IslamMiraculous Appearance Of Image Of Dead Imam Attracts Crowd In Lagos by Afriface(op): 8:49am On Sep 07, 2013
Muslim faithful have continued to besiege a mosque, popularly called Alfa Shehu Mosque, at Owode-Onirin along Ikorodu road, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, where they claimed to have seen the apparitions of Sheik Ibrahim Niyyas, Sheik Hamad Tijhani and Shehu Bulala, on the walls of the mosque and neighbouring houses.

People were still trooping to the mosque today, four days after the apparitions purportedly appeared on the walls.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the images had appeared a few days before the Ramadan fasting period ended but the Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Shehu Nurudeen, had advised his children not to make the strange
discovery public because people may find it difficult to believe, until a man (name withheld), went there from Apapa area of Lagos State on Tuesday morning to confirm that he had a revelation about the incident.
The Imam’s son, Ibrahim Nurudeen, who spoke with our correspondent on behalf of his father, said that it was after the stranger’s visit that people started besieging the mosque to see the ‘wonders of God’ on the walls of the mosque.

“When we were about rounding off the fast, my dad saw the image on the wall inside the mosque but he warned us against publicising it because people may not believe. We were however surprised on Tuesday morning when a man whom we had not seen before, came around to say that he got a revelation about Sheik Niyyas, Tijhani and Bulala, appearing on the wall.

“Before we could address the issue, people had started trooping in from various parts of the country to see what was happening here. My dad had to leave the house since people started coming to confirm for themselves. I’m not surprised at the way people have been coming because those people who appeared on the walls are our legends in Islam,” he said.

Another Islamic cleric, Jamiu Afeez, stated that the images were looking so real at the initial stage of appearance but people trying to touch the walls made them to disappear.

He also explained that they had a torrid time controlling the crowd at the mosque who came to catch a glimpse of the images.

The young cleric further stated that people had been there from Offa, Ilorin and some parts of the country to confirm the incident.

“The images were looking so real initially but the more people touched them, the more they disappeared. We had to call mobile policemen and soldiers to help us control the crowd here yesterday because people have not stopped coming.

“We have been praying here since that Tuesday morning, day and night because it is a revelation from God and a clear indication that our prayers have been answered. The more we prayed, the more the Sheiks appeared. People have come in from Ilorin, Offa and other parts of the country to see for themselves,” he explained.

One of the Muslims who spoke with P.M.NEWS, said that a Christian neighbour also saw it on the wall and called the Imam’s attention to it, a scenario she believed is a clear indication that God is one. The woman clad in a hijab, also said that it portrayed the height of God’s presence in their midst and to further prove to the world that Islam is a religion of Light and Peace.

“This is the work of God and nobody can fault it. Their neighbour who also saw it is a Christian and this clearly shows that our God is one. It is also a clear indication that God is in our midst and that he has answered our prayers; Islam is a religion of Light and Peace, this incident has proven that again,” the eyewitness said, pleading anonymity.

At the mosque people were still praying fervently while others bought bottled water and rubbed their bottles against the wall on which the apparition appeared, while making requests from the perceived images.
Worshippers inside the mosque continued shouting ‘Allahu’.

At the time of filing this report, more Muslim faithful were still trooping to the mosque.
Sheik Niyyas, whose appartion is causing the huge stir, was a popular Islamic cleric who was born in 1900 and died in 1975. He was born in Senegal where he is still being revered and whorshipped by some Islamic adherents in the West African country.

PoliticsNelson Mandela's Health Improving By The Day, His Daughter Says by Afriface(op): 8:05pm On Aug 10, 2013
JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Former South African President Nelson Mandela's health is improving daily and he is now able to sit up for minutes at a time, his youngest daughter told state broadcaster SABC.
The 95-year-old has been in a Pretoria hospital for two months for treatment of a recurrent lung infection. The government said late last month his condition remained critical but was showing improvement.
Zindzi Mandela told SABC on Friday her father was becoming increasingly alert.

"He's fine. Tata now manages to sit up, like now he sits up in a chair for a few minutes in a day, every day you know he becomes more alert and responsive. Tata is determined not to go anywhere anytime soon, I cannot stress this enough," she said, referring to him by the Xhosa word for father.

"He just doesn't have the strength of a man, he has the strength that is beyond anything that can be explained. Because even now with the challenges to his health, he somehow manages to bounce back when everyone assumes this is the end."

Mandela's victory in the first multiracial elections in 1994 marked the end of the apartheid system. Four years
earlier, he was released after 27 years in prison under white minority rule, 18 of them at the notorious Robben Island penal colony.

PoliticsEFCC Press Release : Fraudster In EFCC Net Over N5m Bank Alert Scam by Afriface(op): 2:11pm On Aug 04, 2013
The EFCC on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 arrested a notorious fraudster who specialises in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public through fraudulent bank credit alerts. Wale Olaide (a.k.a Wale Dollar) met his waterloo when he duped one Abdulhamid Abubakar, a bureau de change operator of N5, 000,000.00(Five Million Naira only). Olaide had contacted Abubakar’s younger brother, Hashim, also a bureau de change operator based in Lome, Togo Republic that he wanted to purchase Five Million Naira (N5, 000,000) equivalent in CFA Francs. Olaide requested for his Nigerian bank account to enable him pay in the naira equivalent. Hashim asked Abubakar to send his First Bank account details to Olaide.

Abubakar acted immediately, sent his account details and after a while, he received an alert supposedly from his bank that N5, 000.000.00 (Five Million Naira) had been credited to his account domiciled at the Seme Border branch. Upon receiving the alert, Abubakar informed his brother who in turn released the CFA Franc equivalent of N5m to Olaide.

The next day Abubakar visited the bank to withdraw the money, but to his dismay, his account balance didn’t reflect the said transaction. He complained to the branch manager and his statement of account was rolled out but the transaction was not reflected. When Abubakar noticed that the bank couldn’t help, he approached the EFCC.

Series of investigative initiatives by the EFCC yielded the arrest of Olaide who is believed to be a member of a deadly syndicate involved in duping unsuspecting members of the public through fraudulent banking notification alerts.
While, the EFCC is working to unravel the intricate network of operations of the syndicate, the Commission has appealed to members of the public to be wary of this new trend in criminality by fraudsters who use phony credit alerts to defraud others.

FamilyMan Absconds After Wife Delivers Triplets by Afriface(op): 9:10pm On Aug 01, 2013
A 30-year-old mother of triplets, Bose Akapo, has cried out for help in search of her husband, Biodun Akapo, 45, who reportedly absconded shortly after his wife delivered of triplets.

Vanguard gathered that the father of the triplets, who is a farmer at Afojupa village, a suburb of Owode-Egba town in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, bolted when he received the news of the birth of the triplets.

It was further gathered that the wife and the runaway husband are indigenes of Ibadan and have been living together as a happy family in the village for over a decade, before the arrival of the triplets.

Narrating her ordeal, Bose, who delivered the babies last Wednesday at a maternity home in the town, explained that she was bailed out at the hospital by a traditional ruler of the town, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, who paid the hospital bill.

She further said her husband had gone out before she started having pains and was assisted to the hospital on a motorcycle by a neighbour.

According to her, “I never thought of three babies until when I put to bed because I already had two children who are ages five and eight. I was taken to hospital on a motorcycle by a neighbour when I started noticing signs of delivery, because my husband was not at home at that time. But, surprisingly, I gave birth to triplets and when the news got to my husband he did not visit me throughout my admission in the hospital, and has since remained incommunicado. I don’t even know his whereabouts till now, but I am begging him to come home for the sake of these innocent babies.

“When I got to the hospital, because I could not find my husband, I contacted our traditional ruler who rendered financial assistance and provided clothings and other medical materials for the babies.”

Vanguard gathered that the woman and the triplets are all in stable condition and have been discharged from the hospital.

Speaking on the development, the royal father of the town, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, expressed optimism that the state government would attend to the needs of the family, describing the Ibikunle Amosun-led administration as a government known for the welfare of the citizens and residents.

CelebritiesStella Damasus' Second Husband Drags Her To Court Over Secret Infidelity by Afriface(op): 8:16am On Aug 01, 2013
It seems the troubles in the lives of beautiful Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus, with regards to marriage are still very much with her.

Information reaching tundeola.com is that Stella Damasus is not yet divorced from her second husband, Mr Emeka Nzeribe before she secretly married Doris Simeon's husband, Daniel Ademiroka.

As a result, Emeka Nzeribe is said to have commenced a process of suing Stella for going ahead to marry and live with another man (Doris Simeon's husband) while they are still married, legally.

If Emeka Nzeribe make good his threat to sue Stella, this will sure compound the problems of the actress who was highly criticized on the social media recently by her fans who said she lack the moral right to insult Senators over under-age marriage, since she is not also laying a good foundation for other ladies.

PoliticsJonathan Running The Most Corrupt Administration In History ––dino Melaye by Afriface(op): 6:25am On Jul 29, 2013
“For the first time in the history of this country, corruption has graduated from the stealing of millions, billions and today into trillions.

“The government of President Goodluck Jonathan is yet to prosecute one corrupt official; not one politically exposed person has been jailed under Jonathan’s administration.”

Former member of the House of Representatives and executive secretary of Anti-Corruption Network, Hon Dino Melaye, has described the government of President Goodluck Jonathan as the most corrupt in the history of the country.

Speaking with Leadership in Abuja, Hon Dino said under the leadership of President Jonathan, corruption has become a national anthem, warning that the country is doomed if the trend is not halted.

He said corruption is thriving because there is total lack of political will to fight the monster by the presidency. Melaye said the situation would continue as long as the power to appoint EFCC and ICPC heads reside with the president and called for constitutional amendment that will take the power to appoint the chairman of the important anti-graft agencies as well was as that of INEC to the National Judicial Council (NJC).

PoliticsLetter To President Jonathan - By Al-mustapha by Afriface(op): 6:38am On Jul 27, 2013
Your Excellency, I bring you good tidings. I want to thank you for this generous gesture of yours which has made it possible for me to breathe the air of freedom again, and to reunite with my family, especially my wife Hafsat, who had dwelt in her own prison throughout my incarceration.

I decided to write you this letter the very first day I learnt that you had made up your mind to set me free. That was weeks before my eventual release. I know some of my words will sound unpalatable; but I am a soldier in whose squadron flattery is hardly a virtue. Obviously, this freedom makes me happy indeed but your motive, at least the perceived it, tore my heart to shreds. I heard it is all about 2015, and not that I was unfairly incarcerated or that a court of competent jurisdiction had acquitted me. However, I maintain even now that I am innocent of the crimes I was accused of and condemned to death for. I am not the only one to rise from the dead. Your wife, Patience, also died and returned, remember?

I am scandalized by the political undertone in the broth of my freedom. I was once the most powerful military officer in this country but now, from what I gather, you have reduced me to a pawn on the chessboard of politics? In the past, generals paid me compliments; but time changes everything.

Mr President Sir, please permit me to call you by your pet-name Jona. I understand that everything you do these days has 2015 imprimatur, but bringing me into the realms of politics is not a wise idea.

Let me refresh your memory a little, if you would let me. I was incarcerated in connection with the murder of Mrs Kudirat Abiola. Of course just as your popular picture as politician who is respected among his neighbours in Otuoke sticks on you like glue, my reputation as a daredevil and fearless intelligence officer precedes me. My creation, the Strike Force, is the deadliest Abuja, has ever known. Oh, I am so proud of its accomplishments. Strike Force made a snake in a garden shudder in fear during our time. Some even said that we had a crocodile pond into which we threw uncooperative people, usually NADECO members or stubborn journalists. But I can assure you no one has pointed out the pond since we left power.

You see, I do not know how many books you have read Jona; but I have even memorised the Holy Qur’an. As a Muslim, it fortified my belief that in spite of the desire of those who wanted me dead, I would be free; may be not as quickly as I was discharged and acquitted but obviously anytime soon.

Why did you release me Jona? Almost all of those who learnt of my release that fateful Friday morning hung my freedom on 2015. They say you are obsessed with it and that you would unchain the devil himself to realize your goal. But I am what the Americans call a goon, you know? I know nothing but soldiering. Forget my grandstanding at the Oputa Panel. It was military strategy. I knew in my military wisdom that a million SANs would not free me if I did not take my destiny in my own hands, with facts and warts. Lawless people don’t change overnight. Without any prejudice to the lawyers in this country, Jona, I can say without fear of contradiction that my tactics hit a chord, with and I believe that is why I am here. But mark you Jona, I Al Mustapha, have no political value in my region, the north, which you are trying to reach out to but which you have also offended in no small measure.

Northerners will hardy forget how you ignored the Boko Haram insurgency until it got out of hand. Unofficial sources claim that close to 800,000 people, most of them northerners, lost their lives and property worth billions destroyed by the insurgents. The insurgency has resulted in northerners losing their positions in the armed forces; mediocrity now reigns. To me as a former Chief Security Officer, your initial inaction depicted a total loss of control. You were a lame duck, even in your first term. So what’s all this elaborate orchestration for 2015?

But don’t mind my position, Jona. Time on death row has taken the winds off my brains. Never mind Yerima Ngama, your minister of state for finance, who told people that my sharp reasoning still amazes him. Ngama is not a psychiatrist. He probably never paid any attention to my behaviour while I marked time in Kirikiri. I had been confused. Sometimes, I greeted people with a clenched fist; while some other times, I smiled, like General Gowon does. At other times, I saluted in military fashion.

You would have noticed too, Jona, that my choices since coming out are dangerously flawed. I greeted everyone in sight: TB Joshua, Fashehun, Otokoto, Ganiyu Adams and Tokyo, to mention a few of them. I make no distinction between the living and the dead, just like I have not adjusted to life outside prison. I even sought Abiola out only to learn that he is deceased. In that miasma, I paid first homage to the Kano Sate Government instead of my people in Yobe. It would have served me just as well if I had driven straight to Gashua and shook hands with Shekau!

Mr President, I am saying all these because personally I know that where the north is concerned, I am a political paper tiger. Like Larry Hagman of the famous soap Dallas, I am the man that people love to hate. I lack the political value you ascribe to me, and if you released me to score a political point in my region, you have only taken a fool’s gambit. But I’m sorry; I can’t help your 2015 dream.
Yours faithfully, Al-Mustapha.Full Gist...
