Federal Government don't pay for pilgrimage in Nigeria. When they say sponsored they are only selling Forex to them at reduced rate. Intending pilgrims buy forex at reduced rate not that the government is paying for them. Huge misconception.

What about the state governments?

Some see it as a way of rewarding party faithfuls and grassroots mobilizers ; but I clearly see it as waste of public funds in such a way that the religious sentiments of the people would never allow them question such act of “benevolence “.

Methinks most of those governors who sponsor people on pilgrimage do not do so because they even believe in such ; most likely they pad the pilgrimage expenses and remove their own from it after getting approval of the people .

If you know the politicking that goes into making it into those pilgrimage lists you go bow.

Of course the governors don’t bother about belief. It is just a way of sharing loot and rewarding cronies.

How's the job market for immigrants in Australia? I mean jobs to keep body and soul together. I hear the UK and Canada have gotten really oversaturated. Is it the same with Australia?

I hear only good things over here but most people I know here are very qualified professionals. Doctors, nurses, engineers, accountants etc.

Obaino will be in a better position to give you the latest details but from the little info I have Canada is still numero uno for non-medical jobs.
