Leyqute:It is possible sha but we should not bank on it. Liverpool has the the tools to be much better with the nearly 500m they spent in one window. They will get a better manager and probably spend more. Chelsea will always spend and be around. Man City will always spend. Arsenal is still there as well. We must follow this last strong summer window with another strong window. |
MRTA7:Fair enough. It’s all about the money available IMO. CM should be the no 1 priority sha. |
Leyqute:Yes, it is looking like most of their buys have been decent. The summer transfer window and manager appointment will play decisive roles on how next season will go. The other top clubs that are struggling this season would likely not struggle next season. |
Leyqute: It just depends on how much money is available. SJR was talking like we had no money last summer and people were thinking of Delap only for him to spend big on 3 attacking players. If the money is tight the focus should be CM (at least 2), a starting LW, a rotation CF. Since Cunha has refused to man the LW maybe he can be retooled to be Bruno's long-term replacement next season. 4 or 5 top quality reinforcements via transfer and hopefully a few academy players can step up to save us some money. It is about time a few of them stepped up and did a Mainoo. We have 5 serviceable CBs, 2 serviceable senior RBs and a few potential academy RBs. Shaw, Dorgu, and if under duress, Heaven can play LB. Amass might be in the squad next season as well. We have 2 senior RWs and an academy RW. |
engrelvis, you don see small team now ba? xG of less than 1 because of haramic low block football. If we were playing a bigger team space for yapa around their 18yd box. The skillset needed to attack teams that will open up and give you easy passing planes and space in behind is different from the one needed to attack low block. The skillset needed to defend against a team pressing you into your box is different from the one needed to defend on the halfway line. e.g. Maguire vs Yoro |
Leyqute:The Everton result was more due to our cluelessness than to Everton's low block. Yesterday Wet Haram limited us to 10 shots with an xG of less than 1. I agree the Everton game will be tough however but that is partly because they will be able to defend better than West Ham even without a low block. Martinez, Mainoo, Maguire were just posing on the ball in the 1st half like don dadas. Serious wakeup call. The next game must end in a win. Yeah, it might be a good time to play Yoro. If we are facing low block teams, he or Heaven should be the choice ahead of Maguire. It is also looking like Dalot is about to lana. The guy don focus die for 4 games, him head don dey pain am. We should rest him for Maz before he woundjure us. |
Leyqute:I think he is tired. That effort and acceleration was not just there. I saw glimpses of it in the Fulham game which is why i wanted him to be rested after that. Thank God for the break over the next few days. |
![]() Hmmm |
I suspected that banana will turn iron in this game. Away game. West Ham fighting for their lives. Their manager is haramic. We had less than 1 week rest. 2 criticisms of Carrick: 1) Allowing the team complete that whole first half at walking pace thereby playing into the hands of West Haram. 2) Not making the Sesko change at half time or immediately they scored. 1 praise: Making the Yoro for Maguire change. Prevented a couple of West Ham counterattack goals and helped us with ball progression. |
Dalot will get a red card in this game if exquisite care is not taken. Maz for Dalot and whoever for Sesko. |
The cardinal sin against a haramic team: letting them score first. |
Case and Mainoo have to speed up the play in midfield. All this posing on the ball won’t move West Haram. Those ones are prepared to play at this dead pace for 40 days and 40 nights. |
Dalot’s brain has misfired about 3 times in this first half. |
Na 3 points me dey look for today. All this Amorin and Alaimorin talk don dey stale. It is an away game against a team that is on a good run of form and is battling relegation, coached by one of the most haramic of bus parkers this side of Demon Bordelas. Banana fit turn iron. |
Tochex101:Black guy with white hair. Skoi skoi for head, POP for leg. You see say I sabi am. |
odizeey:It feels great to be winning games back-to-back-to-back and long may it continue. We need to be careful though that we don't rest on our laurels even if we win all our remaining games. The squad still needs loads of additions and improvement next season, especially with the increase in games. We don't have good subs at LB and CM. The LW situation too is not clear. |
iamharkinwaley:We have a lot of tough games coming up although the team can still pick the win in most of them. We just need to be lucky with injuries and also improve on our conversion rate which is still not up to standard. That Sesko last second miss was worrying. For those saying this team is good enough for a title race, I hope the Glazers/INEOS don’t think like you. This is what led to the alternating 1 big window and 1 small window of the Mourinho era. This season the evidence (even under Carrick) shows us that we are a Casemiro injury or red card away from floundering. No quality replacement for any of our 3 midfielders actually. Even with Casemiro we needed 2 quality CMs. When he leaves that might increase to 3 unless someone from the academy has a Mainoo rise (maybe one out of Kone, T Fletcher, Devaney). Ugarte is a zero who is blocking the progress of superior technical talents and should be sold. |
Mainoo might make a late charge for the World Cup squad. |
Leyqute:Na extremely real wa. Kasimawo. |
3 points too sweet walahi. ![]() |
Carrick should have made the sub earlier IMO. |
Why is Casemiro nutmegging in that situation and why is Bruno doing rabona. The score is 1-0 o. |
Ellexy:The red card changed that. |
There can be no excuses in this game. |
Playing crap against 10 men. Careless passes everywhere. Shaw is a toad. |
Amad is on a yellow. He is doing a good job on Udogie but Michael Oliver has main character syndrome and hates United. Take Amad off and move Mbeumo to the right. Cunha on the left and Sesko up top. |
Today might be the day that Carrick’s team faces a low block for the first time. We need to watch out for their counters and we also need to take our chances. |
This was one of our easiest fixtures during SAFs time. How times have changed. |
CapitalCee:Orozco’s tape looks better than Leon’s tape before coming but then again I have only seen Orozco play under-age football. Leon has been struggling really badly. He has been the worst player in the Under-21 side and even Under-18 players stepping up to the Under-21s are doing better than him. Maybe it’s just a settling down issue and he will regain his groove by next season. He needs to lose some of that weight though. It takes him 7 days and 7 nights to turn and accelerate. |
CapitalCee:Yes we are already doing okay in terms of utilising set pieces. Amorim’s set piece coach at least did a good job on that this season before they left. I remember I lambasted the guy last season cos we were woeful in that aspect. You have a point about the lack of pace at the back though players like Rashy, Garnacho being primarily counterattacking players also contributed. |
