The show may not be on that Spartacus level , but I like the fact that they were real in some aspects . For example , the way Kwame has escaped being killed in the arena , it is real. I doubt Dumfries would come over to be 2nd choice to Dalot. But Shaw and Malacia are not it for me. They both need to be replaced as a priority

The LB needs urgent attention I agree but AWB is out of contract next year. This is the time to get a little money back for him, and add it to our transfer funds.
We can do both deals this window.

Also whatever use AWB has is detrimental to how a team that wants to play front foot, attacking football sets up.

We can’t keep criticising the team for playing haram football and still want to keep players like AWB and BellTominay, that will not get anywhere near the squad of other top teams, just because they have their uses.

I prefer AWB to that guy. With Dalot and AWB, there's a bit of balance with the skillsets they possess, with Dumfries the balance becomes skewed.

We do not need the kind of balance that AWB brings. I am not even a Dumfries fan like that, but you see that AWB na error. There is no top team that has a full back who is so limited on the ball like him. If we want to improve as a team in terms of how we play, especially how we play out from the back, we should not have a player like AWB on our books. We need players that can at least contribute in a way that we can maintain our style of play if injuries occur.

Dumfries is a wing wingback not a fullback. Good at going forward, shit at defense. If we're looking to replace AWB, it should be a clear upgrade not with Dumfries who Dalot is better than.

We are not getting a RB better than Dalot. At lost not in this window. We are getting a RB to take AWB's place on the bench.

Like Ibime pointed out in one if his earlier post today, civil service run thr government. A country that will work needs an efficient civil service that will work irrespective of who the politician is. All strong institutions are made up of dedicated civil servants. A nation cannot outgrow the efficiency or productivity of its civil servant.

Politicians come and go every 4yrs, civil servants remain for years. They are the kokoro ton jegba, ninu e gba lo wa.

Nigeria's major problem is not end of civil service but corruption and a culture of waste. That is the origin of Nigeria's problems. I am not saying Muhammed or other leaders are blameless, or that the civil service is not bad, but the person in charge when our major problem became a major problem, is the person with the main responsibility.

FYI The civil service was already incredibly corrupt and bloated during Gowon's regime. That is one of the reasons why Muhammed went overboard and kicked many of them out. He was not attacking an innocent system. The problem was that he went about it in the wrong way, like a butcher performing skin cancer surgery.

IBB is up there. Definitely more significant than Murtala Muhammed IMO in terms of Nigeria's downfall. I would still put Gowon at the top because he was the one who wasted our resources the most, for the most time, when we had the most of it. He didn't steal it personally, but practically everybody else did, AND very importantly, that is when everybody started doing it.

Today few people in govt will do what is right for Nigeria, but what will favor their pocket, and this is the point of origin of this.

This is what trump supporters are cheering a reversion to a third world style govt where the civil service hinges on loyalty to the leader rather than to the country

Gowon is more an architect of Nigeria's downfall than Murtala Mohammed.

The culture of civil servants stealing the country blind was entrenched during Gowon's 9-year rule. There were bloated parastatals and the culture of government spending just for spending's sake aka white elephant projects was institutionalized during his regime.

That was also the peak of the oil boom when Nigeria could have made giant steps to join the industrialized world. Instead, the money was pilfered by politicians, civil servants, and their cronies. Murtala while trying to correct the rampant malfeasance in the system, might have made his own mistakes, but he did far less damage in those 6-7 months than Gowon.

Nigeria's problems have a myriad of root causes, but if one single man was to shoulder the blame for Nigeria's demise at the gates of hell, it would be Yakubu Gowon.

Scanlon is also more ready for the men's game. than the 2 of them. He is stronger, sharper and more tenacious on the ball. If/when those 2 catch up physically they would get their chance.
