Please I will appreciate any advice on this 🙏🏽 I want to know whether to dispute the notice period or just accept it. Bearing in mind that I won’t be able to switch jobs within that 5 years with that long notice period Adunnishugar: |

Hello house, (long read, please bear with me) I need some advice on this pls. I just switched to a skilled worker visa as a support worker. It took quite a lot of consideration before deciding to take the sponsorship offer because I did not want to take the 5 year gap from my desired career (Human Resources). I later decided to take up the job with the hope that I will keep searching for my desired job and switch sponsors if I am successful. So few weeks ago my new BRP arrived and now I have been sent the employment contract to sign. The problem now is that the contract has a 6 months notice period. The funniest part is that during my 6 months probation I still have to give 6 months notice while they can dismiss me with one week notice during this probation period. I have searched online and there is no maximum notice period required from an employer. But reasonable notice periods should be between 1-3 months. Longer notice periods should have justified reasons (which they don’t have) I’m an worried that I would not be able to secure another job with this notice period and I am also concerned about whether there will be any consequences if I try to dispute this factor (consequences such as them withdrawing sponsorship). Please I would appreciate any advice I can get on this🙏🏽 1 Like |

Hello All, Please I need some advice on this. My family will like to come attend my graduation ceremony in July. I finished my MSc in January and just switched to a skilled worker visa. My mum, dad and little sis(13 years) will be coming from Nigeria. While my elder sis will apply from US. My mum and sis are the only ones with a travel history outside Nigeria. I have the following questions please; 1) is there a limit to the number of family members I can invite. 2) Do they need proof of income/funds? 3) when should we start the visa application? Basically I would appreciate any form of information or advice I can be given regarding this. Especially from those who have done same process. Thank you so much. |

Profgordons: Thank you, We’ve explored all these options, education(masters), IELTS, Age etc. except French, cause I don’t have any knowledge there. It is well… will probably just wait to gather more work experience then. |

Hello house, Please I’m new to this thread as I just recently started considering moving from UK to Canada via the FSW. Please I have quite a few questions. So first, my major dilemma is this, my husband has a “sister” who is a Canadian Citizen. When he was very young his family fell on tough times and he went to live with her mum. She brought him up through most of his childhood and there are pictures to prove this. Only issue is there was no legal adoption done. But to me she is a mother to him in every sense of it. I even got to know her first before meeting his biological mother. So the thing now is his sister in Canada keeps insisting we should apply and claim that he has a sister who is a citizen (this will bring our points up to 470). I asked her how she plans for us to prove the relationship and she said it is not a big deal and can be done with a letter from her and childhood pictures. I did not want to keep disputing her on this but I really doubt that would be enough evidence. So my question now is, please is there any way we can officially prove they siblings? Or should we not claim the additional points? Also, If claim and if we don’t claim this, our CRS score will be 470 or 455 accordingly. Do we stand a chance of being given ITA this year? |

Hello house. Please my sis in law and husband applied for student visa with the hubby as the main applicant. Their application just reached 15 working days today Although yesterday they got an email with the following document attached saying their application is successful. This is unusual as they have not even received the collection email and I know they usually say they don’t send the result of your application online or via phone call. So why was that done in this case. Also now they don’t know when they will be called for passport collection and whether to go on and book their flight. Please see below the copy of email received. Has anyone received something similar to this before receiving collection email? 1 Like

Hello everyone Please can some one help with a direct link to gov.Uk where it is stated that students can switch to tier 2 visa without necessarily having to complete their studies? I know this is the case but my company’s HR is saying they cannot issue my COS until I graduate, I want to challenge them to confirm if this is their personal decision or if they assume this is the law. To do this I need proof from the government website which I have not been able to find. I am also confused as to whether to challenge this since I’ll be finishing Jan 6th next year either way so I might as well wait till then. But what if they decide to stop sponsoring by then or their slots finish? |

semmyk: Thank you, By term time I mean the period of time during my visa period when I’m actively participating in school activities (classes, projects, exams). I’m my case, my course started 4th January 2022 and will end 6th January 2023, but my visa won’t expire till 6th May 2023. So from 6th January- 6th May 2023 it is considered that I am not on term time and I can work full time |

Hello everyone. Please I have a question It quite a long read though… So, I am currently in the uk on a Tier 4 visa. I arrived January this year and I’m finishing my education January 5th next year, although I have from January 5th till May 5th 2023 when my visa expires to work full time because it off term time. I have been working as a support worker with a company for about 4 months now, but as a bank staff because I can only work 20 hours a week. Now the company has accepted to sponsor its current employees in need of tier 2 visa. But I was told they won’t be able to sponsor me because my visa limits me to working 20 hours a week. Please house, I need to confirm this from here. Because up till now I always assumed I could switch from a tier 4 visa to a tier 2 visa even during term time as long as I have a full time offer from a company willing to sponsor and it will state on the offer letter that I won’t start working full time until my tier 2 visa has been approved. Please am I wrong… also if anyone has been (or knows someone that has been) able to switch from tier 4 to tier 2 visa even during term time, please I would appreciate if you could share the process the company used. Thank you all |
