The importance of having technical players over players with pace and power.

Also, we saw what a good defence and midfield can do for a team. INEOS, fix that defence and midfield o!

If Sancho leaves then, let's go for another winger.
True, but the most important thing this showed is the importance of having a good manager over a bad manager. If you changed managers with these same squads, the England team would win 4-0.

Just because Southgate is England manager people do not understand how terrible a manager he was/is. He is your regular relegation fodder manager that was somehow appointed to a level above his ability. It was a purely political appointment.

Elyhl made it. Cool.

Why is Oyedele listed as a defender? Physicality? Seems like they've decided he isn't a midfielder/ forward anymore. Probably not a thing.

Afrodoc did they move Ayodele and Ogunneye's positions around a lot in the academy?

The other Fletcher kid didn't make it.
Oyedele is mainly a CM but i have seen him play RB. I think the first time i even saw him play as a schoolboy, he came on as a sub to play RB. Recently they have also been playing him in AM.
I think Oyedele is too far down the pecking order in all his potential positions. He is strong and physical but has not nailed down any position and he has some technical deficiencies in his game that might limit him.

Ogunneye is mainly a RB but can do a job as LB. He also played CB at times but he is far too short to try it in the senior game.

Tyler Fletcher is said not to be as good as Jack. Tyler is more of DM/CM while Jack is CM/AM. Tyler has also had a few injuries lately.

CONFIRMED TRAVELLING INGREDIENTS

GOALKEEPERS
Elyh Harrison
Dermot Mee
Radek Vitek

DEFENDERS
Harry Amass
Sonny Aljofree
Rhys Bennett
Jonny Evans
Will Fish
Louis Jackson
Sam Murray
Habeeb Ogunneye
Maximillian Oyedele
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Oyedele is a midfielder, unless they want to use him at RB for this preseason cos he has played there before. The only RBs in the travelling squad are AWB and Ogunneye. If AWB joins another club during the tour, Ogunneye will need an alternate.

Kambwala refused to sign a contract extension and has only 1 yr left on his contract.

10m won’t be a bad deal. I expect him to kick on and make a good name for himself if he remains injury free.

Rene also is a coach. Kinda surprised both resigned their positions to become Assistants. Ruud is far an Upgrade on Beni. Boys must learn how to hit nets by fire by force.
Yes Rene is also a manager but Ruud is a football legend that was also managing a big Dutch club. So that was a bit more surprising.

I hope we are able to benefit from their experience and expertise. If Ruud can impart just 50% of his movement and finishing to our strikers e no go bad.

Ah. Ethan Williams. Im still in awe of that lad’s talent. He did come to live towards the end of last season. Him and oga Wheatley. Hopefully they kick on from there next season.

Reckon any of the youngins would get a debut next season? (Wheatley already played for the first team last season). I’m hoping my boy Harrison gets a good season. Maybe a loan deal sef. Cos that U-21 level, I don’t like how some of the talents that graduated there didn’t go on up from there.
Harrison grew taller like you wished last season, and he still kept his reflexes and agility, so your jazz worked. Yeah, i think he needs a League One loan this season. but i selfishly want him to stay behind for our UEFA Youth League games. The guy has real potential.

The ones i suspect have a chance of making the first team this season are Collyer, Williams, and Amass.

Doc what do you know about this lads? Can they make it here?
Ashton Missin I would say no. He is pacy but I don’t think he has the X-factor and he isn’t the biggest lad. Leyqute and I have discussed him here. We like his speed, work rate, and application but ultimately I don’t think he has enough quality.

I really like Ethan Williams. Probably not as fast as Missin but he is a dominant winger when he feels like it. He is G/A king who takes free kicks and corner kicks with both feet, and scores from outside the box with both feet. Because he can shoot and cross with both feet he finds it easy scoring for himself and creating for others.
My 2 concerns with him are that he does not take his marker on 1v1 enough the way Garnacho did (or that even Missin does), and that he does not seem to possess elite speed. Also, he is sometimes nonchalant with his touch.

This is the part I am sceptical about. Sometimes, in a bid to develop muscles and all that, players lose their agility. As he ages, his physique and defending will improve.
Hopefully. I am especially interested in how he develops in terms of acceleration and speed.

The speed required at senior level is way more than that at the academy level.

Afrodoc, abeg keep giving us updates on the academy lads, I always look forward to your post on academy prospects.

Amass is the next one.
Yeah. Amass has real potential. He still needs to develop physically and in terms of defending, but in terms of IQ and technique he is already one of the best in the club.

That's mainly true in terms of goals. They both put up poor numbers by their standards.

That being said, at least Messi has a handsome return of assists to fall back on. While he was struggling to score, he was creating for others. Same cannot be said for bro wasiu, who put up poverty numbers in every regard.

Notice how your friend is avoiding assist stats like a plague in this discussion. When it fits his narrative tho, he'll reintroduce them.
Fair point. Messi is the better playmaker of the two and is the more naturally talented one. I was just surprised with the poor goal scoring from both when that is what they used to bully other players for so long.

Even if we let him go for free it is worth it. There are several Academy midfielders who would have benefitted from all the minutes he stole these past couple of years. The guy was a wasted project.

Does the Democratic Party not have a sellable candidate for the US presidential election apart from Biden?

Imagine going to Radio stations to answer questions that had been sent to the radio presenters in order not to have a bad outing similar to the debate against Trump.
It is extremely difficult for an incumbent to lose his party's nomination, and the few times a president has chosen not to run for re-election it usually spells certain defeat for the party at the general election.

She said today is not her day since it wasn't July 9th

Anyway the show was good, but they should avoid 2nd season. I can only see it degenerating into a farce from here. The last episode was already a bit farcical in the last fight, and if they continue, they will just descend further into sci-fi bullshït

What made the series was the personal stories which they have now exhausted, it's a one season show and they should end it there
Her mumu too much. Or her bf mumu too much. Butterfly effect don alter all those dates. Spud tried to explain to the guy.

Yeah I agree it’s more of a miniseries than a series. Series like this always misfire by Season 3 tops.

The personal stories and the roadman angle made me watch it. Those shiny shiny eyes no dey trip me.
