The difference is that women are not paying for the sex. That's the point. Sex for women is like air, it's everywhere. Even mad women de collect, talk more of a normal woman.

Although the female version for involuntary celibacy would be what I described as "involuntary homelessness". It's a term I made up sha. grin

It's the desire and despiration to get married and move into a man's house, but for where? Aunty wait outside, no space.

Same way you'll see men in brothels to cure their sexlessness, for women it's church, and for the fetish ones, babalawo shrine.
Good day to you, Pansophist.
Please I sent you mails some days ago. I’ll appreciate if you can check them.

Fashion / Is It True Dark Skinned Girls Feel Insecure About Their Complexion? by afonjabreed(m): 7:37pm On May 12, 2022
Growing up as a young man, I’ve had encounter with different guys with different skin tone. As guys, We pick on and tease the dark skinned guys in our clique because of their complexion, and we all laugh about it. Guys don’t read meaning to this issue.
Lately, I saw a post about a lady feeling insecure about her complexion and this sparked a question within me, so i am here to seek answers.
Do dark skinned ladies feel insecure about their complexion?
Do they think it puts them at the rear, compared to their fair skinned counterparts when it comes to making male friends?

Investment / Why Do People Go Broke After Winning Huge Amount Of Money by afonjabreed(m): 11:08am On May 09, 2022
I have witnessed this first hand, I had a friend who made a huge amount of money, though illegally but went broke within months.
I have also heard of some situations where a bet or lottery winner goes back to his broke state within a short period of time.

Why do they go broke so fast?
These people get big money, millions as proceeds and they go broke within months.

Nairaland / General / Re: How Did You Get Past The Worries Of Your Twenties? by afonjabreed(m): 8:20am On Apr 28, 2022
civboy:
I am in my 20s too and yes, it is really hard and I have a lot of worries, bad news, burdens, stress and chaos in my life to manage. But let me share what helps me stay afloat, as it comes to mind, with no particular order:
- cut out everything that drains your time, energy and money but doesn't improve your life. If it costs you time, money or energy and after you are done, you don't have more money or at least a feeling of happiness or rest, then it shouldn't be in your life. For me, I had to cut out porn, masturbation, flirting, hookups, some people, eating too much, spending too much time on social media, debating with people who aren't rational and a bunch of bad habits like sleeping late, etc... Of course, sometimes you will desire these things, but find pleasures that benefit you better like intense sport or reading things that interest you. Some things, you can do without them so just cut them out, TV, netflix, instagram, watching soccer and whatever, celebrity news and gossips, etc... I often see it wasting the time of many friends and mates.
- don't waste time thinking that you have to find your "calling", destiny or stuff like this, or even the will of God for your life if you are religious. Ask a lot of successful or old people, you will see that none of them succeeded by looking for that kind of things. They all started by doing excellently what was in front of them, and looking for important things to do or learn, and opportunities to seize, and then harwork, excellence and a lot of luck brought them to success. So get out of your head, stop making plan after plan, start practically looking for the best things you can do right now and get busy doing them, and if you keep doing the best things excellently, and if luck comes your way (don't worry since you cannot control that part), then eventually you will succeed.
- when you get bad news or a problem pops up in your life, give yourself time to digest your emotions first, maybe a whole afternoon, an entire day or a week. And then when the time to cry and complain is over, sit down and start looking for solutions and help. Think and do, think and do again, think and do again, never think a lot to never do anything and never rush to do whatever without thinking first, do both and be brave to accept whatever result life will give you. Do your best and accept the rest; that's the only thing you can do, learn to be okay with that.
- prioritize money; as you grow older, you will have time to figure out religion, healthcare, relationships, intellectual interests, politics, your mission on earth, your hobbies and whatever but start with money, dedicate 8 to 12 hours everyday for hustle, a fourth of the time to learn about making and securing money and the three fourths to actually work and make money. If you are financially stable in your 30s, you will see that everything else will fall into place more easily. We grew in a culture where money was a taboo and we weren't taught how important it is.
I have been living by these principles for some time and it makes a great difference. Worries decrease when you are not sabotaging your own life, when you are busy trying to progress and when you allow a time to grieve for your problems and then focus on tackling them and learn to accept the results, knowing that you did your part.
Thanks for this lengthy write up.
I gained a lot. Thank you.

WoundedLamb:

Anxiety at certain stages of our lives is normal.

After graduation, the fear of being poor arises. This comes with the pressure to succeed in life. While it's a very uncomfortable period in our lives, it's normal, and the truth is, people naturally outgrow it. I know it's tempting to sound like motivational speakers and tell you we did this or that, but like I said, it's a phase you'd naturally pass if/when you get busy. All you need is a sense of "doing". You need to convince yourself you're doing your best (or start doing your best if you aren't already). In my opinion, having a plan and ensuring whatever you're doing at the moment leads to the success of that plan is the best way to quickly get out of this phase. It only sticks with those who end up not having any job that gives them that sense of "doing" and it easily turns into depression for such people.

This anxiety happens to the best (in fact, it's more common in ambitious people). So I suggest you embrace it and use it as a source of motivation. You'll experience something similar if not worse towards the age of 45 when you start comparing your life so far with what you wanted it to be. It is called mid-life crises, and whatever you do with this early-life anxiety will have an impact on how severe that one will be.

You seem like a focused person, and I have no doubts you'll succeed in life. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for this.
I really appreciate these words.

I’m in my early twenties and it turns out I’ll be a year older very soon, I’ve barely had my sanity in one piece. I’m always thinking, worrying.
I know the twenties is an important, even the most vital stage in the formation of the type of shape a human future will take.
The thought of the future alone makes me keep to myself sometimes, because I’m always thinking, planning, re-strategising, simulating the future in my head every minute.

To be very honest, Adulthood is not easy.

Question to folks in their thirties and beyond...
How did you get past the worries of your twenties?
Or does the worries keep getting bigger ?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: What Does Working Hard Actually Mean To You? by afonjabreed(m): 12:40pm On Apr 13, 2022
Hardworking, to me encompasses diligence, energy, commitment. Who told you she doesn’t have time for herself ?
Maybe because she doesn’t have much to show for it.
You are getting this thing wrong, Being hardworking doesn’t guarantee riches, although it is a very important requirement to acquire riches. Elon musk is a hard worker, even Bill gates was reported to have slept under his work desk at work.

Everyone you see at the top today are hard workers, they won’t just tell you about their humble days.
Don’t believe the term “work smart”, it is usually used by shady people who can’t even account for their source of wealth.
Nothing worthwhile is achieved under less pressure, you can only work smart if you’ve been a hard worker all along. That way you know different ways and different approaches to save time, energy and still get maximum output.
