Many people are raising potential sociopaths with lax and/or woke parenting. Beating a child is not the only way to discipline a child and if you are having to beat your child in order to prevent him/her from breaking TV sets then you need to check the environment you are raising your child in and review your own parenting style. Finally, that child probably needs professional help of some kind.

Roland17:
There are developmental milestones every child achieves as they age. Those milestones are typically physiological, biological, intellectual/ cognitive. When there is a deficit in any of the aspects listed, then we need to ask why?

Flogging doesn’t correct a deficit in emotional regulation. When you flog, you are not beating a child’s inability to properly regulate their emotions, rather, you are beating the child’s response to their inability to properly regulate their emotions. In this instance the response is anger or other maladaptive behaviors. Beating may suppress anger which is the response but it will not resolve the deficit in emotional regulation. Remember I said suppress anger, not resolve anger.

The process of developing proper emotional regulation, is a lifetime but usually starts at 2 when kids start to explore the different emotions they are feeling. That is the best time to help children learn proper emotional regulation. Helping them understand emotions like crying, smiling, anger, confused etc makes the foundation strong. Redirect inappropriate responses immediately and consistently at this age. Encourage them to use their words. Also, their environment remains the biggest factor of influence. What surrounds the child? What is the child seeing? What they see informs how they interpret certain emotions.

Every disciplinary approach has the ability to have the same effect. The most important thing is the intention behind discipline and ensuring the approach/ choice of discipline matches the situation. Also, what are your own emotions when you are disciplining your child? Do adults mix their own frustrations with life when they discipline their children? For me, it has to be a combination and knowing what is effective and how to use it. Also, being flexible with approach.

If my child breaks TV as response to anger, e go collect before we dive into “why”? I am quite traditional but I also know my growing up is different from today. Know what your child responds to and that is effective and be flexible enough to explore options. Also, ensure discipline is age appropriate before your tempt a teenage son to handle you.. I have always said, my children will earn my friendship when they grow but until then I will parent.

Modric is physically more tenacious. Madrid also usually plays in a 3 man midfield.
Playing in a 2 man Amorin midfield requires a different set of skills, most of which are defensive.

Those late Abacha days and early OBJ days were just scary. I carry traveling bag say I dey go Ife, my friend say make he escort me reach bus terminal for Oshodi, we stopped to have a few bottles, Na so police come raid us. I was at the bar but my friend went to pee in the backyard. S na me dem carry. My friend come dey wonder what would happen to me na so he surrendered himself to be carried too cos there was no way he would contact me or know where I dey

After dem put us in those Fedeco buses, picked some more area boys. They parked and extorted us. We gave them like N700 and they dropped us at Bolade. To make room for more people they were about to pick

It depends on their mood and especially time of the day, The rain all through the day but evening it increases. Someone told me that around Abule oja, dem don use buses pretend like commercial call passengers and when people entered discovered that it was a police vehicle, they obtained all of them
They used to do that a lot. They will go out with bus in the morning and drive around the whole day “arresting” people and using the bus as a sort of mobile police cell. When you pay up they will drop you and allocate your space to the next person they arrest.

One of my friends who was a medical student then but a crazy guy spent the whole day with them in the bus, watching them arrest people and extort them. The guy told them he was an orphan (lie) and had no one to pay for him. When they finally released him he had the temerity to ask them for T-fare cos they had picked him up around Cele bus stop (Apapa Express) and dropped him far away from there.
Last I heard he was working in Saudi.

The bolded is so true.

One time like that, my guy went to INEC office for Okene to get his Voter's card. He was told his Voter's card was not available. For more than five years, yet, it's not available for collection. Along the line, he had serious misunderstanding with the staff, exchanging words with them (Obviously, that's their modus- operandi. Only God knows why).

So, along the line, they called the security personnel and they picked up my guy.

We were in the field around 4pm when my guy called telling us to show for police station that he has been detained. Three of us went with our jerseys on. We were told the story that ensued and the need to bail him with 15k.

None of us came with cash. To transfer, no. Ok, let one of us withdraw for POS nearby, Omo, these guys in black uniforms refused any of us leaving the premise for any reason at all. It's either we bail him right now or join him in the cell. Which kain wahala be dis angry angry angry

We had to call someone to help us withdraw money and bring it for us.

That time it wasn’t a regular occurrence that is done arbitrarily on a daily basis with the intent of extorting people of bail money .

From the little I can remember then, people get rounded up where there’s a major fracas in an area or there’s a consistent report of crime in an area .
I have no doubt that it is happening more frequently now but it has always being happening.

I know several people it happened to in different formats. What has been happening for years is just a stone’s throw away from the kidnap for ransom that we are now seeing from proper criminals.

Well, maybe because we grew up in different cities and at different times sha .

Growing up in Lagos, the only reasons u will get rounded up and locked up by the police are :

1. You get arrested when police carry out raids on Game Center’s where gambling on video games ,table tennis , snooker and whot are being carried out .

2. You get caught up in a fight between ur secondary school and another secondary school or outsiders which members of the community called the police to come and break up.

In each of the instances above , u will hear an earful from ur parents when they eventually secure ur release from the police cell cos u have just brought shame and disgrace to ur family . Parents care about what neighbors gossip concerning the behavior of their kids and are always embarrassed for being put in such position by their kids .

Now to the boy arrested , that’s an all time low for the Nigerian police . Even me that was already an adult and a 200level student in the university when I was arrested , the whole thing was traumatizing for me and my parents .

Imagine my parents having to find their way to police station around 12 am to 12.30am in the middle of the night only to be told their son whom police randomly picked on the street around 9.30pm to 9.45pm cannot be released until next morning .

Prior to that time, we all thought only people who have committed a crime or misdemeanor get arrested and locked up by the authorities . We didn’t know police authorities make random arrest of people just to farm bail money for themselves .

So, I can imagine the rude shock the boy’s parents would’ve experienced seeing their 15 year old boy being detained in a foul smelling police detention facility .

Even me , when I was released I left home for school same day and didn’t return home for a long time cos I was traumatized by the whole incident . Till date , I get nervous when I see any commercial bus slowly moving with its full light in my direction in the night. I sometimes freak out not because of robbers but because of policemen. 🤦‍♂️
You must have grown up in an extremely ajebutter part of Lagos. Because for the Lagos wey i grow up dem dey round up boys for bus stop o.
Pre-GSM days boys dey last 1 week inside cell if dey are roaming at the wrong time or in the wrong place. You don't have to be in a game/snooker center or caught up in a fight, although those situations increase your risk.

Me the people I am waiting for are Thwaites and Ibragimov, you saw that goal Ibragimov scored for the U-21? The one Chido assisted him. Thaat boy is giving Alexis McAllister vibes.
Another one that can be promoted is James Scanlon, he looks a bit more mature than his age mates, may be because he is a full international now. But generally he looks average to me.
Yeah, Thawites and Ibragimov are promising but i think they are a couple of years away. The Under-18s currently have better players than the Under-21s but the Under-21s are generally more ready to contribute this season.

Ibragimov's ceiling is above McAllister level, whether he will fulfil it is another matter. Thwaites is a technician, but does he have the legs to play in a 2-man Amorin-style midfield? That is to be determined.

Mantato and Kukonki are tailormade for Amorin football from a physical profile point of view. Mantato plays mainly RWF for us and occasional LB, for the England youth teams he plays LB for them and occasional RWF.

Scanlon is like Mather. Technically secure on the ball and can retain possession fairly well. They are also quite intelligent team players with good movement and good finishing (in Scanlon's case very good finishing). The problem is lack of speed and general physicality.

Scanlon looks more mature because he is. grin
He is our oldest regular Under-18 player. Due to his birthdate he and Victor Musa were able to just slip under the U-18 age requirement and are the oldest in the current group.

Even though he has some Garnacho behaviour about him, I think Amorin should give Ennis some minutes to see if there is anything there. He is getting too old and good for Premier League 2.

Mather is intelligent but limited especially physically. Williams has most of the tools but does not play with enough intensity and might even be better at WB.

Oh i see.
I Laugh when some people say that 3 atb system wont work or is problematic. I have done my research and noticed that some of the nastiest coaches to play against are the ones that do 3 atb. Inzaghi for now is at the top of the pile, Gasperini is another one, Conte, Alonso, even Tuchel. Very annoying to play against, and they don't require too many marquee signings to work, just discipline, effiecient and high work rate shikena. If you watch Atalanta and Inter, those guys are absolute Bastards, they will frustrate the hell oit of you.

One thing I have noticed too about Amorim style that is different from other 3atb coaches is his passing stats. I.e the amount and accuracy. Apart from Alonso' Leverkusen, All 3atb coaches have low passing and possesion stats against tough oppositions, including elite ones like Gasperini and Inzaghi, and even Conte.

Since Amorim came, we have out-passed every team we have played against apart from City yesterday, infact we were leading them both in terms possession and every passing stats until the injury time because we just wanted to see out the game and they were desperate to score.
For context even though City are poor recently, but they have dominated possesion against every team they played and by far out-passed all of them including Liverpool.
During ETH , we barely clock 300/350 passes even against any competent team even Fernabache, out-passed us. Yesterday versus city we had 476 to City's 491 we were leading them in this stat before injury time, i was constantly checking it, thats insane against City at Etihad.
We had 22 touches in Man city box, thats also insane at Etihad, many teams including Liverpool didnt have up to 15 at Anfield. Also Man city had like 18. For Context, away to Brentford last season they had 85 touches in our box.
I took a dive and checked Sporting stats I discovered that it followed the same pattern, they dominated every team they played including the top teams, they only match they didn't was against city that they won 4-1, which shows that we have better quality players than Sporting in possession and passing accuracy, they just had better team work having played and trained together for a longer time. Surprisingly, the new coach in Sporting even though he just won his first league game against Boavista last weekend, his team dominated the possession and passing stats too including agaisnt Arsenal. Which means Amorim has ingrained that style in the team before he left.

I don't know if this is a positive sign, but its a very interesting one. Most 3atb teams are known for their OOP mastery, stifling abity and quick transition, but Amorim added passing and possession to that chart in his teams. Another thing I noticed with Alonso Leverkusen is their OOP arrangement is below par compared to others the best in that aspect is Atalanta, those guys are demons.

I believe that a deep lying orchestrator to patner Ugarte is essential or Mainoo should be trained to be that. A set of wingbacks and an experienced Striker is needed, plus a 10. I suggest Witz. In CB we are really good we have 5 solid ones Maz, Licha, Deligt, Yoro and Maguire (I will give him 2 year extension on reduced wages, Francesco Acerbi,36 and DeVries 32 are the 2 CCBs in inter, and Djimsiti at 31 plays it for Atalanta until they got Hien in the summer to share the responsibility).

afrodoc2.
Very detailed analysis of the possession and passing stats. I had noticed something similar but did not have the stats to back it up. Good that your research highlights it very well. I think the key is that not only are our players organized better in terms of having passing lanes and options but also that we play with more patience. There were many opportunities yesterday for either Bruno or Ugarte to spam long balls forward and thereby lose possession but instead they went for the more seasonable option and kept circulating it until a better opportunity arose.

With regards the CBs i think we still need a LCB to compete with Martinez. I have some hope in Kukonki but he is realistically still a couple of seasons away and who knows what trajectory the club will move in when Amorin settles in. We might even need a LCB of a higher quality than Martinez.

For the CMs we need another starter level senior player like you said. One who has Ugarte's intensity but can also orchestrate, He might be the initial starter while both Mainoo and Ugarte rotate around him. Whichever of them is able to iron out his flaws better will then start partnering him.

A player like Wirtz or Musiala would be great for the left 10 role while Amad is the right 10. I am not so sure we need to spend money on an experienced striker at this stage, especially with our potential FFP restrictions. If we spend appropriate money on 2 WBs, a LCB, 1-2 CMs, a LAMF, and we still have the funds then we can look for another CF. Most of the CFs around now are potential frauds who will just cost us big money for little return. That is why every new season there is another 1-2 season wonder who is making the news.

He seems to trust Hojlund, Deligt, Ugarte, Bruno, Amad, Mazraoui, Mount and Licha. He always uses Dalot too, may be it’s necessity as there is no one.
Dalot is being used because we do not have better options. We have been in the market for a LWB some months and we also signed that Paraguayan boy.
