PoliticsRe: How Can We End Corruption In Nigeria: From Top To Bottom, Or Bottom To Top? by Africanson: 5:06pm On Jan 20, 2012
You have inflation and hyper-inflation, so also with corruption. Nigeria's corruption is no longer solvable because corruption itself have made it impossible. The person that could save Nigeria will NEVER have the opportunity to get to the top; courtesy corruption. Even if he can he would get corrupted before he get there. An HONEST man can never be the President of Nigeria. Why?. Because a society always get the leadership it deserves.

Without the kind of REVOLUTION you watch on TV in Example Egypt, e.t.c Nigeria is going nowhere. But this revolution will never happen unless we still had Lagos as capital.
But in 100 years though there may be no place called Nigeria unless there's a REVOLUTION. I' am sorry to tell you the truth.
BusinessRe: Does Fuel Subsidy Benefit The Average Nigerian? by Africanson: 7:36pm On Nov 30, 2011
The truth is nothing is being subsidized even now. The subsidy is a scam (also called 419)!!. The intention of our government is to always sell petroleum and products to Nigerians at the MAXIMUM price, that's why OBJ kept increasing petrol price everyday.

WebmastersRe: How Can A Website Get Over 1 Billion Page Views In 24 Hours? by Africanson: 11:00pm On Oct 19, 2011
@post.
You can't get 1 billion visitors per day because you don't have the resources to do so. Even if you were to get it, your website would have crashed by the time you have 10 million visitors. The website would be unopenable unless as they already suggested you host on say 100,000 dedicated servers which would cost you at least $100x$100,000 = $10 million per day. Start from thousands then see where you get
PoliticsRe: What Sector Should We Nigerians Be Proud Of? by Africanson(op): 12:33pm On Oct 07, 2010
@AjanleKoko

It's obvious you don't know the type of hard working uncomplaining person that I' am. I have gone through worst times far more than you have enumerated and if I should tell you my own life story it would dwarf whatever difficult experiences you have had. There's no need talking about it here cause the only enough room to talk about it would be to write a book about myself.

However, the topic I posted is not about you or me as individuals it's about we all Nigerians and Nigeria as a country.

Please, I'am not a failure or anything close. I was able to overcome and ever since I have never ventured into anything in my life that I failed, by Nigeria standard I' am a rich person.

Just because as you put it through luck and "divine intervention" you succeeded don't mean that should be the yard stick for millions of Nigerians. It musn't be through "divine intervention" for one to succeed. The enabling environment need be created by government for anybody who have the skills to go ahead and succeed not through "divine intervention".

Let me give you an example of what I' am talking about. Two years ago I founded a business and built a website for it, in the website I put my business address here in Lagos and phone number in Nigeria as my contacts. You know what??. Nobody wanted to pay for my services even though they needed it just because I was in Nigeria. The product I founded could revolutionalize business between Africa and the rest of the world. But to my suprise below is typical of the email message we receive.

"Good idea. Sorry but being based in Nigeria poses a huge problem for your marketability, world over".

It's a shame but (I actually copied the above comment directly from my inbox). Then I immediately removed my contacts and phone numbers from the website and response improved. I have many similar comments in my inbox. I cannot continue to encourage myself to stay here when I know if I travel overseas to establish this same business I would be in the league of facebook in terms of revenue.

I have cars & landed properties for sale anybody needing it please contact me. I would be leaving I' am not the type of person to say it unless I would do it.
PoliticsRe: What Sector Should We Nigerians Be Proud Of? by Africanson(op): 5:07pm On Oct 06, 2010
@AjanleKoko
I' am not a lazy person which is why I want to travel to a place where a hard working person like myself can gain his/her worth. As a Nigerian I' am on my own, the government have no structures in place to assist my development in any where.

Just look above and you can see the amount of persimism; that alone should tell you success woun't easily come your way in this type of a persimistic society.
PoliticsRe: What Sector Should We Nigerians Be Proud Of? by Africanson(op): 10:22am On Oct 06, 2010
@all
After going through your responses here I have concluded there's no need for me to keep living in this country. I have tried many times encouraging myself to stay in Nigeria even as I have a passport to leave Nigeria any day to most countries in the world without a visa.

The reason I will be leaving is quite simple. I have now found out for myself why there's a lot of crime in Nigeria. Reason is because the structures for legitimate success are not being laid down by our government to help those with the brain. I have now learnt why it's easier to get rich in Nigeria commiting crime. I' am not saying people don't make it here as well but it's like sucking water out of rock. I have to try my luck somewhere else overseas. I'am just in tears for Nigeria now.

I need to raise money so I would be selling my car; toyota 4 runner jeep 97/98 model. Anybody need it please contact me. I want to leave as soon as possible maybe within 3 weeks. Thanks.

Please I' am not joking.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Replies Okah: You Are A Drowning Man by Africanson: 6:35pm On Oct 05, 2010
@TewMuch
You are absolutely correct!!. I have been arguing along this line with beaf who seems bent on defending the president. When the bombings happened I watched it live on CNN and I was sympathising with the president when he absorbed MEND. But suddenly the incident got an interesting political twist into it
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Replies Okah: You Are A Drowning Man by Africanson: 6:27pm On Oct 05, 2010
@Beaf
I will wait for MEND in Nigeria themselves to deny not commiting these murders. At this point you should not believe what the president is saying neither should you MEND. With time the truth will be out there in the open for everybody to see. Any intelligent mind should by now know there's something smelling underground. There's nobody to believe at this point.

Sorry, but I met the tail end of Okah's interview on aljazeerah and he was speaking "onbehalf" of MEND
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Replies Okah: You Are A Drowning Man by Africanson: 5:47pm On Oct 05, 2010
The president have stated MEND did not commit this murders. So, why is he holding Okah responsible at the same time?. There must be something else going on here
PoliticsWhat Sector Should We Nigerians Be Proud Of? by Africanson(op): 5:30pm On Oct 05, 2010
Recently the president have said the 6-3-3-4 education system is a failure. As I read the reaction of people here on Nairaland it strucked me Nigeria is actually dying slowly as a nation. I totally feel depressed and sick after following that thread.

Now, my question is; is there any sector in Nigeria that is performing well?. From education, power sector (electicity), security , law & order, all government ministries & departments; e.t.c, e.t.c.

Is there any sector in this country that we as Nigerians should be proud of?.

There's something to celebrate but not much.
In some countries today you would not be allowed to have a forum like NAIRALAND where you can say your mind. In countries like Iran, Pakistan, Myamar, China you may as well have been detained for posting this comment.

If you don't know what to celebrate you can celebrate your freedom of internet use without government blockades.

Twitter and forums like this are blocked in Iran, facebook is blocked in Pakistan, google is blocked in China you can't even search anything about your government from google if you were to be a Chinese living in China. There are more,
PoliticsRe: Nigeria At 50: No Cause For Celebration — Soyinka by Africanson: 2:03pm On Sep 30, 2010
Dear Proff Soyinka.
There's something to celebrate but not much. The fact that you are still talking today and not in prison is something to celebrate. In some countries infact in past military Nigeria you may as well have ended up in jail for granting PM news the interview. You were detained already in the past so you should know what I' am talking about.

Now that you have registered your political party we are waiting to see your party rule Nigeria but I heard you want your party only based in a single region of the country. It that true?. Now how can you change Nigeria when you can't even contemplate a nationwide agenda?.
CultureRe: What Has Been Your Experience With Juju? by Africanson: 3:37pm On Sep 28, 2010
@DonOvero

It's a question of believe and not education. Both educated and non educated people beleive in jazz.

Juju exist but don't believe it as you would be dependent on it, the more you believe it the more it would work for you. It's the more you look the less you see just like every other believe example; believing in the bible, koran e.t.c

Anybody saying juju don't exist don't know facts.

For those of you saying whiteman this whiteman that be informed whiteman don't know everything so don't know a thing about African juju. Whiteman have no clue about juju because they believe anything not scientifically proven is not a fact. That's a BIG lie!!!
PoliticsRe: Can Jega Organize Free And Fair Elections? by Africanson: 4:02pm On Sep 23, 2010
No corrupt country in the world organizes a free and fair election. Until the appointment of the INEC chairman is voided and is based on voting the INEC chairman in in the first place.

Check out the list of most corrupt countries in the world and you would find out that the most corrupt countries (at the bottom) are also those with lots of troubles namely; organizing fraudulent elections, wars, insecurity, economic problems e.t.c. See below.

Transparency international's 2009 most corrupt countries in the world.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2009/nov/17/corruption-index-transparency-international

NB: Don't be a cynic. Register and on election day go and vote, that your own. The more people vote the more difficult it would be to rig the election.

I' am just glad that Nigerians do not support evil as all posts here shows.
PoliticsRe: Voter Registration Commences October by Africanson: 4:48pm On Sep 04, 2010
@alphabet43
It's clear you don't understand my post cause this is clear good plan to end voter fraud in Nigeria.

Listen.

It does not matter how many phone numbers you have because you can only register with one phone number PLUS your finger print. Of course all registrations have to be kept in a national database making it impossible for you to register twice. With the proposed system you can only register once and can only vote once with your phone number via SMS. Any telecom expert will understand this cause it's quite simple.
PoliticsRe: Voter Registration Commences October by Africanson: 11:52am On Sep 04, 2010
To totally avoid fraud come 2011 let every Nigerian register for the election with his or her GSM phone number. One phone number one vote.

Don't ask how about people registering with more than one phone because you would register with one phone number PLUS your finger print. Mr. Donald Duke have suggested this already. My company could engineer these things with ease.

For more information on what more you as an individual could do with your GSM phone go to http://www.080advertising.com

Even if the GSM operators can't adopt it you can still protect yourself by geting an anti-kidnapping phone. There's a company already offering anti-kidnapping facilities on your phone. Just go to 080 advertising, once on their website click on GSM codes. I got my own anti-kidnapping phone from them. Just tell them what function you want on your phone and they will put it for you. They can also provide you database lising of GSM numbers in Nigeria incase you want to advertise by SMS to millions of Nigerians. Their website is http://www.080advertising.com

PoliticsRe: Nup Endorses Fashola For Second Term ! by Africanson: 2:58pm On Aug 26, 2010
@bobokelly
Contrary to your view many will actually vote for Fashola because of all those reasons you gave. For example; I packed out of my house in Surulere because Fashola was working on our street and I could not enter my house, I used to pack my car in our negbouring street. I now live in Ikeja but I' am going to vote for Fashola come 2011. Why?. Beacuse irrespective of all the hardships caused us then, working on the road was the right decision by the government. Many streets used to flood back in the days after rainfall but I asked somebody and he told me the street no longer flood these days. Fashola is the best governor I have seen since I came to Lagos. He really have a plan for Lagos state and to carry out these plans don't require looking at anybody's face. Carry go Fashola!!.
