@ OP the first part is not true but the part that we cannot be Christians without the Holy Spirit is true. Jesus never thought that speaking in tongues is the requisite for holiness. let us remember, yes, we cannot do any good without the Spirit but it does never say that having the gift of tongue can save you. why was the gift of the Holy Spirit given to the apostles? It because the gospel had to be preached to all nations around the world! what we really need is Faith, Hope and Charity, and charity is the highest. without Charity praying of tongues will never take you to heaven! |
