Leyqute: I haven't seen much of IHA in that AM position. Sola too. Haven't had time to watch academy games of late. IHA does have that passing intelligence tho.
But then if a youth player keeps impressing Ten Hag (AG17, Mejbri, Mainoo) , I'm sure he'll give other young players minutes too.
Yes he will but there aren’t enough minutes to go round and develop them especially when they all play similar positions. At least 2 or 3 of them will lose out. Mainoo is really lucky that ETH likes him. Funny thing is that he is the youngest.
Leyqute: Shoretire doesn't have a good chance if he's competing with those names you mentioned.
I'm guessing his best position is LW and we have Rashford there already, along with Garnacho. At AM, Mejbri is currently ahead of him and Amad is ahead of him too at RW.
He's better off getting minutes elsewhere to be candid.
His best position is AM. The other natural AM in the team is IHA. They both take more risks in passing and are probably better short range passers than Hannibal. Hannibal’s best position is actually CM because that’s where he can use his best assets like work rate, ball carrying ability, long range passing. Problem is that that is Gore’s best position as well and until this season was also Mainoo’s best position.
My prediction is that 0 or 1 out of Shoretire/IHA make it here, and 1 or 2 out of Hannibal, Gore, Mainoo make it here. Worst case scenario 1 out of the 5 and best case scenario 3 out of the 5.
Leyqute: Paul Pogba, a more serious player than Sancho is , had problems with Mourinho at United. How do you think Sancho will fare under him? Mourinho that is big on hard work, especially off the ball?
Mourinho that was giving Dele Alli important life lessons, Dele was smiling at Mourinho like Mourinho was a mad man.
Leyqute: Shola made his Man Utd debut at 17 but today (2 years later) it doesn't look as if he'll break into the first team anytime soon. If we won't be playing him, I suggest we sell him soonest so he can get quality game time.
Afrodoc2 you've been watching academy games for a while. Who do you think is the bigger talent between Sola and Andre Gomes?
I think it is Gomes in terms of technical ability but Shoretire was played so far ahead of his age group it is hard to say what he could have achieved if he had been allowed to develop organically instead of playing him with people 4-5 years older.
A major difference is that Shoretire does not have the physical limitations Gomes has. One thing that has happened over the past 12 months is that our academy midfield products have started cannibalising themselves like I predicted. Savage and Iqbal are gone. So hopefully we can get 2 senior team members from Mainoo, Gore, Mejbri, Shoretire, IHA.
raumdeuter: I heard Obasanjo in the 80s, 90s used to shoot workers at his Ota farms for stealing
People will ruin you. Me don remove hand from running any business in Naija
I once tried trucking. I sent Mack trucks paid for clearing not knowing that the agent I paid spent my money and was banking on another person to pay him for clearing so he can use for mine. This agent I've used him for multiple shipment and even introduced people to him for business
He started giving me stories the computer at port is bad, their bosses traveled to Abuja
I had to send someone else who told me my trucks have been waiting clearing for weeks and started incurring demmurage say if I incur to some level, they will auctionthe truck. I had to pay another set of clearing fees plus demmurage to get my truck out. After clearing I got in touch with a soldier friend to handle him but my dad called me to let him go and leave to God cos if soldiers injure him na my family dem go still come meet.
Na so I leave am. Like a year later after new year he suddenly called me, I even thought he wanted to repay back. Na so he begin tell me say for some time his business has been very bad, he went to a pastor to pray and they told him that it's because he cheated someone who did him a lot of good and until that person forgives him. I chuckled and ask that what of the money you are owing me? He say he never get the money but I should forgive him
Confess. Na Segedinho go meet one baba on your behalf run package on the guy head.
Obasanjo used to beat his workers if they stole from him. But the beating na military beating o. The type that at some point they would have preferred to have been shot.
TrebleChamp: Another talent about to go to waste due to indiscipline and over blotted ego.
Being good at something doesn’t automatically mean you enjoy doing it. Some of these guys don’t even like football like that but because the money will take them out of poverty they have to do it.
So once they get the money it is hard for them to maintain that same hunger and drive. The only way to maintain that drive after making money is if you truly love playing football. This applies in life generally, not only in football or sports.
TrebleChamp: The bolded is why i criticize the board a lot during Ole tenure and now. Sancho is on a huge salary, i don't think any club will want him except maybe the Saudis. See how Maguire refused to take a pay cut to join Westham, i doubt Sancho will take a pay cut to join any team. So if by January United cannot ship him out permanently or on loan, would it be wise to leave him at home collecting his fat pay while still being a nuisance to the team? The club should terminate his contract and pay him off if no Club come for him in January, huge financial decision i know but would be best for both parties.
I am certain he would either apologise and return to the senior team or a club will come for him in January. The thing is that even if he apologises I think ETH is done with him, and even if ETH is not done with him I don’t think he is worth the distraction UNLESS there is a miraculous change in mentality and performance.
This one is looking like it’s going to be another case of wasted potential. Dele Alli 2.0 Many of those UK council estate footballers are potential wastemen.
Who pass you, pass you. I think saying Joyce no get head movement is almost sn insult to Zhang. Zhang had that niggas number like a contacts list.
If they fight 10 times Zhang go beat am 10 times. Joyce didn’t start boxing until he was over 20yrs old and he never even watched boxing growing up. There is a certain level of computing and processing that the brain of a lifelong boxer can do inside a ring that a newbie can’t. Zhang made him look like the relative JJC that he is. He was reactionary all through the 2 fights.
A lot of these boxers, especially the heavyweights that one had some hope in are just mediocre. No finesse or boxing intellect. Someone once blamed it on the lack of really good trainers., and that might be the root cause.
nihilistjnr: I think it was unfair for him to face Zhang again after having his face broken the first time round.
I don't even think his head movement or lack off was the problem - the combo that slept him was a jab yo the body followed by a vicious right hook. Even if he was a snake, he wasn't weaving that
Zhang timed him like a punctuality prefect. That straight left finished him in the first fight, so he started this 2nd fight overcompensating and circling towards Zhang's right. Zhang being an omo iko adjusted and timed him with the right.
Did you guys catch the Joe Joyce fight? Even for his size the lack of head movement is crazy
Apart from lack of head movement, he actually moves his torso slowly so he can't weave at all. Then his hand speed and timing are not great unlike Zhang whose hand speed and timing are wayyy better. He also couldn't decipher Zhang's southpaw code and that was ultimately what finished. Zhang rope-a-doped him into that right hand. From the 2 fights it is obvious that he is the way smarter fighter.
Book wey be say ordinary : "And they called the goat evu" we critcize inside and u dey convulse. Na that same book u go send to foreign people dem no go knack u big pepsi bottle for head for wasting their time . Just dey play
This boy doesn't know all these folklores, myths and historical accounts are what some of us have read while cutting our teeth in the literary world.
TrebleChamp: Player no send you or the club, you still dey look for apology. Sancho's contract should be terminated and both parties move on...
You do know that even if the contract is terminated he will continue getting all of his money, right? The 2 options are either he apologizes or he gets sent out on a loan deal or a permanent deal in January. Considering how crap he has been, nobody will buy him and pay him what we are paying him, so the most likely scenario is a loan deal where we still pay some of his salary.
Another result of the Udoji contract that we offer our players. We offer players undeserving contracts and because they think they have arrived they slag off and become unserious. They lose form and then we can't offload them because other clubs are not that ridiculous and incompetent. Good examples are the last contracts of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, DDG, Martial, Sancho. When i first heard of Sancho's contract i refused to believe it for at least a year. Even now, i still find it unbelievable. Like, unbelievably mad.
patrickmuf: The players at the club are not disciplined enough.
I support whatever move will see a change in the recent narrative. Fvck you Sancho....
100%. Someone that has disappointed several times despite getting multiple chances and a very long leash is now proving strong head. If Sancho wins this battle ETH will quickly lose the dressing room and he can kiss his job goodbye sooner than anticipated.
Ellexy: Playing video games until 3am, turning up late for training and subsequently refusing to train yet claiming to fight for the badge. On top of that still refusing to apologise. Where did we get these useless players from sef. Even Ronaldo with all his achievements, status and ego still apologized.
The guy is a major disappointment. All these hood UK boys are just in purely for the money. Most of them don't even love playing football like that.
Some dudes actually pushed for him though. Make we dey manage EtH go abeg.
I was for either Tuchel or Nagelsmann with Nagelsmann being my preferred. I didn't really join the ETH bandwagon until later when Nagelsmann and Tuchel became unavailable. However, i was always against Poch, and one of the main reason was i could not see what style of football his teams played despite watching him for years in the EPL. The second main reason was that he appeared to have a loser's mentality and was happy with mediocrity.
BlueMann: I can only imagine that things would've been different if Palmer had started at 10, Chilwell at LB and Enzo paired with Caicedo. Everyone else can see it.
But not this blind fool.
I need relieve myself of this borderline hatred I feel for this man. I got so invested in this team for fvck sake.
Leyqute: Luke Shaw and Malacia were both injured before we sent him out on loan. We signed Reguilon on the last day of transfer. Same day we completed Fernandez’s loan move to Granada.
Oh ok. Maybe ETH doesn't think he is ready. I also don't think he is strong enough yet to play as a United LB. In terms of long-term planning i still support him going on the season long loan to get minutes and make teething mistakes in a less pressurized setting. I think the Reguilon deal was the better move to make.
Alvaro and Mejbri are 20 and not 18 like Gore and Mainoo. What they need now is extended minutes, which is why i suggested selling Mejbri if they were just going to keep him on the bench. Prematurely throwing Alvaro in as our only LB for several months might actually wreck him. Let him develop and make his mistakes out of sight in Spain. Next season the decision would be made on whether he is good enough to be a United LB.
