Syndik8 member and Pepsi ambassador Lynxxx allegedly “disgraced” himself by stabbing a customer at a night club last week.

The Jollof music crooner was at N-tyce night club; a new club in Victoria Island partying with the rest of his crew last Friday when the incident occured.

Lynxx, Ikechukwu’s brother Uzzi, SDC, Uti Nwachukwu, Banky W, Timi Dakolo and a host of other musicians were at the club when a scuffle broke out and at the centre of it was Lynxxx who said a certain Richard a.k.a Pope slapped his cousin.

The manager of the night club pleaded with Lynxxx and his syndicate crew (about 30 of them) to make peace but they insisted that Richard must be brought out of the club. Banky W who was not involved in the fight also pleaded with him but it all fell on deaf ears.

After about 1 hour, Lynxxx and his gang rushed into the club and started fighting. He broke a bottle and stabbed Richard while also injuring and cutting himself by mistake. The whole club turned upside down as guests scampered out for safety. A lot of drinks and equipment worth millions were damaged.

The victim; Richard a.k.a Pope who is a UK based entrepreneur has since reported the case to the police and hired Festus Keyamu as his Lawyer to prosecute him. Lynxxx whose father is a multi-millionaire has bragged that nothing will happen and even said he will do it again if given the chance.

Pepsi is yet to issue any statement on the incident and all calls put through to Lynxxx and his camp have been left unanswered!

Newly elected Pope Francis, Cardinal Jorge Bergolio is a pioneering pontiff in many ways — he’s the first to take the name of Francis, the first pope from South America, and the first to don the papal robes with one lung.

According to the associated press, the new Pope had one of his organs removed as a teenager, presumably after a bout with an infection. At that time, it’s possible that antibiotic treatments that are commonly used today to treat such infections were not as available, and to protect patients from further health problems doctors removed the lung as way to stop the infection from spreading.

“It was probably a pretty bad infection, and maybe even an abscess, that might have caused him to bleed,” says Dr. John Belperio, association professor of pulmonary and critical care medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California Los Angeles. “If he were bleeding a lot in the lung, the only thing to do is to resect the lung, take it out, to stop the bleeding.”

My allocution is however that in sentencing me, temper justice with mercy by sending me to Bastoy Prison in Norway.”

Norway has a population of slightly less than five million compared to Nigeria’s approximately 170 million. It has fewerthan 4,000 prisoners while Nigerian prisons housed 54,156 inmates as of October 31, 2012. Of this number, only 15, 804 were convicted persons while 38, 352 were awaiting trial persons. In terms of
prison and prisoners’ management, the Nigerian Prison Service has a lot to learn from their Norwegian counterpart.

“I condemn it; I condemn it and I condemn it,” the angry lawyer said.

Well-known lawyer Festus Keyamo has condemned today’s state pardon by President Goodluck Jonathan of convicted Ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreiye Alamieyeseigha and convicted Ex-Banker Shettima Bulama.

In a press statement, Keyamo described the pardon, purportedly on the advice of the Council of State, as typifying the height of insensitivity of the Jonathan government to the feelings of Nigerians about the war against corruption.

“It is shocking, confusing and disheartening that at a time when the general mood of the country indicates that the war against corruption is insincere, slow and a sham, the President deems it fit to even rubbish the very little work that has been done by the anti-corruption agencies in securing the conviction of these individuals,” he said. “It is also disturbing that at a time when Nigeria is still ranking very low in the Corruption Perception Index of Transparency International the President has further damaged the image of the country by this singular act.”

He said the pardon teaches no bitter lesson to thieving and corrupt public officers, but encourages corruption at the highest and the lowest levels of public office and the decision itself is corruption per excellence.”

An eight-year-old schoolboy has married a 61-year-old woman because the ghost of his dead ancestor told him to.Sanele Masilela tied the knot with Helen Shabangu, who is already married and a mother-of-five.

The boy, from Tshwane, South Africa, said he had been told by his dead ancestors to wed and his family, fearing divine retribution, forked out for a wedding.

They paid N118,000 for the bride and a further N236,000for the big day, which was organised in just two months.

The widow, who works at a recycling centre, added: 'I would say that this is not wrong.

'Sanele was fine and he was happy about the ceremony and it was what he wanted. He was happy to get married and very excited.'

Sanele and his bride did not sign a marriage certificate and do not have to live together. Both have gone back to their normal lives.

Sanele today said he hoped he would have a proper wedding to a woman his own age when he was older.

He added: 'I told my mother that I wanted to get married because I really did want to.

'I'm happy that I married Helen - but I will go to school and study hard.
'When I'm older I will marry a lady my own age.'Despite being old enough to be his grandmother, bride Helen, whose children are aged between 37 and 27, was happy with the arrangement.Helen, who also works at a recycling centre, said: 'I'm married and have five kids of my own, but I know that this is what the ancestors wanted - and now they are happy.

'It is a ritual. We are just playing now, but it is a sign that he will get married one day.'
Her husband of 30 years, Alfred, 65, said: 'My kids and I are happy.
'We don't have problems with it but some of the community members were shocked.'

Nigeria’s football star, Nwankwo Kanu has lost N1.4 billion in his hotel business and the Managing Director of the hotel, Mr. Ayoola Gam Ikon, 49, has been arrested and charged to court for the alleged fraud.
Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit arrested Ikon, the managing director of Hardley Suites Limited situated at Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, off Elsie Femi Pearse Street, Victoria Island, Lagos southwest Nigeria, for allegedly stealing the N1.4 billion belonging to the hotel and suites owned by Kanu.


Also arrested along with him over the alleged fraud is a hotel staff, Oke Samuel.
They were arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s court on a 19-count charge of felony to wit, obtaining money under false pretence.

The police alleged in charge suit No. K/8/2013 that Ikon was arrested following a complaint by the management of Hardley Suites Limited, Nwankwo Kanu and Ogbonna Kanu, that Ikon between 2005 and 2012 allegedly defrauded them of the sum of about N1.4 billion on the pretence of using the money to expand the existing facilities of the hotel by constructing and furnishing of additional blocks of 30 suites and conference facilities, but he allegedly failed to use the money for the purpose and allegedly converted the money to his personal use.

He was also alleged to have forged a special resolution purportedly made by the board of directors of Hardley Suites Limited to obtain loans of N187 million, N50 million and N493 million from Skye Bank Plc without authorization.

The offences, the accused allegedly committed, according to the prosecutor A.M. Animashaun, contravenes sections 8 (a) 1 (a) of the advanced fee fraud and other fraud related offences Act 2006 as applicable in Lagos State.

The accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The prosecutor presented before the court an application for the remand of the accused persons in prison custody pending advice from the office of the directorate of public prosecution, DPP, because the lower court lacks the jurisdiction to try the matter.

But the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Oshin overruled him with legal facts after quoting copiously from several sections of the criminal justice administration laws of Lagos State to buttress her claim that the court has the jurisdiction to hear and admit the accused to bail.

She admitted the first defendant to bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
One of the sureties must be the defendant himself, the other should be a civil servant on level 16.
She also admitted the second defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties must be a level 16 civil servant while the other must be working with a reputable company.
She adjourned the matter till 4 April, 2013 for mention.

The defendants were, however, moved to Ikoyi Prison, Lagos pending when they would fulfil the bail conditions.

A woman was mauled to death by a lion as she made love to her boyfriend outdoors in Zimbabwe, Sharai Mawera died yesterday after the big cat pounced while she was enjoying a romantic moment in the bush with her partner Daniel Muzarabani.

The My Zimbabwe news website reported that the predator attacked the couple at a secluded spot in the bush near the northern town of Kariba. A source told the newspaper the young woman died at the scene.

He said: 'Unfortunately the woman was mauled to death by the lion, but her boyfriend managed to escape unclad.'
A friend of the couple told My Zimbabwe Ms Mawera had worked at the local market and that her partner was a fisherman.
The friend said: 'He is a fisherman and he used to often meet at the same spot with his girlfriend, who is now deceased.

'The two were romping when the incident occurred. The lion came from behind and roared.
'The guy managed to escape before stopping at a distance where he witnessed his companion being attacked.

'He later rushed to the road seeking help.'

You think you're cold? Thank Goodness its not Nigeria!! This morning I was reminder ed about the little cold weather we had in December last yr and the documentary of recent snow weather in UK, United states and Canada and how folks woke up with their lips frozen stuck to their pillow. However, after learning about the Siberian village of Oymyakon, things really don’t seem so bad after all.

Temperatures in Oymyakon can drop to a staggering -71C, making it the coldest, permanently inhabited place on earth.As you can imagine, living in the a place like that is not very convenient: you can hardly drink anything as it instantly freezes in your glass, batteries shut down and the villagers leave their cars running as they’re afraid the engine won’t restart again. Also, apart from meat, there isn’t much food as nothing can grow on the land, which is deep frozen to a depth of 8 feet.

However, it does make for some truly amazing photos as you can see below.

It’s plenty horrible enough, and that’s before we even tell you the worst part — cellphones don’t work in these kind of hellish temperatures! That’s right: no texting, Tweeting or checking Facebook status updates. Before you know it you’ll begin to feel phantom cell phone vibrations in the left pocket where your phone resides as you slowly transform in a highly detailed snowman. All in all, we understand if a visit to Oymyakon probably won’t rank very high on your bucket list. However, it does make for some truly amazing photos as you can see below.

The town even boasts the usual haunts: School, a post office, a bank and an airport runway (though it's only open in the summer.)

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo turns 76 today, 5th March.
He is a former Nigerian Army general and former President of Nigeria. Born on March 5, 1937.
He declared that he was not willing to celebrate his birthday in a lavish manner until when God spares his life till he hits 80.

President Goodluck Jonathan has written to congratulate former President Olusegun OBasanjo on the occasion of his 76th birthday.A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, quoted JOnathan as saying that NIgerians owe the former president a debt of gratitude for readily giving himself for the peace and stability of the country over the years.


The 76th birthday of the former president was being marked at the premises of his Presidential Library located along IBB Boulevard, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria, with the launch of two books to commemorate the milestone.

Obasanjo, who refused to make elaborate speeches, said the situation in Nigeria today called for sober reflection which will not allow him to celebrate his birthday in a big way.
He noted that the rate of unemployment and the lack of food and insecurity do not give him joy to roll out the drums to mark his birthday.

He expressed the hope that God will spare his life till the next five years and when he clocks 80, the Nigeria of his dreams must have been achieved and he would celebrate his 80th birthday better.
Speaking at the occasion, the Vice President of the World Bank, Oby Ezekwesili, eulogised the former President, saying that to the people outside Nigeria, Obasanjo is a role model and a leader worthy of emulation.

She urged Nigerians to tap from the wealth of experience of the former president.

She advised Africans to strive to achieve more on food production to achieve food security, stressing that instead of fighting themselves, they should fight hunger and poverty.

President Goodluck Jonathan congratulated Obasanjo in a message and described Obasanjo as a leader who had served Nigeria throughout most of his adult life.

Similarly, Senate President, David Mark; Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal; former military leader, General Ibrahim B. Its primary vision is to reach out to sexual minorities in Nigeria, UK, and around the world.

Rev Rowland Jide Macaulay is a confirmed and ordained Pastor who founded the House Of Rainbow Church in 2006. He openly held Sunday services in a Lagos hotel hall decked out with rainbow flags until the public revolted against the church.

I was 14 when I had my first sex with a guy, it was filled with curiousity, passion, embarassment and guilt as with with any heterosexual having sex for the first time.

By this age I had become a youth leader in the church and had spent time reading the bible including discovering chapters that "condemned" homosexuality.
Imagine the furore of my life? Now I have to be discrete, secretive and live a lie. When I look back at my life it never stopped my same sex attractions.

Fast forward thirty years, I am now fully confident that being gay is my natural being and I regretted ever trying to be straight.

I regretted that I did not get the education and appropriate spiritual development to be a gay man. I can understand that and that is why I am determined that the short life I may live in this world I trust God for the development of inclusive Christian education to enable the freedom of the mind, body, soul and spirit.
Recently, my father asked me to prove that homosexuality is genetics. I just looked at him and pointed to myself, "ME" you made me, you gave birth to a homosexual boy he was anxious to know more, so I asked him to prove to me that God is real, not that I don't know but if we were to play "doubting Thomas", lets lay all the cards out.

My homosexuality is real, I am gay and I did not become gay, just like I am black and I did not become black. This is a great way to move forward in life and let the world know that they may hate us but God Adores Us.

A widowed grandmother who travelled to South Africa to marry the man she loved has been found dead under suspicious circumstances in a Johannesburg guest house.

West Australian woman Jette Jacobs, 67 (pictured left), was found in February, two days after she met up with a man calling himself Jesse Orowo Omokoh, 28. (pictured right)

The pair had met on an online dating website.

Ms Jacobs had travelled to Africa to meet the Nigerian before, in a long distance relationship spanning three years and seeing the widow part with $200,000.

But this time they were to be married. She wanted to settle in Nigeria. Her children had begged her to stay in WA. Her body was discovered in her rented villa by South African police on February 9.

Mr Omokoh, who would report to being the last person to see her alive, vanished after speaking to police.

One of Ms Jacobs' six children, who did not want to be identified, told 6PR radio in Perth on Monday her mother had been to South Africa four times, initially to meet another man.

"She wasn't naive when it came to other countries, we lived in Malaysia for many years," she said.
When the woman's brother received a phone call from a South African guest house, the siblings who had warned their mother against what they believed was a scam relationship, were in disbelief.
"I thought it was a hoax and I wouldn't believe that my mother had actually passed so I rang the consulate," the woman said.
