These things are not set in stone as somone on 100k salary could be granted a visa and someone on 1m may be denied. If you are using her salary as proof, make you you cover all bases just to be on the safe side e.g Payslips, perhaps showing income tax paid from a business account. If you are stating that she owns the business, perhaps include the income statement and tax documents. Again, it may be an overkill but up to you. For me, I like to keep mine simple, I just follow the guide for the visa category I am applying for and if I feel good, I might throw in one or two optionals. never been rejected.

Okay noted
thank you so much

The 1st rule of visa application is to tell the truth and not lie or fake anything. If she doesn't earn 800k then don't state it.

Even if she has 3m in her account, the caseworker will be looking to find the 800k salary on the bank statement.

Well she doesn’t have a fixed salary, she’s self employed sometimes she make 800 and sometimes it could be more or less, but she wants to start paying her self a fixed salary (from her business account to savings) for the purpose of the visa application, so technically it’s not a lie. I just want to know how much salary would be reasonable considering that she’s planning to show a three months bank statement with a balance of 3 million.

If you are sponsoring a working class/business owner, the person needs to prove financial independence. She needs her account statement. The balance will depend on how much she states that she earns monthly/annually. It should be reflective.

How do you mean PoF? For bank statement you just need to show the recent balance so it could be one month. For payslips, 3 months is advisable.

Is there any reason why you would not like to present 3 months payslip? We can thrash it.

Thank you,
She was refused last year, in that application she used an agent that stated she earns 1.5m monthly, which I think is too much, can we reduce the figure for this application? Or must we use the same figures we gave last time?

In this new application we are thinking of reducing her salary to about 800k as it makes more sense since her Account balance is about 3m.
Hope this would not be an issue?
For more context she own a bakery.

No I don’t mind showing my three months payslip, I intend to show three months payslip along with my bank statement.

Hello all, please I have a few urgent questions.

I want to invite my mum over as I would be giving birth in a few months, I am the one sponsoring her.
I have been hearing different information on how many months POF is needed
Some just said one month is okay, I was thinking of doing three months. Is that okay?

Secondly how much POF do I need to have in my account, is £5k okay?

Lastly, I’m sponsoring her but she also has a running business (a bakery) that we intend to use has home ties along with my dad and little sister being in Nigeria. Would she need to also show her account statement, if yes, how much should she have?

I think you got the best advice already. You need to realise that your Canada challenges will not stop at just getting PR. If you are overwhelmed now and can't drive yourself farther to achieve your goals, then you need to ask yourself if you'll be ready to drive yourself even farther when you face the typical Canada challenges that people face on the daily being in Canada. Let's be honest, applying for PR, whether by learning French to improve your scores or doing a second master, is the easy part of this Canada PR journey. Being and living in Canada itself is not even that easy, forget all the paparazzi. How far will you push yourself to get your desired job? How far will you push yourself to save in an economy that just wants to continue taking from you? How far will you push yourself to bear the loneliness that comes with not seeing your family members you left back in Nigeria for months on end? That push you is what you need to start giving yourself now. I know people who have combined their jobs with learning French and increased their scores. They are often the ones best prepared for the challenges Canada offers. The ones who complain day and night are often the ones who got the PR on a platter and thought life should be easier from there.

Thank you so much for the motivation and advice.
Moved to the uk just two years ago and I’m a bit familiar with the challenges faced when relocating to a totally new country, as you pointed out.
I was second thinking continuing with French because I thought by the time I would be fluent enough to pass the exams I would be closer to getting ILR here in UK.
However, I would continue to give it my best, because Canada still seems like the better option to me, and french is looking like the only way.

Hello house,

I need advice as I have almost gotten to the point of giving up on this Canadian PR.
I and my husband are in the pool with me as the main applicant. We currently have a score of 472. But it seems like they won’t be calling that any time soon at this rate. I have tried to look into most PNP routes but we don’t fit into any as I don’t have any family in Canada, I don’t have tech experience either.

Is there anything I am over looking ?
Is there another route we can consider for PR ?
Please I need advice. My NOC is Administrative Assistant.
I have considered learning French but I think it would take me too long as I am overwhelmed with al lot of other activities at the moment.

Hello house
Please I have a question regarding the category based draws

I am the main applicant but I don’t have experience in any of the required categories.
Although my hubby has 6 months as a nurse aide.
Must he be the main applicant for us to be called in the category draws?
Or can I be the main applicant and we’ll get called based on his experience?
I am asking because we have a higher score with me as the main applicant.

Please do health care and support workers stand a chance with this category based draw?
I saw “other assisting occupations in support of health services”
Does this include care workers/ support workers?

Ok. If he's having a tough time with cybersecurity. Can you look into software testing?

Another option is for him to do a short course and get an MLA job in the NHS. There are lots of other opportunities in the NHS but he needs to step in first.

Thank you so much.

Would tell him this, thank you for all the suggestions house🙏🏽

Hi there, I will advise giving IT Support Role a trial. It’s the easiest way to creep into IT. Cybersecurity is not always the stepping stone into IT for a newbie. So many free courses on Coursera for IT support (Google and IBM recommended) Follow Kelvin Apolinario on LinkedIn, he has loads of free hands on training. If you don’t mind paying, Jobskillshare is who I will recommend.

Thank you 🙏🏽
We would look into these too.

While trying to figure what to do, he can try customer service jobs instead.

Regarding career, he is the best to decide what he wants to do. I would have suggested IT but you said he has tried Cybersecurity but didn't enjoy it. What about going into Rail industry? He would have to do training and get PTS/others. I know there is a lot of money and jobs in the Rail industry.

Hmn thanks
I will tell him to look into the rail industry, we haven’t thought of that.
Please, are there opportunities for new immigrants there?

Some more information about your husband's background would help better match him to a career he might enjoy and be good at...

Did he practise and enjoy marine engineering in Nigeria? What was his occupation?

What about other engineering fields? Is he hands on/ technical?

What are his interests? Financial markets, trading, construction etc?

Is he a people person, outgoing etc - would customer service or project management type roles appeal?

Is he good at Maths, Science - would he enjoy teaching?

Would he be open to an entry level role to enable him gain experience in the field he chooses?

Thank you 😊
Yes I think he enjoyed studying and working as a marine engineer. But he only worked for two years after his OND and life happened so he didn’t go back to finish the HND. This was over ten years ago. And before we relocated he was into real estate and other side businesses. He didn’t have an office job for over 10 years.

He doesn’t mind going back into marine engineering but he will need a degree.
He is also open to other engineering fields.

No 1. And No 2. contradict each other if you say you they are fully funding then want to transfer 1.5m to them to assist.Pick a struggle.

No 3.Your first visa is valid for 6months so if you intend to stay for a week then decide to stay more you are still within the conditions as your visa is still valid.

No 4.Is a personal decision.

No 5.It would not be a red flag to use book on arrival but your bank statement has to show you can afford the amount.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response

1&2) we are not saying that they are fully funding the trip we are saying that the money for all expenses is in my dads account including the one we’ve sent to assist. So do I still need to send my own bank statement in that case?

Hello house please my parents and little sister (14 years) will be coming for my graduation in July. We are hoping to apply this week but I have a few questions.

1) if they are saying they will be paying for all their expenses from their account would I still need to show my own statement of account?
2) my elder sis and I want to make a transfer of 1.5m to my dads account this week to assist with the travelling expenses. Would this be a red flag cause of the lump sum?
3) they want to apply stating that they will be staying for 1 week (to reduce the amount of POF needed) but after getting the visa can they extend their stay to two weeks?
4) my mum and my dad plan to stay in an hotel because my apartment is a one bed and I’m married. so my little sis can’t stay in the same hotel room with them. Can I say she would be staying with me in my apartment?
5) lastly I booked their hotel as “book now pay on arrival” and this shows on the booking confirmation. Hope it won’t be a red flag too?

I know it’s a lot of questions but I’ll appreciate any advice I can get please

Please I’m looking out for any advice on this

3. I believe it shouldn't be an issue based on my own experience. My mother inlaw came, some plans changed, and we needed to extend her stay. This didn't affect future application.

4. Write a letter of invitation to say your parents will be staying in hotel but your younger sis will stay with you. Include it in your younger sis application as well. Make sure you attach your prove of accommodation too. When I was living in a studio flat, I did this with my mother in law's application and she was granted. I submitted the tenancy agreement.

Please note these are my own personal experiences..thanks

Noted… Thank you very much

IRCC didn't explicitly ask for tax docs, although some self-employed provide as part of their app.

Why not indicate a job title that aligns with the duties and is easily understood by all. NYSC isn't a job title IMO. The duties matching your NOC is the most important thing.

Hello House,

Please I’m considering using my NYSC as my one year experience. But my confusion is what to put as my job tittle on the reference letter
Should I ask my employer to put NYSC Corper? As this was what they wrote on my offer letter

Although I’m using the NOC for Human Resource Administrator and this aligns best with my job description.

I also want to use job owner for the other two years of experience as I own a registered make up business. I used to me a make up artist in Nigeria before moving to the UK. It’s been registered since 2918 but I don’t have any tax documents.
I’m also not so sure about how to go about the reference letter for this. And it was a side hustle cause I was first studying and later working 9-5 while also running the business.
I have chats with clients and some payment I can prove but I don’t have a business account.
Is it safe to use this ?

Please any advice on this 🙏🏽
