Ibime:Say less. |
A40:But how come bad weather inordinately affects cable TV in Nigeria compared to many other countries. I know Amadioha and Sango are Nigerians but still e no suppose bad like that na. |
BlueRayDick:Professional militant draggers and cancellers association of Nigeria. Cause of death remains unknown but PMDCAN has to act. |
BlueRayDick: He is just pressing down, shaking together, and running through. Sorry i mean running over. Quite biblical if you look at it in toto. |
GloriousGbola:End time ministry. |
Leyqute:Yup. Crowd dey impatient sef. LOL |
Leyqute:
|
Leyqute:The match was on Friday. Yeah i don't think he is ready yet for that level. |
nitrogen:So you will allow someone who had limited role and extensive support in building a bungalow have total control building your high-rise? Or will you ensure he has that same extensive support in building your high-rise? Dey play. Anyway, we are where we are now. P.S I didn't give up on Ralf. Back then I said something along the lines of it was like sacking your plumber for not doing a good job with the carpentry job you urgently begged him to do for you. |
nitrogen:LOL. I am not waiting for the day you blame the Glazers for anything. You hear that a man built a nice bungalow. However, he didn't design the house, hire the labourers or buy the building materials. You now give him contract to build your high-rise. This time however you allow him to design the house, employ labourers, and buy the materials. You are now acting shocked that the high-rise is crumbling. |
nitrogen:If you are saying they depend on the fans for direction then we are in trouble. It is this PR-driven policy that has led us to this. "What will people say" is what they think about rather than "What is the smart/right thing to do". Imagine giving a man who was not even in charge of building squads of 100-200m total control of building a squad of 500m-900m. WITH NO EVIDENCE. They get their instructions from fans that are so fickle that they will turn on a manager after 2 poor results. There is one popular YouTuber who was selling ETH "Ten Heisenberg" T-shirts a few weeks ago. The same guy is now ETH out. ![]() Meanwhile when it comes to selling the club like most fans want, they have not done that one o. But when it comes to making ridiculous decisions they obey the fans. |
Expert17:The guy is conceding some eminently saveable goals sha. Let us not lie and let us not steal. |
nitrogen:I wanted Diogo Costa. Onana's brain touch moments are not new to me but even i am a bit surprised at how beatable he has been. |
nitrogen:Fans are allowed not to know what they are getting into, not club owners. And are you saying they started scrutinizing his CV AFTER employing him? You are worse than Maguire's mother. LOLAnyway some of us here called it that he needed another person around him to help with squad building, cos anybody who follows football closely knows that Overmars firstly and VDS were the people who built those Ajax teams. If you are saying the Manchester United ownership and management did not know this, then the fault is theirs. |
Leyqute, Lacey played for the Under-21s in a friendly and provided the assist for the only goal of the game. |
Greenwood on the bench. |
Leyqute:The fact that he completed 90 mins is another indictment on ETH. |
Ibime:It is still not grass to grace as the general populace would have it. One of my very good friends from Uni was sent abroad for his Masters by his dad and came back to be named a commissioner. Apparently his dad was a respected grassroots leader in the state. The boy don hammer now but he can’t open his mouth and talk about grass to grace. We might have to agree to disagree because the same way you said there are different levels of grass I believe that there are different levels of grace. Your parents can’t send you to expensive private school after expensive private school in a country where the average man on the street is not sure of where his next day’s meal will come from, and you will now be claiming grass. You are living in grace, just that your grace no high reach them Adenuga own. |
Puntingnoob:Bruno didn’t start on the right wing. We actually played a lopsided 4-4-2 with a diamond in midfield. Case at the base, Bruno at the top, Eriksen LM (but helping Case out situationally), McTominay RM. Rashy and Rasmus played on top with Rashy slightly to the left. The thinking was to play narrow in midfield and stop Brighton from playing in between the lines in midfield which they are incredibly good at. It worked to a large extent but the problem was that whenever they cut us open there was no resistance from our CBs, GK, and CDM. Another problem was that as a consequence we had no RW threat and all our attacks were through a Rash who was blinded by greed. It is quite telling that even playing at home ETH was so lacking in self belief that he changed his formation to try to combat a Brighton team that was without some of its key players. Meanwhile Brighton played their usual game, home or away, missing star players or not. |
Puntingnoob:I don’t know what he sees that others can’t see but maybe that is why he is the manager and we are mere fans. Even if Mount is presently marginally better than Mejbri (which I don’t think is the case) the difference is not worth the 60m wasted on that transfer. Plus Mejbri will be the obviously better player within 6-12 months if given the opportunities. |
BlueRayDick:100%. Building on family wealth does not equate to grass to grace. |
Gambit001:If given game time Mejbri is better than Mount, Eriksen and McTominay. The only things holding him back are his temper, and a risk-averse manager with tunnel vision. If you combine his pressing ability, ball carrying ability, passing ability, speed and strength on the ball he is more complete than any of those other guys. |
Ibime:Maybe grace to more grace. There are different levels of grace as well. There was no grass at any time. The man was an investment analyst who was in charge of pension funds at Shell. Then he became MidWest District Overseer a long time ago. He sent Iyin to one of the most expensive private secondary schools in Nigeria before he spent another year at an even more expensive prep school in Canada before he went to Uni there. Has the guy made it bigger and utilized his opportunities? Yes. Is his story a grass to grace story as the average Nigerian would understand it? No. If we become loose about our definition of grass to grace stories, we will have to add Dangote and Otedola. After all, they built on what they were initially given. |
chrisley024:If the manager’s structure is defective even those guys will struggle. Also by the time Mainoo. And Amrabat get up to speed the season would have been lost. IF Amrabat is able to perform as well as many think he can then Amrabat, Mainoo/Mejbri, Bruno would be our best midfield combination but it’s not going to happen. It is clear that we lack legs in midfield and you can’t play counter-pressing/transition football and depend on Eriksen, Case. |
Leyqute:Yeah I watched it. We used a very young team cos most of the best Under-18 players will be facing Bayern in the UEFA youth league in a few days. We started with three 16yr olds and a 15yr old (Kukonki), and we subbed on three 15yr olds (Amer, Thwaites, Bailey) and still won despite playing more than half of the game with a man down. With regards to Musa, I really don’t think he has it in him to make it here. |
chrisley024:That would destabilise the midfield and open gaps all over the place which is what we are seeing. We need work rate and pace in that midfield instead of the traffic cones we have there presently. ETH has wasted over 200m on players that are probably not going to work out. Antony, Mount, Case are all looking suspect. Martinez is good as long as he has a solid partner while the early signs from Hojlund are encouraging. |
Expert17:Shebi when I criticised him after he injured Mainoo people were complaining. The guy can’t track runners from midfield, so he either lets them go like he did with Welbeck today for the first goal OR he fouls them like he did in the incident that got Mainoo injured. He runs like he is running on the beach. ![]() |
Omoh enu gbe mehn. Which kain week be this? |
GloriousGbola:In the words of the great modern philosopher Chad Ochocinco, "I would lie for you before i would lie to you." |
![]() Trust me bro defence aka I no fit lie you. |
A40:Hahaha. Iyin the bobo master. The father worked for Shell for nearly 30 years before retiring to become Foursquare G.O. |
GloriousGbola:The story is in incomplete in terms of where those kidneys were being sent to, however with regards to the possibility of a kidney being removed surreptitiously, it is possible. Reading the story it actually makes some sense because one of the approach options for right nephrectomy (removal of the right kidney) is actually similar to the approach for appendix removal. As long as the procedure was done under general anaesthesia and the same doctor was in charge of the post-op care, then it is possible. It is much more difficult to explain away a left nephrectomy scar so i wouldn't be surprised if all the kidneys removed were on the right side. I am also curious to find out where the guy got his surgical training or learnt the skills, because nephrectomy is meant to be carried out only by a qualified urologist, although in Nigeria we tend to have surgeons who learn surgical skills across multiple specialties even though they might not have the paper qualifications. |
