originally from Nigeria. She's applying for study permit.
Questions 7 & 9 are confusing.

Question 7 is asking about Current Country or territory of Residence

Question 9 is asking about Country or territory where applying.

Is it right to have both answers as Canada?Thank you.

Landing Gist

So I booked British Airways flight for 30th of November. I had booked it since September, do the booking at MMIA so I paid in Naira at official rate.

Flight was for 11:45pm but I got to the airport around 4pm keeping with the advice given here to always arrive early.

First wahala was at the scanning machine at the entrance, they found my palm oil and said to take it out, that it won’t fly on BA, I didn’t argue I dropped it because I still had two more, which unfortunately ended up being trashed by BA just before departure (BA doesn’t allow frozen palm oil).

Agric people caught me this point and I had to dash them 2k, was hoping to escape it. After then I went weighed my luggage, had to shuffle some items between my carry-on and my checked in luggage before I was able to move ahead.

Showed the airline rep my passport, enrollment letter ArriveCAN, passenger locator form (mandatory for UK passage), vaccination card and COVID test. He confirmed the documents and gave me my boarding pass and yellow card to fill.

From there I moved to immigration, they collected my yellow card here, I was instructed to write my final destination address at the back of the card, Baba asked for tip I told him “nothing Dey” and they let me go.

Boarded the plane to London, the food was alright and we landed heathrow around 4am and that’s when I came online and saw the ban update sad

At 11:45 am we boarded the connecting flight, food was also good. After about 8hrs we were in Toronto. Used the machine to scan my passport and filled some information and a slip was printed out. Walked over to fort immigration check, the asked what food items I brought and I listed them asked if Toronto was my final stop, told him will be going to Saskatoon in January for school proper and I was directed to the place where I’d get my study permit.

Study permit didn’t take long, was only asked for the school I was attending and letter of admission which I submitted, it was checked and I was issued a study permit after which I was directed to public health for quarantine matters based on the new COVID update.

Anyways, I’m isolating now can’t wait for the result to be out so I can carry on with my life.

Sleep don full my eyes

Congratulations. Did you need any type of visa to travel through UK?

Hello seniors,
Do you think any discrimination exists against qualifications acquired outside the province, but within Canada?

Secondly, has anyone here taken a course/program with Robertson College, Manitoba or Centre for Distance Learning, Nova Scotia? Please I need reviews.

Thank you.

Family / Re: Why Children Of Strict Parents Turn Out To Be Worse by Adunnee: 4:36pm On May 25, 2020
FeliciaOja:
It is now I understand what being strict does, it makes you live a life of pretence, cos when I got into University I wanted to explore everything  I didn’t have the chance of doing at home.

I drank alcohol like crazy, smoked weed, hung out with rich boys, partying, doing drugs but when I go visit my Parents, I still act like that innocent girl they have always known.

My Dad’s strictness led to my Pretence, if he had drawn me close like my mum did, I would have been a better kid.

When parents use strictness to shut down a kids curiosity instead of guiding them, you are making matters worse for that kid. Because eventually that curiosity will lead them into adventures and exploring all those things you refused them to..

Looking back, al the flogging I received from my dad only made me more stubborn and ruthless.

Nothing really changed? Until my mum made me change for good.

Parents need to use wisdom not force..

You were irresponsible. You destroyed your parent's trust. It is your life, not your parent's.

Please advise.

Do I pay tax on income generated from remote job if the company is based in Nigeria and I reside in Canada?

If the company deducts tax before payment in Nigeria, am I supposed to pay another tax on the same income as a resident in Canada?

Thank you.

Good morning to my fellow seekers of greener pastures.

To our seniors and everyone in the house, I have a challenge with regards to my ECA application and I need advice on this.
I got married in 2016 and swore to an affidavit of change of name together with my marriage certificate. I didn't change my name until first week of April, 2020 when I did publication in the newspaper. However, I tried obtaining my passport afterwards but was told that I have to change my name with NIMC first but NIMC has not been working.
Now, I want to know whether I can use my maiden name to process my ECA and subsequent applications for PR while having disregard for the publication and affidavit. This is to hasten the process as I heard that ECA takes time. I intend using IQAS as I read on this platform that it is the best for my profession.
I need all the advice I can get. kindly assist.
Thank you all.

@Kekereekun

@ednut

You can process your application with your maiden name since you have a marriage certificate. Note, your passport should bear your maiden name.

Romance / Re: I'm Dating HIV Positive Lady & She Is Pregnant. Advice Needed by Adunnee: 5:03pm On May 12, 2020
Crazeman03:
Hello Nairalanders, Hope you guys are staying Safe. Please don't mind my writing, I will make it short as possible.

I met this wonderful lady Last year and everything has been going good until 7 months ago when she told me she was Hiv+. That hit me hard but that didn't change anything, she was surprised I didnt react and opening up to me didn't scare me because I'm negative though we haven't had sex yet before the moment.

Now it has been 4 months we've been having unprotected sex. I'm not afraid of contracting the virus, as she keeps taking med and her viral load is low. I made sure before we went for test before having unprotected sex. Her CD4 count is above 750 and viral load is below 20, which makes hiv undetectable in her.

Now one night around 3months ago, she woke me up in the middle of the night to ask me, why do I love her knowing fully well about her status because she could not believe she will ever have a relationship with someone negative not even in this Nigeria by the way they stigmatize hiv+ people. I told her the reason and I'm not afraid hiv is not the worse or the baddest of diseases. There are more killer diseases than HIV and HIV is not a diseases but a virus. Only attack your immune system and its no longer a deadly virus.

The problem I have now is that whenever I imagine myself having it and how I will popping drugs everyday, make me kinda moody towards her, because I always keep telling her to always take her drugs. Last night she discovered she is pregnant and I'm just imagining things how everything will play out, I know when she will put to bed she won't be able to breastfeed. People will ask questions. I really need to tell someone in my family but I don't know who. My mom my react and the other person I trust is my younger sister.

On her own part, only her elder sister and brother knew she has the virus. And she had it since 2007.

I only need an advice if I need to tell any member of my family, looking to settle down with her this October.

Kudos to you for not discriminating against her despite her status. That said, it is not only HIV positive women that do not breastfeed their children. You and your fiancee should be one. Keep your secrets. Protect her. Your family members do not need to know. The only person who needs to know is her doctor so she can be managed properly during pregnancy. If both of you can afford it, let her have her child outside the country. Otherwise, tell your mum or anyone asking that she can't breastfeed because the doctor advised against it for reasons best known to both of you. I believe you can manage the situation properly if you are truly committed to the relationship. It is well.

Family / Re: What Comes With Marrying The Breadwinner Of A Family? by Adunnee: 6:40pm On Apr 19, 2020
VivleBriella:
Good day everyone

I've been a guest for a couple of years now, created an account to seek advice

My dear nairalanders, does it always end well marrying the Breadwinner of a family? He's the last born with 4 elder siblings but they all depend on him.

Yes, I knew he was the Breadwinner from day one but I thought with time, everyone else will be able to stand on their own, but it hasn't happened yet, we've dated for 3yrs now and he doesn't support me financially. I don't complain but he feels entitled to my money and when I get tired of him always asking me to lend him some money and decide to say no, he nags and tells me I'm not being supportive enough.

This is driving me really crazy cause he reminded me of how unsupportive I've been to him and his family, he's driving me insane, you can't possibly put the responsibility of your family on my shoulders, that's crazy and insensitive, over the years, I've borrowed him nothing less than 500k which I know for sure he's never giving back.

Is it normal to be in a parasitic relationship whereby the female remains the host that's being fed on?

I'm only 24 while he's 31.

You're not married and he's stressing you this much. My sister, think am o!

A man is at his best during courtship. He wont get better after marriage.
