Oasis007: ....if indeed its either of the two or both leaking it, they should be SOLD in January!
Rashford is gone soon anyway. He can't co-exist with this coach. Garnacho can co-exist with the coach but does not fit the system. Long term he too will be gone.
P.S I am not sure they leaked it but that is the word on the street.
ChristineC: but this has been going on for years and have been overlooked. how hard can it be?
That it has been overlooked before does not mean it is not wrong. And this one leaked nearly a full day before the game. We are also the only club that it regularly happens too.
patrickmuf: Afrodoc2 what's up with Amass? Is he back playing for the academy?
Yes he should be playing the FA Youth Cup with the Under-18s this midweek. He is one of the players that might lose out from the change in manager though.
I think I previously talked about shock losers and shock winners from the change in formation and style. He might be a shock loser. Jack Fletcher is another one that might be a shock loser. Potential shock winners in the Under-21s are Ennis and Moorhouse.
Kukonki, Mantato, Ibragimov, and the perennially injured Lacey on the other hand have natural slots in the system and are potentially the biggest winners long term. Lacey’s injuries are starting to pile up and though.
Maybe Yoro is not fully fit yet. He didn’t have a preseason and is still quite young. They are introducing him slowly into the system and that is the way it should be. Maz at RCB has been great so far so Yoro can take his time to work his way into the system.
Leyqute: Yes, it is. But it’s very problematic if it leaked almost 24 hrs before the game. City can know what to expect and easily plan ahead on finding the weak spots and neutralizing the threats- which is majorly Amad in this case. Pep would just put Akanji on him and we’d be powerless
CapitalCee: E be like say Amorim cannot do without Dalot. Lol. Well na Shaw I blame
We don't have enough full backs that can play wingback in this Amorim system. Shaw can't even play that position if he was fit. He would not last 45 mins in that position because of the requirements on the body.
The options are Maz, Dalot, Amad, Antony and Malacia. I am even concerned that if Maz plays that WB role he will breakdown as well. Our most urgent need in the team is WB (both LWB and RWB). We have a few hopes in the academy, but probably still 6-12 months away but i expect us to get at least 2 senior WBs in the next 2 transfer windows.
Paul Mescal. I done make mental note never to watch another movie of his
It’s not purely his fault. The story is weak and the script even weaker.
Very contrived story line. They should have just made a clean break from the Aurelius family. There are enough alternative story lines in that period of Roman history that could have been used.
Leyqute: How did Wheatley play? Saw that he scored a goal. Which of those guys would Amorim be considering promoting?
Wheatley scored a good goal but missed a 1v1 abd also missed a penalty. He played okay.
Moorhouse was the best player on the pitch. Gore was good especially in the 2nd half. Tyler Fletcher was also good and I am stating to suspect he is more suited to senior football than his more gifted twin brother.
engrelvis: Sad, that means lf Onana get injure we r in serious trouble. Ur a good analyst.. with regards to Amorim pattern of play who is our best 11? l still prefer urgarte / caesimiro in dt midfield. l don't trust Mainoo. For our back three it shud b lindelof, Martinez, Dalot. De ligth is a carbon copy of phyil Jones( all brawl but no brain).Erasmus is d only finisher we v.
Lindelof that is a coward in the air as CCB? Dalot that spends nearly half the time trying to pass to out opponents as RCB?
de Ligt has prevented so many potential episodes of chaos and confusion in our defence by being brave and dominant in the air that he starts as CCB for me. Maguire is another option.
At RCB the best options are Maz (who has been our best player this season) and Yoro, and not Dalot. Lindelof can be an option as RCB because of his passing and his weakness in the air won’t be too much of an issue there.
A fit Shaw is better than Martinez at LCB. He is bigger, faster, and can cover wide areas while being a good passer also. Since Shaw is never fit however, Martinez gets the job by default. By next season we might have someone else there though.
Ugarte and Mainoo is my preferred pair in midfield. The cover each other’s weaknesses well. Collyer is a dark horse that might sneak in ahead of more senior options like Case and Eriksen.
Leyqute: Bad transcription error. Watched the interview. What he said was ”Leny Yoro makes a one-two, jumps in front and then… a bad pass… makes a counter attack, and then you suffer a goal”.
There was a pause. He didn’t mention Bruno but he wasn’t referring to Yoro as the one who made the bad pass. The “jump in front” could easily translate to he moved forward to receive the return pass sef.
I watched the replay of the start of the second half again sef to confirm. Yoro was not at fault at all. It was Bruno with his stoopid rush rush football.
It’s not easy to be a Man Utd manager.
Oh ok. I come dey wonder why he wan throw the young boy under the bus.
Oasis007: "I think against Nottingham [Forest] we should pass the ball a little bit quicker, so it is with safety but a little bit more quicker when everything is blocked. For me the most important point is that every player should be in the good position to start when we play.
"We were controlling the game and we started the second half very well and if you remember one play, Leny Yoro makes a one-two, jumps and then makes a bad pass. He [gives them] a counter attack and then, a goal.
"We have to continue to play in the same way but with a low block. It is this kind of details and you have to play the ball by preparing to lose the ball sometimes. These kind of points are really important in our team because in the past, and still, in this moment you can see a lot of moments like this.
"I can remember just from the top of my head, the game against Liverpool, all the goals were mostly like that and we are doing work on that. You see the same thing last week so we are trying to improve with the ball but also the way when you can lose the ball, you are covering our own goal."
GloriousGbola: i am wondering what the man's endgame is.
SR is trying to provide support by pointing to wikileaks articles that indicted afe bablola. the problem is - are those admissible in a court if law?
unless Dele just wanted to knock babalolas legacy before the man died. that is all i can see coming out of this.
BlueRayDick: He is a lawyer and the people that claimed he defamed them are also lawyers .
They should all slug it out in court . May the best team win. Our own na to just watch from the sidelines as spectators .
He didn’t write anything new sef, we all know our judicial officers are corrupt starting from regular lawyers , SANs and judges of the courts at various level .
Shebi na this country we Dey when a partner from Wole Olanipekun’s chambers was pitching a client requesting the client give her chambers a brief that their law firm will “switch things” in the client’s favor . If not that the other lawyer Henry Ajumogobia raised an alarm and she was rightly disbarred , it would’ve been swept under the carpet .
I just hope the guy has some evidence to back up his claims.
Yes, it is public knowledge but none of us put names to it in a globally published book. Knowing it (like the rest of us do) is not the problem, publishing it is the root of his travails.
Anybody who plans to step on powerful toes must have a Plan B.
Oasis007: Sir Jim Ratcliffe: "Our antenna wasn’t perfect at United and we’ve made one or two errors, but they’re a lot better than they would have been than if we’d not done Nice and Lausanne. There is major change to come to achieve elite status. If you shy away from the difficult decisions, nothing much is going to change."
I am hearing that Ashworth would not be replaced. I guess our transfers will be handled by Wilcox and Vivell.
They should have appointed Paul Mitchell in the first place and not Ashworth, but hindsight is 20/20.
Kimbeast: They had Foden who was rated higher than Palmer and then Oscar bobb was also breaking out from the academy. No one saw Palmer being this good.
I knew he had the potential in him and they should have known it too.
If Palmer was your club’s academy player and you saw the club sell him off without giving him a proper chance you would have been angry.
That level of talent has to be given a chance by the club. The sale didnt make sense when it happened.
The only thing I will say is that Bobb and Foden are more natural team and system players while Palmer is more individualistic. I think that is the reason Pep didn’t take to him. Mumu reason though.
raumdeuter: I think its a combination of many things
City had a large squad with the players you mentioned and they couldn't guarantee him sure starting role which was understandable
Chelsea was at their lows and will give him a starting shirt and keys to the kingdom immediately. They actually made him their first choice PK taker immediately (Odegaard Madrid to Arsenal scenario)
City just won a treble and the arrogance that any player is replaceable plus Palmer is not of the stature to hold them to ransom Its like the way Ferguson discarded Stam and Beckham at their peaks. and Pep let Etoo leave. The arrogance of success
To get a player of the level of Palmer now you will likely spend 120M. City's loss Chelseas gain
Yeah i think it was arrogance and short-term thinking. Palmer was elite in the academy and because he spent a bit more time than Foden and Sancho before moving to the senior team i saw more of him and he was wrecking teams all over the place. Partly due to the fact that he was not rushed like a few of the other talented players he is the most prolific non-striker i have seen in the academy/reserve system.
raumdeuter: Why is it unpopular? Palmer is better than those waste men they parade as wingers like Savinho Doku Grealish
You can't lose Mahrez and now let Palmer go especially when the core guys are getting older
Everybody in Man City that allowed Palmer to go needs to be flogged publicly. The deal never made sense to me cos i have always known him as a killer.
Maybe it was trust in Foden, Silva and upcoming Bobb and did not want to have 2 many left footers, but a year later he got Savinho so that one sef no enter.
maik99: His heart was not with us Let’s not revise history
This is why i stopped getting involved in the Sancho debate. You can't force someone to like you.
He did not really want to play for us, but we paid the transfer fee and then we started him off on the wrong foot with that massive salary and placed him in an undisciplined squad that was being spoilt by the likes of Woodward, Arnold, Murtough.
He was unprofessional and immature in his approach to his career, but the idea that Sancho is not a talented player was always a nonsensical one.
