Firstly, the team structure is defective. Secondly, Amrabat himself is not really blessed with pace from the little I have seen. Pace is what has been killing us in that midfield. If Casemiro does not somehow regain his form he will do to Amrabat what Eriksen is currently doing to him (Casemiro).

One thing that won’t shock me is if ETH starts the same eleven that played Brighton, including GhosTominay. That match was one of his most exquisite ghosting performances. You would have noticed that almost nobody had anything good or bad to say about him in that game, unlike Rashford, Bruno, Dalot, Case, Hannibal, Onana etc. That is the hallmark of a perfect ghost.

You are right. We should be playing better. Let’s see how the season goes in terms of quality and style of football, especially when Højlund, Mount, Amrabat, Mainoo are fully integrated into the first team.

A more serious concern is our transfer activity. Someone competent needs to come in and oversee that. There is evidence from his Ajax days that if ETH is given the right tools he can coach attractive attacking football. There is no evidence that he knows how to get those tools. Someone needs to save him from himself and take that full responsibility away from him.

We can’t sign Pep because he won’t come here. Look at the clean and smart way he has planned his career. He goes to well run organisations with a very good structure in place.

We also have to remember that the good football Assanal is playing now took a couple of seasons to implement. There are serious reasons to criticise ETH but I honestly don’t think changing manager yet again will lead to any long term benefits.

Anybody who doubts the importance of a proper management structure should look at the sexy football Potter coached at Brighton and how utterly useless he looked at Chelshit.

I've never really been a star wars fan. DSTV used have the original trilogy on repeat back in the day on movie magic but I never got into it.

The Phantom Menance however came out in JSS3 and released with the excellent Star Wars Episode 1 racer on N64, so I got into the hype..at least for the first 2. I was in the UK that particular summer and the hype was mad - London buses, Kelloggs cereal cartons, etc...and that's how I really got into Star Wars that period.

I have struggled to watch Star Wars content since. The new trilogy bounced off me. The Clone Wars series didn't work for me . The Mandalorian didn't work. I didn't even try to watch Boba Fett. And I tried to watch Ahsoka recently with my kids- they loved it. But nah.

The only content from the IP that I've constantly gotten jiggy with is the games. Star wars racer. Force unleashed. Fallen Order. I've not played Survivor.

Omo if you didn’t vibe wit The Mandalorian and Boba Fett then there is no point convincing you. It is just not your cup of tea. I agree that the latest trilogy was not up to standard sha.

King Kobbie! Nice one. I too like the boy. After Greenwood he is the academy player that i have the most trust in. He is also the only that at every stage i have seen him in (Under-17, Under-18, Under-23, First Team) has had little or no settling in period. He just comes in and starts playing like a chairman. The only time he struggled a bit was when he was played in AM/RW for the Under-18s as a 15yr old. When he came back the next season as a 16yr old 1st scholar he dominated at CM like a boss.

With Casemiro, Amrabat, Eriksen around i don't think we will rush him too much, though if he comes in and displaces all of them i won't be surprised. That is the Mainoo way.

Garnacho had a good game vs Arsenal in preseason. in the first 2 games of the season he made good decisions on the ball as regards team play. He's a better winger for Hojlund than Rashford is.

I understand that there's a lack of options but Garnacho should be coming on when Rashford is stinking up the joint. ETH can then remove Rashford or push him to form a 2-man striker system with the main striker.

We haven't seen Garnacho on the pitch since Tottenham. Then ETH brought him on vs Brighton for the last 5 mins. To come and do what?

To be honest i can't remember Garnacho having any good games, but you may be right. One mistake ETH made was keeping Rashford on until the end when it obviously wasn't his day. I really wonder what message that sends out to the other players. He should hve the Bayern game as his last chance salon, and if he flops again then someone else should be given a run of games on that LW. A more team-oriented player, be it Garnacho or Pellistri.

It is system certain to fail. You can't be a pressing team and have one of your forward players stroll around, not with GKs that are such good passers and so many teams well drilled in beating the press. If you want to have a stroller in your attack it is better you pack the bus like under Jose or sit deep and hit on the counter like under Ole.

What i am seeing are strategic flaws in ETH's planning. Even the way we press is ineffective. Apart from Rashy strolling around and being a minus one, we also usually press with only 3 or 4 players (minus Rashy makes it 2 or 3 effective pressers). If you watch the great pressing teams like Flick's Bayern, Man City, Liverpool, they usually press with 5 or sometimes even 6.

Personally, I’m starting to think that Rashford instructed to conserve his energy and be our main outlet for goals. That’s why he rarely pressed or defended and had the most chances for United.

Rashford had like six shots or eight versus Brighton and Hojlund had zero. Zilch. Odo. He didn’t get any service, or any that he connected with. The only one he connected with turned into a goal, but Rashford delayed the pass too long and it was out of play. It was even as a last resort because he’d played his normal rubbish.

I think ETH has to put Rashford in his place. He should stop pressuring himself to score. Everyone must work hard, create chances for others, and score goals when in the right positions.

The Rashford favoritism should end. “Gernacho” has better decision making most times. If Rashford is off ona particular day, Genarcho should come in and create chances, etc.

If the bolded is true then ETH must be using Sapele water to brush his teeth. You want to be a pressing team and still carry a passenger in attack. The front 3-4 pressers are key and if anyone of them is slacking off then the whole press will be rendered useless.

The number of times Rashford wrecked our press by just strolling in that Brighton game was crazy. I watched him wreck press after press, and in my opinion that was a show of indiscipline. Not all indiscipline is coming late to practice or slapping your coach in the face. And if it was ETH's plan for Rashford to be strolling around like an omo onile instead of pressing then ETH himself don craze.

It is either ETH is mad or Rashford showed gross indiscipline. However, because this was his first really bad game, i would still not bench Rashy immediately, and also because of the lack of options. I would expect ETH to go through game tape with him, correct him, and start him against Bayern. He would have a shorter rope though, and if he starts messing up again you take him off by min 55-60 and put Garnacho in (which is what ETH should have done against Brighton).

Talking about Garnacho, he has not had a single good performance from preseason till now. Hopefully, it is due to his preseason being disrupted by injury, because the other reason might be that he slacked off cos he believes he is a star.
