Why do they want Iwu to go when he delivered on his promise that election results would be announced at every single polling booth? This single act made it difficult for anyone to rig the election and Anambra state election came and did not result in fights or deaths as many people had feared. Now, Iwu has equally stated that future elections would have results announced at the polling booth. Is this not what we want? My fear is that we are usually carried away with emotions and fail to address to core issues. Amodu qualified Nigeria for 2002 world cup. He was removed and replaced by Onigbinde who recorded the worst performance by the Super Eagles in the world cup. Amodu was not around during the next qualifiers and Nigeria did not get to the world cup. Amodu was called up again and in spite of the difficulties he qualified Nigeria for the world cup and he has been replaced again while bringing in a foreigner that failed to qualify his own country for the world cup and signed a 5 months contract. Who do we really want in Nigeria? Results or unnecessary sentiments that lead to more disappointments? If Iwu is removed today and a new person comes in and the person conducts a major election and we have mistakes and rigging don't you think that Nigerians will make excuses for that person citing newness to job as reason? Sometimes I wonder if we really know what we want in this country. Conducting elections and announcing the results after counting them right there at the polling booth is the surest way to put an end to election rigging. If this man has promised to do just that then I prefer him to any new person that may come to experiment and probably fail to deliver like the Amodu case. |
doyin13:Here is a true Muslim in words and in deeds. I have full respects for this man. I hope others in position of authorities regardless of religion would be bold enough to do what is right in spite of the circumstances. |
Nigeria is not yet a nation and as such anything that will be done to keep it going (until we decide to break up) should be supported. Many had complained in the past that the North held on to power for such a long time even though the bulk of the time it was the military that brought the heads of state to power. The issue of rotational presidency was introduced to calm nerves and ensure that no single region will monopolize power and such an arrangement has thus far worked. The PDP with all its faults remain the most organized party with nationwide spread and real political structure on ground. In reality, opinions on forums do not amount to anything on the election day and as long as the opposition only makes noise when an election is around the corner PDP will remain a formidable party. Based on the above I agree with those that ask that the arrangement based on rotational presidency be respected because if it is not and for some reasons power returns to the North then it is possible to see another long period without any Southern presidency and any plan to change that using the law makers will most likely fail as the South will never get the required numbers to effect any changes. Forget about the Christian North voting to support the South because when the chips are down they will still swim with the rest of the Northern region irrespective of the problems in Jos today. While it may be fashionable to talk about dismissing rotational presidency today I hope we will not turn around to wonder what happened when the South begins to push for such in future because that may be the only guarantee to more representation at the highest level of governance. |
Donpuzo:Speaking from all sides of the mouth. You do not qualify to be impressed at my comments, such is the level I place you. |
And why would an 18 seater bus be carrying 42 pupils for an excursion? Is this not carelessness and greed? I won't be surprised if the proprietor was trying to save money because these pupils are usually asked to pay for such excursions so why can't the school provide adequate transportation. While we are quick to blame everyone but the organizers of the excursion we must realize that there are basic safety measures we can take to safeguard ourselves. An 18 seater bus would never have killed up to 1/2 of the people that died if they had respected the maximum number of people an 18 seater bus was designed to carry. Real pity the pupils could not say no to such treatment and more importantly parents should begin to look into the affairs of their children in schools. It is not just enough to brag about having kids in private schools or dropping them off in the morning and bringing them back in the evening that is if the school buses don't do that. We must begin to look at the WHY and not just the WHAT so as to avoid all avoidable problems. |
ronkeenuf:E be like say the poster don remove the entry. |
Donpuzo:As they say empty barrels make the most noise and poor people are usually the first to brag about being rich. I think I can afford to pay you 10 times whatever you end just to man the door for me, how about that? Your projects are substandard and even some of the ones you listed as yours were not developed by you. In my opinion, you are simply a scam artist looking for people to defraud and on discussion forums like this one your type will be exposed so as to protect unsuspecting public. |
Donpuzo:It is your father that is using multiple IDs on this forum not me. Of course, since your ignorance has been exposed on some threads you have resorted to all sorts of lies and gross display of stupidity. I am certainly not in any battle with you let alone supremacy one because it is crystal clear that you know very little about web development and the fact that this basic fact has been emphasized is the reason for your bitterness. It will effectively take you up to 10 years to know what I know let alone being able to develop serious applications with your attitude. @afam4eva, I suppose you ought to clarify issues here unless of course you are enjoying the misunderstand on this thread. |
inf8nity:You should have thought of that before making the silly remarks you made earlier. |
inf8nity:I am defending myself because the forum allows for uniqueness in user IDs that is why 2 people cannot use the same ID. It is not about what you consider ok, it is about what is right. And the person I addressed effectively made nonsense of your post by claiming I may have been using multiple IDs so in reality your comments are useless. |
Ghaddafi is 100% correct here. It was very wrong for Nigeria to hand over Charles Taylor for war crimes because he was betrayed by Nigeria who promised to host him if he would agree to leave Liberia to put an end to the war there. This is an issue that bothers on trust and credibility and one can only imagine what would happen if a similar scenario plays out where the head of state is being asked to leave the country for the sake of peace - obviously such a leader would cite the Taylor treatment and betrayal and would refuse which means that future mediations led by Nigeria will not be deemed serious or credible. Why must the West demand for the trial of African leaders and a few other leaders from outside Africa where as the powerful nations commit worse crimes and their presidents are never tried? Why is Bush not facing war crime charges in the Hague for the illegal invasion of Iraq based on lies that has led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands if not millions? Handing over Charles Taylor was wrong and unfortunate. This decision will hurt Nigeria the most as time goes on because we have basically told the world that we cannot be trusted to keep to our words. Instead of attacking Ghaddafi we should analyze his comments. The average Nigerian is not doing any better than the average Libyan and that is based on the people oriented projects and policies of this man. Good leadership is about the citizens being happy not about whether the White House of No 10 Downing Street approves of such leadership. |
Dual Core:It is amazing the type of nonsense that guy puts down here. I would have preferred to allow him to continue to ridicule himself with some of his comments but such comments will always rub off on the members of this board as outsiders may assume that we are all confused like him. |
Donpuzo:Is this your pathetic excuse for the mistake? It is a shame though not surprising because whenever you cut boasters and braggers to size they resort to all sorts of childish and stupid remarks to cover up their lack of knowledge. Welcome to reality. For the records I have a single user ID and will never register another no matter the circumstances. |
9jaganja:Excellent response! |
Donpuzo:Why don't you address your messages to the poster's username to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding? My username is afam and the poster's name is afam4eva. Note the difference. |
I think the reverse is the case because quite a number of Nigerians living outside Nigeria tend to insult and blame Nigerians living within Nigeria for the problems in Nigeria while claiming that these things happen because they are allowing them to happen. So, you need to look at the problem without sentiments for you to address it properly. A lot of threads have been put up to complain about the unnecessary insults in the past, maybe you never saw any of them. While I am against any form of insult either direction it is important to note that those living outside Nigeria started the unwarranted insults and naturally those living in Nigeria reacted or over reacted. And it seems that many Nigerians living outside Nigeria enjoy reading about negative stories in Nigeria and would be quick to water down any positive development. This results in questioning the rational for such position. |
Kobojunkie:I agree with this completely, the same way we criticize Iwu is the same way we should commend him for a job well done unless we are just hypocrites. |

I refused to become a pioneer registrar when NIRA asked me to because I understand what they see .ng domain names to mean - avenue to make money even if service delivery is horrible. Simply register a .com domain name and move on. I don't see why you should even negotiate with them at all, it doesn't make any sense. This sort of thing happens offline too. I started with www.lagosetores.com as a domain name and when I wanted to register the name with CAC I was informed by my lawyer that someone had reserved the name and that Lagos State sees the name as one that benefits from the name of the State. When asked what next to do I asked him not to bother as I was going to drop the name and even drop the domain name. That same day I registered www.justwebservices.com and after updating the information on business cards, contacts everything became normal again. It is not about the name, it is about the quality of service. Who would have thought that names like amazon, google, yahoo, facebook etc would have been linked with successful online businesses? Drop the name, move on and focus on your business and when the registrant does not see anyone negotiating for reduction they will face reality and sit up. Normally there are always restricted names but it is the duty of NIRA and/or the registrants to ensure that no one is allowed to register such names without knowing the cost or without paying the fee. It is wrong to inform clients after they must have registered such names that they must part with thousands of naira to keep such names. Good luck. |
OYB_MEND:Why a Yoruba man from Kwara as FCT Minister? |
The killing of any innocent person is wrong regardless of who is doing the killing from terrorist groups to state sponsored terrorists. Every single innocent soul wasted cries for justice and such cries will always be heard by God. By killing innocent person(s) MEND got it wrong this time. |
Bidza Moyo:I don't have to be the developer of the website to comment on it the way I did. Reviews and insults are not the same and that is what you must understand. Unfortunately, a lot of us don't understand the difference. Point out what is wrong with the website - that is the essence of a review not insulting the developer and ridiculing his work. The funny thing is that those who are quick to insult other developers usually have badly setup or sub standard websites and when you point that out they begin to create excuses. |
ndu_chucks:Interesting. Until the rumor is sorted out sha because for dis our country de rate wey rumor dey take get legs, wings and even belle dey too much. How come the rumor identify where hin mama come and not where hin papa come? Naija! |
Kay 17:What is the minimum age stated for people wanting to sign up on this forum again? |
ndu_chucks:Where is he from? Don't tell me he is Igbo oooo. |
agabaI23:Considering the level of misinformation and lies out there I believe it makes perfect sense for the younger generation to read and understand these things. If you don't know where you are coming from then most likely you will not know where you are going to. In terms of numbers how many people have they killed in Jos? Over 30,000 Easterners were massacred by their neighbors, friends, business partners, colleagues etc and you want such information to be hidden? No. |
ndu_chucks:Christians don't murder Christians. Katsumoto:It seems the Northern Minority (Middle Belt) are cool when it comes to North vs South politics but right now they seem to be at the receiving end of unnecessary killings and they are now drawing a line. To think that the major players in 1966 from Danjuma to Gowon are from the same area that is the subject of Hausa/Fulani attack based on land/religion makes the whole think look like nemesis. |
ndu_chucks:It is either you are way too smart and the rest of us are insane for us not to see your point or you are the insane one with the rest pointing out your comments that don't make any sense. Given the facts on ground I think the latter is more like it. I am glad that you are dancing naked on this thread for the world to see you for who you really are and what you really represent. |
trueword:EFCC has always been serious to jail him but the corrupt judges would not let the man go to jail. It is not the job of the EFCC to jail anyone. |
