Third class in Education is very poor. If you know that schooling wasn't in your line , you would have gone to apprentice in one of the professional careers like catering, tailoring. wasting four years is not a good thing.

Project management is a knowledge to acquire. sincerely, you will become a different person when you are done with it.

Prince 2 is a methodolgy commonly used in the UK. it will only teach you a method of managing project .If you have great zeal of going into project management and advancing into it, i wish you to go through Americam PMI project management , it's all encompassing. it's not discipline dependent, anybody can do it. if you ever follow the PM method and procedure to manage a project, your project will hardly fail.

The major problems ecountered in Project management which are Stakeholder identification, management has been fully dealt with in Edition four. for those of us that did edition 3, Try to revisit Edition 4, if you a PMI member , i am sure this book would have been sent you via Email.

i have a friend who is in IT , she did ITIL and she is preparing for PMP .
Reason been that she is tending towards IT management,  so if you are in IT and you want to move on to management, i think the two are needed

If you are a career person , look out for professional exam in your discipline and write the exam , it will take you minimum of two months for the preparation, on the process u will go for some training, you will meet some people in the study class, make them your friendas and reading partner, i assure you after the exam , you will have a long list of friends to talk to and guess what, they will be people of the same class, reasoning like you. it helped me

  My own case is just a replica of yours.
  Yours is even better that your guy is channelling his earnings to his  business which might even benefit you if you eventually get down with him. Mine is parctically not running any business, but i am so disconbobulated what he thinks about me. he has never taken me out to buy anything, if we  get into any restuarant on our way out , i will end up paying the bill, because he will always have this flemsy excuse that oh,  "it's weekend , i don't like taken money home and i forgot my ATM card at home."

ITIL , Information Technology Library is about Management of IT services , Incident management, Error Control (Error Identification & recording, solution investigation, Defining Solution) Configuration management , Change Management, and post implementations review ), it is a framework that defines a standard practise for providing IT services support and delivery.

while PRINCE 2 is a Project management methodology . it is a standard method for managing a project from project initiation, scope mgt, time mgt, quality, procurement, commuincation, risk mgt to the closing of the project, It has standard procedures, specific forms , to accomplish the project activities.

So basically ITIL and PRINCE 2 are not on the same Technology platform but are needed for IT project management.

For Nigeria., emphasis are layed on the two certifications in parrallel, if you intend to work with Telecomms, ITIL seems to be mostly needed certification and a knowlwdege of project management principle/methodology,

i can't answer this question without abusing you, how come you don't your girl friend's voice over the phone, after the first time i spoke to my guy , he could recognise my voice on the phone.

It is very difficult to advise you, you are trying to compare two parrallel jobs , lecturing and working in PZ. assume it were to be comparison btween lecturing in Uniben and UI or working in PZ or Nigeria breweries, then we will be able to advise. It's so painful that Nigeria factor and orientation has made people not to have a career line. It depends on what you want in Life, If you intend to become a Prof, then stay back in Uniben,,, but you know what that means , more work less money, you have to read everyday of your life, but you may end up like SOLUDO OR OKONJO IWUALA who knows. But when you start with PZ, so many things may happen , either you rise faster or slower, it also depends on the Nigeria factor and your foresight, Fear of the unknown, na waooooo, Pls follow your heart, but learn not regreet cause you might feel you have chosen the wrong path, But no path is wrong , it depends on what you wanna achieve and what you make out of life, No matter the advices you will get on this forum, you still have the final say .
