Cashmadam: Honestly, I don't know the current situation. In the past (due to child trafficking issues), a minor must apply for visa with the adult he/she intends to travel with. On the child's visa form, the passport number of at most two adults must be included. The passport number of the adult(s) will then be endorsed on the child's visa. That was my experience with my children till they became adults.
I'm not sure how it's done in the last 5 years or so. Thank you, I’m guessing it might have changed cause I got this information from gov.uk (see attached images) But either way I will give the application a try and share the result.

crackcrack: I don’t see why not. Your sister’s application would be considered on its own merits and based on her own circumstances. As I’m sure you know, it’s not so much about the sponsor — what matters most is the individual who’s applying for the visa.
I did something a little bit similar to what you’re planning. I applied for my visa and got it. Two weeks later, I fully sponsored my mother’s application and provided the exact same bank statement I submitted for my own application. But I also submitted documents that painted my mother’s own circumstances in Nigeria to show why she won’t be running away to the UK. Her visa was also granted. Oh that’s great Thank you for sharing, I would submit all the necessary documents |

Adunnishugar: Hello house Please we recently submitted a visit visa application for my mother in law. How ever we just realised we mistakenly excluded our tenancy agreement which was meant to be the accommodation proof. So in the accommodation segment of the document upload there was nothing there.
However in the invitation letter we stated that she will be residing at our home, and we put our address there. This is also the same address on our joint bank statement which we uploaded as Proof of funds.
Please do you think this is enough to make up for the mistake made ? Visit visa approved for my mother in law Standard application Biometrics: 10th April Decision received: 24th April Collected: next day My question now is. Please is it okay to apply for a visa for my younger sister just few weeks after my Mother in laws’s application. I will be sponsoring my sister and using the same account for POF. Their trip would not be clashing. My sister would arrive after my MIL has returned |

Cashmadam: I'm not sure a minor can travel alone. In those days, a minor must travel with an adult - the adult's passport number would be endorsed on the minors UK visa. I'm not sure how it works these days as my children are now adults. Perharps others can help.
And yes, her parents and school can serve as ties to Nigeria. Thank you for responding I will confirm this with the airline before booking Or please does this mean her visa won’t be approved cause I intend for her to travel alone |

Hello all, I reside in uk and would like to invite my little sister to come visit me during the summer holidays. She is 15 year old and I plan for her to travel alone. I’m fully sponsoring her trip.
Please what documents would I need that would be different from an adult’s application ?
Would a letter from school and her(my) parents who reside in Nigeria be enough for home ties ?
please anyone that has done a similar application kindly share
Thank you |

Cashmadam: I will not advise you to apply for them so soon. Let your Mum visit and come back. Ensure she does not stay for too long in the UK. You can then reapply for three of them again and hopefully, they will all get the visa. Thank you so much, i appreciate your response. Just to clarify, are you saying i should wait for my mums visa to expire(February) before reapplying for all three of them together? Or I should wait for my mum to go and return from her first visit then apply for just my dad and sister while my mum will still have some months left on her visa. Lastly, either way if I’m not able to sponsor them at the time of their application can my elder sister who resides in the US sponsor their trip? |

Hello everyone, (please this a lengthy read) Although I’ve been a bit silent here, but thanks to this thread I got a lot of information to apply for my mum to come help me with childbirth and she was granted her visa last week, after one refusal for my graduation last year.
She applied as self employed but myself and my sister in the us sponsored her trip.
Please I have some new questions though. As I mentioned, last year my mum, dad and little sister applied to come for my graduation and they were all refused. Now I’m about to give birth and I decided to apply for only my mum as I thought it would be more straightforward and also because their previous refusal was based on my dad’s application. Now that my mum has been given her six months visa I want to start planning reapplying for my dad and little sister. I’m thinking of planning their visit for sometime in December. My questions now are;
1) I’m thinking of putting in their application for September ending. Will it be a red flag because I just applied for my mum in July?
2) my dad applied as self employed last year but they used an agent against my wishes. The agent really messed up his application. Now I plan on reapplying for him myself as retired, as his business has not been doing too well in the past year, he has been receiving allowance from my sis and I every month of a total of 400k
Please what documents will I need to proof that he is retired. And is it fishy that he suddenly retired within a short time frame?
3) when my mum applied she had her business, property, my dad and lil sis as home ties, but if I’m applying for both my dad and little sister they would only have property (for my dad) and schooling(for my sis) as home ties. Specially because my mum still has an active visa.
For more context My dad was denied last year because his business was not active on CAC, also his business and savings accounts were a mess.
Lastly, the reason I feel the need to apply for my dad and sis this soon is because the proof of fund I used for my mum last month is still in my account but I would have need for it by October, and I won’t be able to build my account again for a long while.
Please I would appreciate any advice from experienced people on this thread and maybe others in similar situations can also learn from answers given, thank you |

itzhanie001: Silent follower of the thread. Goes to show this visit visa thing one size cannot fit all situation at all. What one person will do and get the visa another will find it is the main reason they were not given I could not follow some of the advice given here due to a situation that arose near application time that we could not get mum's bank statement after we had kept it clean for months. Applied for mum as unemployed instead of petty trader and without attaching her bank statement and we got the visa. All the best to everyone waiting. Wow congratulations! dustydee: These things are not set in stone as somone on 100k salary could be granted a visa and someone on 1m may be denied. If you are using her salary as proof, make you you cover all bases just to be on the safe side e.g Payslips, perhaps showing income tax paid from a business account. If you are stating that she owns the business, perhaps include the income statement and tax documents. Again, it may be an overkill but up to you. For me, I like to keep mine simple, I just follow the guide for the visa category I am applying for and if I feel good, I might throw in one or two optionals. never been rejected. Okay noted thank you so much |

heroshark: The 1st rule of visa application is to tell the truth and not lie or fake anything. If she doesn't earn 800k then don't state it.
Even if she has 3m in her account, the caseworker will be looking to find the 800k salary on the bank statement. Well she doesn’t have a fixed salary, she’s self employed sometimes she make 800 and sometimes it could be more or less, but she wants to start paying her self a fixed salary (from her business account to savings) for the purpose of the visa application, so technically it’s not a lie. I just want to know how much salary would be reasonable considering that she’s planning to show a three months bank statement with a balance of 3 million. |

Viruses: If you are sponsoring a working class/business owner, the person needs to prove financial independence. She needs her account statement. The balance will depend on how much she states that she earns monthly/annually. It should be reflective.
How do you mean PoF? For bank statement you just need to show the recent balance so it could be one month. For payslips, 3 months is advisable.
Is there any reason why you would not like to present 3 months payslip? We can thrash it. Thank you, She was refused last year, in that application she used an agent that stated she earns 1.5m monthly, which I think is too much, can we reduce the figure for this application? Or must we use the same figures we gave last time? In this new application we are thinking of reducing her salary to about 800k as it makes more sense since her Account balance is about 3m. Hope this would not be an issue? For more context she own a bakery. No I don’t mind showing my three months payslip, I intend to show three months payslip along with my bank statement. |

Hello all, please I have a few urgent questions.
I want to invite my mum over as I would be giving birth in a few months, I am the one sponsoring her. I have been hearing different information on how many months POF is needed Some just said one month is okay, I was thinking of doing three months. Is that okay?
Secondly how much POF do I need to have in my account, is £5k okay?
Lastly, I’m sponsoring her but she also has a running business (a bakery) that we intend to use has home ties along with my dad and little sister being in Nigeria. Would she need to also show her account statement, if yes, how much should she have? |

NuCypher: I think you got the best advice already. You need to realise that your Canada challenges will not stop at just getting PR. If you are overwhelmed now and can't drive yourself farther to achieve your goals, then you need to ask yourself if you'll be ready to drive yourself even farther when you face the typical Canada challenges that people face on the daily being in Canada. Let's be honest, applying for PR, whether by learning French to improve your scores or doing a second master, is the easy part of this Canada PR journey. Being and living in Canada itself is not even that easy, forget all the paparazzi. How far will you push yourself to get your desired job? How far will you push yourself to save in an economy that just wants to continue taking from you? How far will you push yourself to bear the loneliness that comes with not seeing your family members you left back in Nigeria for months on end? That push you is what you need to start giving yourself now. I know people who have combined their jobs with learning French and increased their scores. They are often the ones best prepared for the challenges Canada offers. The ones who complain day and night are often the ones who got the PR on a platter and thought life should be easier from there. Thank you so much for the motivation and advice. Moved to the uk just two years ago and I’m a bit familiar with the challenges faced when relocating to a totally new country, as you pointed out. I was second thinking continuing with French because I thought by the time I would be fluent enough to pass the exams I would be closer to getting ILR here in UK. However, I would continue to give it my best, because Canada still seems like the better option to me, and french is looking like the only way. |

Hello house,
I need advice as I have almost gotten to the point of giving up on this Canadian PR. I and my husband are in the pool with me as the main applicant. We currently have a score of 472. But it seems like they won’t be calling that any time soon at this rate. I have tried to look into most PNP routes but we don’t fit into any as I don’t have any family in Canada, I don’t have tech experience either.
Is there anything I am over looking ? Is there another route we can consider for PR ? Please I need advice. My NOC is Administrative Assistant. I have considered learning French but I think it would take me too long as I am overwhelmed with al lot of other activities at the moment. |

Hello house Please I have a question regarding the category based draws
I am the main applicant but I don’t have experience in any of the required categories. Although my hubby has 6 months as a nurse aide. Must he be the main applicant for us to be called in the category draws? Or can I be the main applicant and we’ll get called based on his experience? I am asking because we have a higher score with me as the main applicant. |
